Chapter 22, continued:
Ed finished his snack and we realized that we had less than an hour before our lunch ressie. We decided to head over to Echo Lake so we would be in the general vicinity of Hollywood & Vine, so we crossed Hollywood Boulevard and noticed that we had just missed another one of the streetmosphere performances:
Darn! I really like these!
And I missed a perfect opportunity to embarrass my daughter again!!
A little stop at the park's dedication statue and plaque:
The traditional dinosaur footprint shot near Echo Lake... Tricia always laughs when she sees these footprints because when she was little, she truly thought they were “real!”
Hello, Gertie!
Now what’s a good thing to get done before, not after, our lunch?
Ed doesn’t care much for this one, but he loves Star Wars so he toughs it out. We had fun discussing the proposed Star Tours 2.0 and looking at the queue props while we had our short wait on standby. They weren’t even using the Fast Pass queue! Luckily for Ed we were assigned to the first row, which has the least “bumpy” ride. Billy, on the other hand, absolutely loved getting tossed around in his seat! Add a video and heart-pumping music to the mix and he was in heaven!
After exiting we did poke around a bit in the Star Tours gift shop, just looking at tee shirts and things. I almost bought a shirt for Billy, but on this trip I was really trying to be good about not spending too much money on souvies, so I resisted. Yay Me!
There was a bit of a wait for the land cruiser photo-op, so we didn't bother waiting. Catie snapped a picture of the Ewok hut:
Believe it or not, it was now eleven o’clock and our Play ‘n Dine ressie was for 11:15. We took a leisurely stroll over to Hollywood & Vine and checked in at the podium. Billy was very excited. I think that over the past few years this has become his favorite character meal at Walt Disney World.
I love the theming in this area, especially the “apartments” upstairs:
Perhaps a future movie star lives here!
Our buzzer lit up and we were escorted inside. Ahh, the A/C felt nice!
Someone is very happy!
Next up: Billy gets the Lion’s share of attention!
