A Halloween Adventure in Autism (11/12) New Thread Begun on TR Board!

ok...I open up the "last page" on this pre-trippie and see a post about diaper bags and right above the post is an advertisement for diaper bags???!??! Is someone reading our mail? :confused3

I think the ads are placed based upon key words in the text... must be a computer program or something.

But, I'd like to know why there always seems to be a Weight Watchers ad on my reports. You don't think my computer is trying to tell me something, do you?!? :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Wow, I miss two days and look at all the action!

You snooze, you lose!!

Did they link your reservations?

Yes, I did.

Not much help on the park bag. I used to use a full size backpack but it is too big now that the kids are older and I don't need as much stuff. I've gotten a Baggalini for our upcoming June trip.

I liked the baggalini, but the cross-over isn't working for me. I like to carry lots of stuff, "just in case." Maybe I do need a diaper bag!

Kathy

Two little trip-planning tid-bits to report:

First: Tonight Ed came home from a two-day SWAT training seminar and I told him the news about dumping ASMu and changing to Kidani for our first night. Also had to tell him about the additional $145 it was going to cost. :rolleyes1 He was a bit surprised, but was fine with it.

I kind of thought he would be, but Whew!! It's nice to know for sure! ;)

Second: I've been searching all over the internet for a new bag to carry at WDW. I like the Baggalini messenger bag that I've used for the past 2 trips (and various day trips as well), but I don't care for the cross the body style. I love to wear my pin lanyard at the parks and the strap and the lanyard do not co-exist very well. I'm also concerned about losing pins that way. It's too bad, because it's the perfect size bag for me!

I like a bag that is roomy, but not too big, and can be worn over the shoulder. I also like to have features such as a cell-phone pocket and a place to hold a water bottle. So far all the bags I've seen and liked are either too big (Patagonia Half-Mass Bag ) or too small (Vera Bradley Hipster) or too expensive! (Piel 2-pocket Sling - $100!)

:confused3 Any suggestions??

Kathy

I liked my LLBean travel bag-it's bigger than my vera bradley hipster.

Is that the ergonomic sling bag?
I had one (size medium) for our first Disney trip and I thought it was a bit too small. Perhaps I should look into a larger size....

The only problem with carrying a big bag is that you tend to fill it up and then it gets too heavy! I've got to find a happy medium...

Kathy

It's the smaller of these bags http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/st...oreId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1&from=SR&feat=sr. It's lightweight, but big enough that my dad was able to use his as a man bag to carry a camcorder, camera and meds around Europe. It also has a few [ockets I find more accesable than on my bagalinni (there's a velcro pocket on the back I like for keeping some Excedrin and ginger on hand).

Hmm. The price certainly is right! :thumbsup2 Thanks for the tip!

Kathy

You certainly aren't "rubbing it in", all's good! ;) I think we both are just so darned tootin' excited that we just wanted to share the whole journey with everyone here :goodvibes Although, I think we have FAR too many lurkers, and not enough posters! I guess as things get closer things will heat up.

By the way, does anyone here on your report know why, or even IF for sure, they have changed the ressie window from 500 days to only 1 year?? We would have had TONS of news to share, but maroo's efforts were thwarted a few weeks ago at CRO.

I'm clueless as to the reservation window question.

I know that a lot of TR readers prefer to "lurk" and not post... I've never really understood it, but that's only because I'm a "poster!"

I think that once you've written a TR yourself, you understand how much the author appreciates comments (or even simple "Hello's") from readers and it makes you more inclined to post.

It's a great outlet for those of us who are trying not to drive our family members crazy with daily talk about WDW!! As far as I'm concerned, it's never too early to start dreaming of and planning the next trip!!

I admit...I'm a lurker :) I just never have anything to say that wasn't already said!!!

I wish I had a response to your question about a bag, but since I'm always on the quest to find the perfect park bag (and it's getting expensive!), I can't really comment. I did finally find a Ful Sling backpack (a small one) that I like, but if you don't like the cross-chest style it wouldn't work for you. I've also gotten the Ameribag Coil Field Pack (http://www.ebags.com/ameribag/coil_...ndex.cfm?modelid=92953&lastterm=ameribag coil) which I like, but I've found that this style of bags aggravates my fibromylagia when using it in the parks (though I use it as a regular purse-type bag at home just fine). Good luck with the quest!

I'm glad its not just me! I was beginning to get a complex.;)

Park bag-sorry, no help. My MIL is letting me borrow her bagallini messenger, so I'm glad to hear its worked for you in the past.

Ok, I'm now on page 43, I'll be all caught up really soon.:thumbsup2

I loved the bagallini messenger! It's a great size and all the compartments are very handy. If they made it as a shoulder bag, I would be so happy! :thumbsup2

Hi Mavis! :wave2: Thanks for dropping by!

I did read about the Halloween resort activities. Don't they sound like fun?!

We will definitely be heading over to the lobby in Jambo House to check out those pumpkin carvings! :thumbsup2

Thanks! Pooh's my favorite too :thumbsup2

We'll be at Jambo this fall, but thinking about Kidani for next year, so I'm excited to hear your opinion of the resort. The early reports are both good and bad, but I'm thinking it's still early, and since the whole resort isn't open yet, that might play into it. We absolutely love Jambo house, so I think it will be hard to tear ourselves away to Kidani next year, but that extra bathroom in the 1 bedroom is hard to beat, especially when we are taking guests!

no sure how much help I can be on the bag...but I like the backsack style.

though I am thinking about a hipster for the next trip.

Aldine's Croc bag was very roomy and had a cell phone pocket but it's across the chest style though.

Can't wait to see what you find!

I'm a long-time lurker. I've been reading along since the Half and Half report, but since I never have anything interesting to contribute, I prefer to just read along. I read your reports nightly (the DIS is the first thing I do when I get home from work), but have never had anything worthwhile to say. So just de-lurking to say I'm here. But I'll go back to my quiet following along now, thanks!:cool2:
