A Halloween Adventure in Autism (11/12) New Thread Begun on TR Board!

Hedy and jess98ac: Thanks, guys! :wave2:

Well, its gonna get pretty boring around here until park hours come out for November!! :lmao: I hope you can stick with me!

moparop: I think we're not doing the DP... of course I will be making a few ADRs, but I think we'd rather be free of it this year. :thumbsup2

Doing your errands... good girl! The only thing I got done today was 2 loads of laundry. The DIS is really cutting into my domestic goddess time.....

Kathy

I'm sorry, maroo, it was rude to use an "inside joke", but I knew mrsksomeday would get a big chuckle out of it!! :lmao:

Ip-Dip
is a word that an old-time DIS-er named Buzz, (MontanaDisneyFan), once coined to describe "someone who does something stupid or annoying at WDW."

It was a funny expression that stuck.

Here is a link to Tracy's PTR concerning the latest "Ip-Dip" gathering....

Kathy

I don't blame you at all, for saying it...I have seen it around the DIS...particularly on mrsksomeday's TR's! :) I love her TRs!!! :)

Now I know!! :)

Thanks for responding to me...I was afraid it was taboo or something when no one answered me. :scared1: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

I don't know about everyone else...but I will be sticking around till they post some hours!! :)

And I am sure we can come up with something to talk about till then!!! You can't run off now, ya know!!! :)

Kathy

bumping this to the next page...

I was totally not aware of this! Are there any special days in April that we can wear a certain color? What are good places to donate money? (Can I ask that on here?) What can a regular person, like me, do to help raise awareness... :)

I'm Giving My Regards to Broadway... Disney on Broadway!!

I've been thinking about how to break the news gently to Aunt Rae that we are not going to be inviting her to go with us to WDW this year. I am not looking forward to it! :sad2:

I've also been wanting to see one of the Disney on Broadway shows for the longest time, but its always been somewhat cost-prohibitive. But, now that they are having their 15 Year Anniversary Special, I finally decided to do it!!

(Buy one full-price ticket, get a second for $15!!)

So, for my own Mother's Day present, I got us tickets to see The Little Mermaid!!

It will be Ed, Tricia, Billy, me..... and Aunt Rae. I know she will absolutely love it. I guess I'm trying to "soften the blow" a bit.... and I hope it works!

Regardless, I'm super-excited about seeing the show! :dance3:

And, as an added bonus, now Ed doesn't have to think up of a good Mother's Day present for me!!!! :rotfl: I've done my own shopping!!

Kathy

Wow!! That sounds like so much fun! I saw a show on Broadway, once... it was wonderfu!l I'm sure you'll have a blast!

When are you planning to tell AR?

Have fun! I've seen Mary Poppins and Beauty and the Beast (and I saw the Lion King on Tour). :goodvibes:goodvibes

:goodvibes That's gonna be great Kathy! It's been a while for me....need to take a drive up to the big NYC....:goodvibes

So, how you gonna do it? Before, during, or after? :confused3 I think that is a very nice gesture. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Sara! (LOL, and Amy!!) :grouphug:

All I try to do is try to let folks know that just because their child has autism, it doesn't mean they have to miss out on the joy of a WDW vacation!! pixiedust:

Hi Mary!

There is no certain "color", however, these Autism Awareness "puzzle" ribbons are often worn... if you're interested, check out, www.autismspeaks.org

This organization is dedicated to spreading Autism Awareness.

Thanks!!

Thanks, DisMomAmy, Hedy, Tnkrbelle565, mrsksomeday, mom2mek, and Charleston Princess!!! :goodvibes

It was so hard for me to decide between Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, and The Lion King... We haven't seen any of them and they are all so wonderful!!

But, since its for Mother's Day, I chose the one that I would probably enjoy the most; the Little Mermaid. I absolutely love all those songs!

Ed is working on Mother's Day, so we will go the Sunday before (5/3). I'm still not sure how I'm going to broach the subject with Aunt Rae... perhaps sometime after the show?? :confused3

Not that same day, certainly, but after we've had that nice time together.

It's still too early for the trip to come up in conversation, but that won't last forever.... :rolleyes1

Part of me wants to get it over with and part of me just wants to stick my head in the sand like an ostrich and avoid it altogether!!

:scared1: *jaw drops, smashing through the floor*

Good gravy am I jealous. I've been dying to see TLM on Broadway ever since it first started, and will hopefully be going in May before the actress playing Ariel leaves. My boyfriend and I have a deal: if I get straight A's this semester, he will go without complaining (he's a Disney cynic, and not much of a musicals buff either).

However, seeing that 15th anniversery deal, I might just have to buy those tickets now, even though I won't know my grades for about a month. I'll just take my mom instead if I get a B :thumbsup2

It's a great discount, isn't it?! :thumbsup2

Just FYI... I was able to purchase the tickets today b/c of a DVC Member Perk... they are on sale (with the same Buy One, Get One for $15 deal) to the General Public on Sunday, April 5th, at 12pm! ;)

**The discount is for performances 4/21 - 5/31

Hope you get to go!!
