My DH has fiannly agreed to go to counseling with me!!! Last week, after inviting him 3 times, and him saying no all three time, he told me he was going to leave. (Well, I had told him if he didn't want to go to counsleing, we needed to discuss him leaving, and that is what he chose).
He did agree to see the counselor with me this past week (Thurs) to let the counselor help us come up with some ideas on how to sit the kids down to tell them. He did show up for that. Once the counselor had him in the room, he did get my DH to talk. The therapist told DH he couldn't understand why a guy would rather walk away from a marriage that really didn't have any "deal-breaker" issues in it, rather that try to fix it. He talked to Dh some, and what he said must have made sense to DH because DH has agreed to stick it out, and go to counseling.
The therapist gave us some homework. In the next two weeks we have to shcedule a time to get togther and talk to each other about issues. Finances, lack of commuincation, ect. Put everything out on the table and talk about them. We need to do this twice in the next two weeks. And, Dh had an extra assignment. He has to ask me out on a date. Just me and him, no kids allowed.
So, last night, he asked me to go bowling!!!!! We had a really fun time. We laughed, we high-fived each other, we disocvered bowling in the dark is not easy. (the bowling alley had "oldies night" they played oldies music, but the lights were off, so the only thing lit up were the pins. We couldn't see the markings on the alley)
So, I guess it's a good thing Rick Springfield didn't whisk me away into the sunset on Friday night.
