Well all,
DW and I just got back from our 5 year anniversary trip to the Grand Floridian and all things Disney World(7 nights/8Days) ! Over the next few days, I am going to write a trip report. I will be doing it "day by day" of our stay. I will also be doing a food report on the other board...So, without further delay:
Day 1 "A Grand Beginning":
After the 10 hour drive from North Carolina, we were both a bit tired. We decided that we would check -in, relax in our room for a bit, head to dinner (GF Cafe') , catch the fireworks and get some sleep. DW snapped this shot on the way into the Magic Kingdom:
Always love when we first see this!
From here we headed on to the Grand Floridian! We stayed here on our honeymoon and could not wait to get back. The hotel was even more beautiful than we had remembered, especially with the new floor! We had to get quite a few pics before doing anything else. We had checked in at 4pm, so our room had already been turned down for the night...Which was nice. Check in was great and very efficient:
When we got to our room (Big Pine- Outer building), I was in a big hurry to see the view from the balcony. We had paid for the theme park view as one of my favorite things to do is sit on the balcony and watch the castle change at night. VERY good decision! The "magic, memories, and you" show on the castle every night is even more amazing than the fireworks! It was great! Here are a few quick pics of our room and view during the day....Oh, and I almost forgot to mention our friend, 'Allie' the lagoon gator! She took her time swimming by our room the first day of our trip:
A View from a room:
Our friend the gator!
We then headed to the Grand Floridian Cafe for dinner. I will review our dinners on the food board later, but DW had the shrimp pasta and I had the salmon! I will say...We enjoyed them both:
Our first day ended with some beautuful fireworks! We took so many fireworks pictures that I will have throughout this report, that I will only post one here:
Well, that does it for day one! Off to bed we went
