a good half way point on the drive back from Florida...

We are cruising on DCL at the beginning of January. We would like to find a spot about half way back to Canada to spend a night and do some shopping. Any suggestions? We plan to spend the second night, driving back, in Grove City, PA, so somewhere about half way from Florida to Grove City, PA would be perfect. Any suggestions?
Also what are your favorite exits and why on i-90 route and the i-75 route.....we really havent decided which route we are taking on the return trip.

I'm making the assumption that your're taking I-95, I-26, I-77 to I-79. If that's your route then that's a tough one because half way would take you to north of Charlotte NC. You'll find hotels in the area but not much in the way of shopping. If you're planning to stop in Grove City though, it may not be a huge problem.

I like Lake Norman, NC. It's just north of Charlotte. There are some places by the highway. However, a little further west on one of the exits there is a sort of planned community (residences, condos, retail) with many nice shops (I remember it had one of the larger book store chains, Borders maybe, if you are asking about it).

Should be a good first stop for Grove City. Have fun.

I don't know your exact plan, but we have travelled the route mentioned by nosnobunny2006 three times in the last two years, and our stop on the way back is Beckley, WV. It is about a 12 hour drive from Orlando area, not including stops. That way you would reach Grove City, PA around lunch time and would have the afternoon to shop! We have the Country Inn & Suites in Beckley booked for the way home on our upcoming trip.

Personally I would drive as far as possible the first day.

Last time we drove back from WDW we stopped for the night in Summersville, WV, don't speed.
Next day drove and stopped to shop for a few hours in Grove City and then home to Mississauga.

If Summersville is too far stop in Statesville or Mt Airy, NC or Fancy Gap, VA.

If you are planning to spend the night in Grove City reserve a room before hand.
