A Gem of a trip-quality, clarity, color and "Cut that out!" completed 8/4

How dare your DH diss your hard planning and scheduling!

I found a contract on TGM for reluctant family members to sign to get them to agree to your touring plan. It's really aimed at children but I think I'm going to have him sign it.

Those pictures are great. I love the two of them together! You dd's dress is so sweet

With the kids bangs off their face it was spooky to notice that they did look alike. My fashionista refused to bring any of her princess dresses. She thought they were too childish of her so we scoured the stores agreed on this one instead.

On our way out of the BBB and into the photographer's she asked me if I had bought her belle costume. My heart sank. I suspected she would get bitten by the dress up bug once we were there and was so close to throwing that costume into our luggage when I was packing. I soooo wished I had at that moment. She shrugged it off quicker than I did.

What a great opportunity for your son!

Yes it is. He was never a "boyish" boy and we have all struggled with helping him find his right place in the world. For even if he doesn't continue with Ballet he is meeting other boys his age that are just like him.

Just placed my garden grocer order. Ordered from them last year and was glad I did. DH thought it might be cheaper to just bring everything (hello dairy?! That would be going in his suitcase) But with the airlines charging for a second bag he agreed to it.

He already knows that sending me in a taxi to the 24 walmart would NOT be the cheaper route. I'd get sidetracked.

Great pics!!

Congrats to your son. I hope your kids one day make it be dancing CMs. :dance3:

I was soooo excited when I placed my garden grocer order...so close!

TGM tells me I've got 39 days to go!
It's actually 38 days until we leave to stay overnight in Buffalo where we fly out from. I think I can go with 38 days because we will be on the way to see the mouse.
great update
Thanks! So sorry about your ankle but this way you'll have more time to sit and rest at the computer and catch up on the dis.

Can you tell me more about garden grocer. you can pm me if you want. it's something I've been thinking about. Thanks:)

We had many discussions over what to wear to the Pirate and Princess Party. The kids wanted to dress up but when they were faced with the heat they wanted to just wear their pirate t-shirts. So dressed in our pirate t-shirts (minus DD6 who was still wearing her white lacy princess embossed dress) we hopped on a 5pm bus to the MK.

We were greeted by a huge banner welcoming us to the P&PP. Here is the picture of us entering with our lootbags.

We got our wristbands, the free strollers (notice I said strollers as in plural. Here is where DS8 enjoyed having one so much that my Mom felt compelled to rent him one the rest of the trip and then the three kids quarreled over who got the single one constantly. However, I digress… back to that night). There weren't too many people arriving yet. It had just finished raining but there were still a fair number of people in MK. I suggested we do the Tomorrow land Transits Authority first. It was a hit with everyone.

We went to Buzz next and DD6 and I rode Space Mountain while the rest played some pirate games at a station set up nearby and started collecting their loot. We waited about 20 minutes to get on the ride. DD6 was in great spirits to ride until we got to the loading area. Then it was like the clamshell scene all over again. The CM's asked if we wanted to exit and DD6 said "Yes" or rather just a terrified scream. I knew that she had been talking about riding Space Mountain for months. I knew that if she didn't ride it she would be made at herself and somehow it would end up my fault. So I told the CM to just load us as fast as she could and the DD6 would be just fine once it got going.

She was in the front and I was right behind her. I held her hands the whole time and she screamed the whole time. She says she won't go on Space Mountain again but she's proud of herself for doing it. I am proud of her too.

Next up was dinner. We danced with Goofy, Chip and Dale in the Tomorrowland Restaurant. I can't remember the name of the place.

Next we went on a bunch of rides in quick succession. The speedway, Pooh, Dumbo and Peter Pan. We waited 5 minutes for Pooh, 16 for Dumbo and 25 for Pan.

Here are our mandatory stationary Pooh pics. Note that there was no lineup here either.

The fireworks started and although they look beautiful in all the pictures with the castle in the background my kids did not enjoy them. They all ran into their strollers with their hands over their ears. They were worried about the noise and all the smoke. We passed by the castle into Frontierland pushing the three of them at top speed and went into the country bear jamboree. It brought back memories for my parents and because it was away from the noise, flashing lights and smoke my kids enjoyed it.

We were ready for our snack credit so my Mom got us all frozen lemonades and held a spot for us to watch the parade while the kids rode Aladdin's Carpet. None of them found any humor in the camel spitting.

We enjoyed the parade until a pirate tried to swipe DD6's frozen lemonade. That was it for her. She was in my lap sobbing the rest of the parade.

I wanted to get us on the Jungle cruise but it wasn't open for the party. So we went to Pirates next. It was a walk on which was great because DS8 was not so sure he wanted to do this one. I had spent some time going through You-tube videos of this one to get him ready. Because we walked on and even ran in some places he never had time to think about it. Before he knew it-he was on it. He sat between my Dad and I. I kept whispering to him reminding him that this was not real and pointing out light fixtures and other machinery as well as giving him advanced notice of what was coming up next. I probably spoiled it for other riders around us (good thing there weren't many others on our boat) but it was exactly what DS8 needed to get through it.

It was after 11pm and much to my dismay the dole whip stand was not open. I would have to wait for another day. We walked past a show going on in front of the castle and took the bus home. We all managed to get seats.

Here is Cindy at the bus stop home. It must have been cooler that night because she is wearing a t-shirt over her dress. She actually isn't angry in this shot-just tired.

Here is DS4 asleep on my shoulder walking to the bus stop. He feel asleep in the stroller.

The three kids feel asleep on the bus ride. The older two woke up enough to walk to our Hotel but DS4 was out for the count. He had been running a fever all day (hence the am meltdown) and I suspected something wasn't quite right. It felt like a long walk to the Jazz building carrying DS4.

It had been a good evening. Although we skipped most of the P&PP activities we hit a lot of rides and were glad we had attended the party.

The following day was another sleep-in morning with a Date-Night for my DH and I. Who by the way, was starting to come around to TGM and admit that I did know what I was talking about with all my itinerary planning. Here is the link http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=26315516&postcount=61

I ordered my seaworld tickets yesterday. We had enough Airmiles for 5 tickets. I needed one more. So I searched the boards for a corporate code and bought one child's ticket for 15% off the usual ticket price. I'm darn proud of myself that we are all going to Seaworld for just $51.

If you are doing the math then you might be confused. There is me, DH, the three kids and just Poppa going. Nanny has to fly home for her Aunts 90th B-day party. We had scheduled our Disney dates around the birthday party and therefore missed free dinning. Then they decide to change their minds about the dates and I had already booked flights. But when Nanny said she couldn't come to the party-her sisters all said "We're not going if you're not going" and Nanny felt guilty. So long story short she is leaving us early.

I was pissed about it but since I can't control it-I've moved on. Poppa will be with us the whole time so we will still have a one to one adult child ratio and last year Nanny came late so we know we can do it without her. Poppa is the grandparent that is hands on with the kids. He's been the one to get down on the floor and set up train tracks or build lego houses. I need him to partner DS9 Eeyore on all the rides.

Nanny is the grandparent that does all the purchasing of gifts and the extra activities while we are down there. She's where DD7 Cindy and I have inherited the shopping gene from. Last year we kept losing Nanny to the shops. Thanks to Nanny the kids are going on the pirate cruise, doing the wonderland tea party and we are all doing the family magic tour. Last year she paid for the P&PP tickets.

When my parents took me to Disneyworld growing up they skrimped and saved all year. Nanny told me she never had any extra money to buy much. Each year we would do one fancy thing like the Hoop or the luau. I recently learnt that we did this one special thing because my grandparents always bought it for them. My grandparents always gave my brother and I some spending money so I always felt rich. They also passed my parents money to make sure that my brother and I always got a balloon and one of those big rainbow lollypops each visit. So I guess I'd better get ready to carry on this tradition when I become a grandparent.

The sad part is that Nanny is going to miss going to Cirque with us and she bought the tickets. She considered flying back just to go with us but to put it frankly she will be with us for 6 nights and then into a whirlwind of hosting her family for the party and I think she will be exausted. She'll need some time alone to recoup. Besides Cirque is coming into Toronto right after we get home. It's also her birthday. I'm toying with the idea of buying her two tickets (to take a friend) for her birthday.

Nice deal on the SeaWorld tickets. My DBro and DSIL live in Los Angeles. Last year I was in San Diego for a wedding (w/o DH and DD!!!!) so they came down to visit. i treated them to Sea World for the day. Seriously between the tickets, parking, and food, it was easily a $300 day!!!

I am proud of myself. I figure with the money I saved on park entrance fees that we can take a taxi there instead of the bus. DH thinks we are compromising and taking a taxi there but the bus back. I predict that after touring the parks all day he is going to cave and let us take a taxi back. Cross your fingers for me.

I will cross my fingers for you (BUT, my friend just went down and took the bus from DTD and said it was really easy...but I won't tell your DH :ssst: )

Great update! P&PP sounds fun. And what wonderful grandparents you have!
