A funny thing happened tonight (female related, maybe TMI!)

I'm so jealous! My period started within just a couple of months with both my boys despite nursing.

I had a brief experience with infertility. One of the long running jokes was if you buy a huge supply of sanitary items, you'll get pregnant.

That is a hoot! and yup, totally normal for the lack of a period.

I wonder if anyone has done a study about breastfeeding and periods. People say that they breastfed, but still got a period (or got pregnant). I wonder if they were nursing exclusively, meaning every feeding was from the breast - no pumping, no formula, around the clock. Or were people nursing, and pumping or supplementing.

The poster who said that once the baby starts sleeping thru the night got me thinking about this. It does make sense, in that once they start that, the feedings space out (or are skipped). Hmmmmmm, sounds like another thread to be started (with a poll).

I nursed exclusively for over seven months, then nursed and added solid food. I do remember my period starting shortly after that. Hmmmmmmmmm

Proof that everyone's body is different.

Ain't that the truth. Don't count on avoiding AF just because you are nursing! I nursed DS exclusively for six months, then continued until he was 15 months old. I spotted almost the entire time!!!! It was horrible - no actual AF. The doctor said it was "normal" for some women.

Anthony has been on solids for awhile now.. still no sign of AF but he does NOT sleep thru the night :scared: He gets up 2-3 times still. I think he's getting molars now (he already has 8 teeth) so I'm sure that isn't helping :scared:
