A funny question coming from my DS16...

O.k., we're going on our first cruise ever. And what does he want to know???

So do they have hash at the breakfast buffet?

He stated that he won't go on the cruise if they don't have hash. Funny Pat, funny.

So tell me, all the breakfast experts out there, can you make his day?

Breakfast? Oh, you mean that meal you get up early in the morning for... Fortunately, most mornings I wasn't up that early. Maybe someone else can help you.

Don't recall any....that was about the only thing they didn't have.
A lot of folks who have VERY specific tastes on soda, beer, wine, ketchup, mustard, coffee, artificial sweetner etc, bring they own. I say, put 3 cans of Dinty Moore hash in his luggage and let him go crazy.

Some of the things I recall at the breakfast buffet are fried eggs, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, bacon, sausage patties, sausage links, hot cereal, cold cereal, donuts (rumor is they were Krispy Kreme, to some that's a bonus, to me it's a negative) , bagels, yogurt, fresh fruit , toast, pastries, granola, waffles and pancakes.

Yes ma'am they do indeed have hash! It is served 2 out of the 7 days in Lumiere's as a skillet breakfast rotating with the lox & eggs skillet and the creamed chicken & biscuits skillet.

Which probably means that if he asks they will whip him up a special order of it on mornings where it is not on the menu. Just a guess on my part, but hearing of how DCL CMs go the extra mile for the guests when possible I can't imagine that your son couldn't get hash each morning.

But tell him that no teenage girls sail on DCL.

They also had hash brown patties type of things at Topsider every morning, those were very yummy especially when eaten with crispy bacon.....YUMMMM

They definately have hash as in corned (sp) beef hash....looks like dogfood (sorry but true) on the Wonder 2 weeks ago up on the breakfast buffet at Beach Blanket Buffet. I had some!!! They also had "hash browns" which look just like the potato hash browns that you would get at McDonalds (an ovalish shapped tater tot, but much larger).

Don't know about on the ship, but I'm sure you can buy a certain kind of hash on the islands.

Thanks everyone! Great news. My son and I read thru all these responses and cracked up at some of them. Dog food, omg, I totally agree. I can't stand the stuff myself, but my entire family loves it.

I am with your son, I love hash!! I had it in Tritons for breakfast everyday last summer on the wonder. If it was't on the menu they would bring it to me as a side!

They do indeed have Hash, my ex-boyfriend would get it at Topsiders. I don't have the stomach to even try the stuff because it looks like dog food and I just can't get past that visual!!

So here's my next question...is the hash the canned stuff or the real stuff? He LOVES the canned stuff. Can't stand the real kind with big chunks of onion and you know, the real meat.

I can't comment on the origin but my DH loves it! He knew which day we had to go back to Lumiere's for breakfast so he could have it again!

If your son loves hash, tell him it's being served at breakfast regardless.

If it's canned he wants, tell him that DCL told you it was canned.

What's he going to do when he finds out otherwise, jump off the boat?
