His son just turned seven. I'm not sure if they've been to disney or not, but since we live in FL, I am sure he will go eventually. What are some things they can do to make a trip easier and what is GAC??????

A GAC is the abbreviation we use on this board for Guest Assistance Cards. The GAC is a tool to help CMs know what sorts of assistance are needed by people with invisible disabilities. The GAC is not meant to shorten or eliminate your wait in line, but to give appropriate accomidation.
This website has a lot of good info about touring WDW with people on the autism spectum. There are also a lot of frequent readers/posters to this board who will be willing to share their experiences with children with autism and WDW trips.
