Your trip is going to be magic! What a wonderful pre trippy. Keep up the good work![]()
Okay, you're freaking me out! This time we were posting on the SAME PTR at the same time!
What can I say great posters post at the same time sometimes on the same post.![]()
Your DH sounds like my BF. He doesn't like sauces, he doesn't like garlic much (although my dad can't cook without garlic so my BF is getting used to it, and finds he doesn't dislike it as much as he thought now that he knows how delicious food can be!). He won't eat cheese of any description unless it's "cheeseCAKE" which he'll eat in wild quantities! Seriously, all the boy eats are processed foods and chocolate, i don't know how in the world he stays so skinny. He does like veggies but other than bananas and some berries, he doesn't do fruit.
i'll eat any veggie besides peas and brussels sprouts (shudder). Currently on the stove i have a vegetable orgy soup! Zucchini, squash, red, yellow, orange peppers, mushrooms, onion, garlic, carrots, celery.. i think that's it. Oh, tomatoes. As far as meat... i like pork, but not really bacon or ham. i like steak (medium-rare: not quite mooing), chicken, turkey. i don't do seafood. Mostly for me, whether a food makes it onto my yes-or-no list has to do with texture. Applesauce, oatmeal/porridge, mashed potatoes, soft bananas all make the "oh hell no" category! i don't do spicy either![]()
So while im relentlessly scouring the DIS, and reading a dozen or so trip reports, i start to notice how many people are wearing matching shirts or outfits. i know that Jess absolutely loves it when we get matching pajamas for Christmas: would she also walk around at Disney wearing a shirt that matched mine? Despite wanting to keep it a surprise, i asked her how she felt about it. Her answer was: If youll wear it, Ill wear it. Sweet! Shopping!
Since we dont have a Disney store in our city, i started, naturally enough, at disneyshopping. Between there and their outlet section, i came up with enough shirts for us each to wear one every day were there. Cool. Checkout.

You want HOW MUCH to ship to Canada? On top of these prices?! Nuh-uh.
First i reduced the order from 12 shirts to 2, then deleted a few more things. Still ridiculous shipping. Time for plan B. I called my twinnie in Texas. They have $5 shipping within the US. Can i ship it to her, and have her send it to me? Of course. So i had it shipped to her. However, now i still only have two shirts. At one each, thats a lot of topless days!![]()
New plan: theres lots of cool DISigns threads here with some really talented people making graphics. im not terrible with PSP. So ill get and make some designs and make my own shirts. However, that ended up not really being an option. Theres nowhere here to buy the plain shirts in the right size at a reasonable price. The iron-on transfer sheets are 3 for $18. And my colour printer is very temperamental.
Luckily, fate intervened. My best friend needed to drive her stepdaughter down south to spend thanksgiving weekend with her mother. She asked me to come along for the ride, and while down there she suggested we go to the Vaughan Mills mall. Know whats in the Vaughan Mills mall? A Disney Outlet store. Know what they had at the Disney Outlet store? A sh*tload of t-shirts in JUST THE RIGHT SIZE!And, even better, they were $3.99 each.
So i got 11 t-shirts (oops.. was supposed to be 12, i miscounted) for less than $50. SCORE!
These are the shirts i bought:

Now the only problem is: How do i decide whose are whose? i originally bought Tink and Eeyore for myself, and Pooh and Mickey/Minnie/Jasmine for Jess, but i seem to have ended up leaving it all unbalanced. My plan at the moment is to put them all in a big box together, with the two shirts and the rain jackets id ordered from Disney, and have the box addressed To sare & Jess from Mickey: See you soon!. Then ill put it under the Christmas tree, and well see which ones she really wants then. Its not like we cant share them once the trip is over.
im also hard at work on my own design for one more pair of shirts. Were technically there for seven days so i need one more set. i found a woman at a booth in the mall who is willing to print them on the right size shirts for $20 each, so im going to do that and maybe let my BF pay for it as a Christmas present to me or Jess or both.
OT i bought my brothers Christmas present from the same booth. The t-shirt says My mom says I ride the short bus because Im special. and has one of the children licking the window of the bus
Up next: Rough drafts of my t-shirt designs.
I love your updates. And thanks for checking out my June trip report!I like your ADR's. You will love Ohana's and CP is one of my favorites. I have CP planned for december. Kona is also great!
You are so lucky to have the DDP. I really think you should make an ADR for your Epcot day. There are so many good TS options in the Worldshowcase. Of course, Le cellier is my fav, but that ADR is soooooo hard to get.
I also like the Cape May Cafe breakfast while in Epcot. Its so easy to walk to and the characters are great!
A couple of others you might like - Yak and Yeti in AK. I also recommend the Plaza in MK. It is small, quiet, uncrowded and has great sandwiches and ice cream. Since you have the DDP, its one TS you probably don't mind using up!
Looking forward to reading more!
Loving you TR![]()
On that day that you cancelled your Sci Fi Dine In ADR if you do make it back to DHS and still want to eat there try getting a walk in, we got one in January with 9 people !
Lynn
I love your PTRCan't wait to read more!
Okay, i can't seem to find some of my t-shirt designs, and the others use other people's DISigns and i need to get the credits before i post them, so i thought i'd just post a picture from last night's Halloween party to tide us all over.

Happy Halloween!
Hehe.. well, a crazed medieval vampire is similar to a faerie princess, isn't it?
Yes, i did have fun. Unfortunately we only had about 20 trick-or-treaters - i don't know where the kids go anymore, since at my house i'm told they didn't have any. i spoke to my boss on the phone today, she said she had candy for 150 and had 30. Where do they all go??
Anyway this is that dress serving its original purpose: i was the maid-of-honour in my best friend's medieval wedding last October.

i look slightly more regally princesslike there, i think![]()
HI Sare!! I just found your pretrippie and am enjoying it very much!!
I think you and your lil' sis are both beautiful and I'm sure that you'll have a fabulous time in WDW![]()
I love your ADR choices. Your AK day, you're only a 2min bus ride from AKL... you probably couldn't get a walk-in for Boma for dinner (I'm picky and didn't like it anyway) but you could probably get a walk-in for a late "brunch" breakfast. It was really tasty.
CP is great... you two will have some great pics there![]()

If you have not already looked at the disABILITIES Board, I'd suggest making a visit to the disABILITIES FAQs thread (link in my signature).Hi!! Thanks for stopping by
Jess' disabilities luckily won't keep her from going on any rides, but i am slightly concerned that she might not be able to see all of the elements that really make Disney's rides a cut above the rest. She has quite low vision (she's legally blind), so i'm planning to get her a GAC, and hopefully will be able to work out that she can sit towards the front for any shows and things.
If you have not already looked at the disABILITIES Board, I'd suggest making a visit to the disABILITIES FAQs thread (link in my signature).
Post #6 of that thread has information about GACs (Guest Assistance Cards) and post #3 has links to some past threads about visiting WDW with someone with limited vision. There are several past threads about trip planning for small children with visual disabilities. Even though the OP was talking about children, there is a lot of good general information in those threads that would be applicable to all ages.
