A Foodies Delight! DxDP April 24-30 **Update 5/15**

This is the 2nd Citricos review I've read this week and now I can't wait until our trip. Citricos is our last dinner of that trip, so I wouldn't really be wishing the week away, but I'm glad we chose that for our "swan song". It all looks amazing!!

Epcot day!

So after a fun filled day of ride and intellect, my family and I headed to Via Napoli for lunch. We’ve been twice before on a last trip and were highly anticipating the same wonderful food and service.
We were not disappointed. I cannot say it was exactly the same since our service was not nearly as personable as the gents were last year, but she definitely knew her stuff.

I had the minestrone for an appetizer, despite the 80 degree heat outside. I love soup, and this one was very suitable to the weather. It was possibly the lightest soup one can find that has a nice subtle flavor. The fresh veggies made me think of summer! (not good though if you prefer soft, soggy cooked veggies in soup).

My entrée was simply spaghetti and meatballs. Nothing unique, but tasty none the less. I didn’t take a picture, but I’m sure you can imagine what it looked like. ☺

Dessert, also no pic, was quite nice. I had the Gelato Frizzante. It was the blood orange San Pellegrino drink mixed with vanilla ice cream. Really it tasted like a carbonated orange and cream drink.

Dinner that night, we drove back to Epcot and headed to Bistro de Paris. This was restaurant we haven’t dined at in a few years, so I couldn’t remember if it was worth the wait, since they were definitely running behind. We waited about 20 minutes for our 8:30 reservation!

When we sat down I was starving! So my starter was the marinated tuna. It was good, again, not anything that would stick out on my mind or bring me back. The flavor was a little too mild for my taste.

My entrée on the other hand was really delicious. The roasted duck breast with red cabbage. I really enjoy my veggies, probably more than most others, and red cabbage is no different. It was sweet and yummy ☺ The pairing with the perfectly roasted duck breast would, unlike my app, definitely make me want to return!

Dessert, I again skipped in favor of some coffee.

The next day we headed to Sanaa for lunch. I’ve never been, but was really looking forward to it (due to reviews and prospect of seeing the animals!)

Luckily, we were able to be sat by the windows, and there were some zebras and wildebeasts outside. Our server who’s name I cannot remember was beyond accommodating. If everyone were like him, Disney would be out of business! I had the bread and dips, which honestly, I would not order again. I felt very disappointed in myself. What I liked the best was the plain naan and red bell paper hummus. The red chile and tamarind were tasty, but both were a bit too strong (hot and sweet, respectively).

Entrée was a beef short rib and spicy Durban chicken with basmati rice. Long and short of it, the chicken was really well done. Not too spicy and tender. The short rib on the other hand was very meaty tasting, like a cheaper quality of meat. I did try the shrimp in green curry sauce as well since there was a lot of confusion when this came because my mother changed her order last minute. The shrimp were perfect and not spicy at all (what my mom was afraid of).
But like I said, despite telling our server that we were ok and nothing needed to be replaced even though the other was a little messed up, be brought out an 2 extra Durban chickens and the shrimp, also a bowl of yogurt, afraid it was too spicy.

Dessert, I ordered the hazelnut rooibos tea. This is my new favorite tea EVER. It needed nothing aside from some time to steep. I wish I could find it at a store! If anyone knows where to buy this PLEASE let me know!
He also brought out some very strong African coffee for my father, despite not having ordered anything. It too was very very good. After a few sips I could tell, I’d be bouncing off the walls if I had a whole cup.
I can't wait to return!

After roaming around the Animal Kingdom and lounging by the pool, we headed to Wolfgang Puck Upstairs- The Dining Room for dinner. Another restaurant we really enjoyed a number of years and ago. This time unfortunately did not live up to our expectations. Something about it was just not there. The food was good, but there are definitely placed I’d rather try or return to.

My duck spring rolls were very good. Not too greasy and nicely packed. I can say, I would order this again if given a choice.

My entrée was the filet mignon. The filet was overcooked to medium well and needed a bit of salt to give it proper flavor. The side of asparagus and potatoes were very average. The potatoes were also very dry and the asparagus, just from an aesthetic point of view, were SO large that it seemed unappetizing. You can't really tell from the photo, but trust me.

Dessert again, I opted out and had a glass of Vidal wine. The wine was very sweet and really nice though :good vibes

Maybe it was an off night, but I don't think I'd go back too soon. :confused3

Great review of Sanaa, thank for the pics as I am dining there on Sunday evening for the first time.

Try going to teavana.com

They have tons of roobios tea, we are lucky to have a store close by and I drop a small fortune every time I go in there.

I didn't need to know about this place! :) I have 2 within a few miles of my house. I know where I am headed this weekend. This may solve my birthday present quandary for my boyfriend! :)

Great review btw!

There's a teavana by me too, but I hate going in for 2 reasons. 1) They make me feel kinda awkward when I go in because of pushy sales people. and 2) I give into peer pressure and love tea, so I also drop a good chunk of change every time!

But alas the website does not have the rooibos I so desire.
Thanks for the suggestion though!
