Starting to catch up on your PTR just wanted to say hello first!! I am going back in January the same time you are there!! I am going with my mom :thumbsup2

I am loving your favorites sections so far...I am off to read more!

Shannon, did I know you were going in January? It looks as if I'll miss you by about ten days. :sad2:

Eat my buddie Pumbaa here 'cause he is a treat! A hundred dollar dine, a tasty swine,
all you gotta do is get in line. Are ya achin'?

(Pumbaa) Yup Yup Yup

(Timon) For some bacon?

(Pumbaa) Yup Yup Yup

(Timon) He's a big pig, You can be a big pig too! Oy! :rotfl:

Ahh now I have Disney songs stuck in my head and I should be working on my Anthropology essay!

Welcome! :goodvibes I'll have to read through your TR! It's so exciting to see somebody going the same time we are. Have you ever been in January before?

Definitely! I'm not sure which we're going to do.. My boyfriend is super excited for sweet potato pancakes (or he was, I think he's forgotten by now! It'll be a surprise :rotfl:)

We have about a month to go and I feel the same way! I can't believe the fall has passed so quickly. I have too much work to get done before going to Disney!! I still have so many things to buy!

After listening to some 101 Dalmatians and watching some bits and pieces online, I feel the need to put in 101 Dalmatians for something. I guess Favorite Kiss will do - there has to be some sort of kiss in that one. Roger and Anita/Pongo and Perdita certainly have the best meet cute. ;)

I haven't watched 101 Dalmations in a loooong time! Maybe that's a movie idea for our 1 month countdown. I'm planning on getting together a calendar to start marking off days as well but nobody has gotten back to me about doing the background for it on the disigns section. Haha, I would do it myself if I knew how. I'm so excited for you that you only have a month left. Are you doing a TR when you get back?! Please say yes!

My best friend here on the DIS (and the Queen of Food Porn--MickeyNicki) had breakfast at The Wave a couple of weeks ago -- they had the buffet and said it was OUTSTANDING.

I went over and found her review after reading this and it made me even more excited for this breakfast! :lovestruc Are you doing a TR for your January trip?

I went over and found her review after reading this and it made me even more excited for this breakfast! :lovestruc Are you doing a TR for your January trip?

I'm glad you found her review.

If I ever get done with my September TR, I'll be doing a PTR and a TR for my January girls only trip.

Sooooo, yeah. I'm not good at updating this 30 days of Disney thing. But I'm going to keep going with it anyways because it's fun!

Our deadline for paying off our trip is coming up next week so I figured I would get a jump on it and have DH call and pay for it tonight when he gets home from work. I can't wait! After that hopefully we'll get our Disney mail. We've gotten some mail so far from them but it's just been invoices for our bill

I've only got 2 weeks left of school and then a week of exams and then....I'M FREE!! (for a month at least). I'm so excited for it. I've just gotten the new Skyrim game (get it if you like those kinds of games, it's just awesome) and I've only played 3 and a half hours so far. So needless to say I'm going to be burning hours on that during my break. Plus Christmas is coming up soon! I haven't even come up with any idea's for DH's presents. We usually set a budget of $200 for each other because we don't have kids and we both love getting presents.

I was thinking of getting him some t-shirts from the Disney store but he didn't like any of them when I made him look through and tell me which one's he liked :rotfl: I, on the other hand, liked plenty of shirts from the store so maybe I'll get some for Christmas :thumbsup2

I've come up with some Disney 'projects' for me to do during my school break as well. I'm going to come up with a count down calendar that counts down 1month. And I am going to be putting together a notebook that I'm going to be writing all my notes and dining reviews in so I can do the TR when I get back :upsidedow It will be my first TR so I'm pretty stoked. Anyways I'll get on to the 30 days of Disney. I'm in such a hyper Disney mood right now because of the DIS radio! (I just discovered it and have been listening to it for the past half an hour!)

Day 20: Favorite Male Singing Voice

Brad Kane. It could be because I'm listening to this song on the DIS radio but I absolutely love his singing voice in 'A Whole New World' from Aladdin.

Day 21: Favorite Female Singing Voice

Lea Salonga who did Mulan and Jasmines singing voice.

Day 22: Happiest Moment

This is a hard one. I don't get over emotional at happy moments, usually only sad one's  If I had to pick one I would pick the moment when Rapunzel get's to finally see the lanterns up close.

Day 23: Saddest Moment

Okay this was a toss up because for years (ever since I was a little girl actually) the saddest moment ever was when Mufasa died in The Lion King. I've bawled my eyes out every time I've watched that scene. However...I think I have to go with the whole montage of Carl and Ellie's life in Up. I cried so hard when I first saw that movie. I couldn't stop. :sad2:

Same here!! And I was thinking of going online and paying when DH got home tonight :rotfl::cool1:

You sound end of year busy too and that's good because it makes the time go fast. But then things like deadlines sneak up on us and we have to fork out the big bucks!! It's really happening though and we will be at WDW before we know it.:cheer2::yay:

Oh Christmas. I've pushed back Christmas with my family until we visit in March but I'm laughably behind with other people. Oops! ;) Vacation is like a Christmas present, right??

20 and 21 are kind of a wash for me, nothing really stands out that I remember. Oooh, no, Billy Joel was in Oliver and Company. Automatic top of the list for him.

Happiest moment is probably when King Richard comes home in Robin Hood or the lanterns in Rapunzel or when Oliver is officially home in Oliver in Company (but mostly King Richard. I was obsessed with him and Eleanor of Aquitaine when I was younger. Also he has a best epithet EVER).

Saddest? Fox and the Hound. THE WHOLE MOVIE. Who okayed that one? Best thing to watch (or, you know, think about) if you need a good cry.

:wave2: I found your PTR just in time to get in on the end of it...less than three weeks 'til you're in WDW!! :woohoo:

I think you'll like POR, but I'm biased as it's my favorite of all the moderates. If you get a chance, be sure to take the boat to DTD. Awe! Some!

We will be taking the boat to DTD for sure! I have plans on the first day to take it. Thanks for joining in!

Okay, so I know I am laughably behind on this PTR. I got caught up in school and being stressed out because of exams and we just moved on December 1st so there has been tons of unpacking and stress and painting and did I mention stress? But its all quieted down now, my exams are done, most of the stuff is unpacked and we are almost done painting. Plus Christmas is in a few days so I am super excited about that.

I asked my DH the other day if he was excited for Christmas and he said yes but he was more excited for Disney. This is a big confession from him as he LOVES Christmas. This should give you an idea of just how needed this vacation is right now.

There has been a sligth change to the planned ADR's. Instead of going to La Hacienda on our EPCOT day we are going to be going the Rose & Crown instead. This was my decision because originally we each got to pick a restaurant from EPCOT to eat at that day and I picked La Hacienda. But when I was going over the menu a few weeks ago I realized there isn't really anything on the menu that appealed to me. So I changed it to Rose & Crown after much debating. I think we are going to like this choice better, and besides there is always future trips to try La Hacienda!

I am still planning on finishing the 30 days of Disney and I am almost done. So here are a couple thrown in for you!

Day 24: Scariest Moment

This is a no brainer for me, in fact I think I might have been scarred by this scene when I was younger. The beginning of Bambi when Bambi's mother dies. :scared1:

Have a little bit of a palette cleanser after thinking about that scene:

Day 25: Funniest Moment

I love when Pascal makes this gesture to Rapunzel! It's hilarious.

Day 26: Favorite Scenery/Background Art

priderock.jpg

There's just no camparison! It's beautiful.

I'll stop here but I will finish it within the 2 and a half weeks until our trip!

:santa: Merry Christmas everyone!! :santa:

I hope all of your wishes came true and you got to spend your holidays with loved one's!

I spent Christmas Eve with my mom's side of the family because we are European and that's what we have always done. And I spent Christmas day with my hubby's family and we hosted dinner at our place for the first time. Now that we've moved we actually have the space to do that :yay:

My DH got my some Disney pajama's which I love. They have Mickey and Minnie on the front and the pants are purple plaid, I love purple! He also got me a Disney calendar that has different trivia, sketches, concept art etc. for each day of the year! It's so awesome! I get to start my days with a little bit of Disney magic in 2012 :wizard:

What did you guys do for the holidays?

Your ADRs look really good! We adore PO. We had a split stay with POR and CSR in 2010. CSR was great but we still preferred POR. Hopefully you will not be too disappointed! :) The boat ride, movies and night entertainment at both POR and POFQ are great!

Oh how I wish I were going in one week!!!!!! :cloud9:

So lucky to be going after they tweaked stuff! I really wanted to do T-Rex but we couldn't justify it when we had 'free' meals left. Port Orleans is pretty awesome! If you want to be in the mansion section, our room was 8737 and it was an amazing location, river view and right next to the bridge to the mill. I'd definitely request that general area again!

What mansion did you guys get? I'm thinking of asking for a room in Magnolia Bend because it looks close to two bus stops and close to the main building. We booked a garden view and I wanted to get one of the refurbed rooms so hopefully they will be able to accommodate those requests. I am so happy they added those restaurants to the list! :goodvibes I've always wanted to eat at T-Rex, every time we would walk by I would be so jealous!

I am very much looking forward to the boat rides and the movies under the stars. I checked the Port Orleans website but they don't have anything up for the schedule of the movies yet. I'm so excited, I'm finally in the one week count down!

Day 27: Favorite Dance Scene

The "I've got a dream" dance scene! :rotfl:

Day 28: Favorite Quote

"I want adventure in the great wide somewhere. / I want it more than I can tell. / And for once it might be grand / To have someone understand / I want so much more than they've got planned..."

Day 29: Most Magical Moment

The moment that the Beast turns back into a human! :lovestruc

Day 30: Favorite Happy Ending

I loved the ending of Monsters Inc.! It made me so sad when Sully had to leave Boo behind so I'm glad it all worked out in the end.

Departure Day Updates

So originally we were going to get my sister-in-law to drive us down to the airport really early on our departure day so we could be at the airport by 3:30am for our 6:30am flight. But I started thinking about it and I realized that if we wanted to get down to the airport by that time we would have to get up at the latest 12:30am, which wouldn't leave us very much time to sleep. I looked into park and fly and sleep, park and fly and we decided to go with the sleep, park and fly. So we are going to drive down to Toronto around 5:00pm January 7th after DH gets off work and hopefully be there by 7:00pm. We'll probably eat and then go to sleep. Then we will get up by 2:00am and get the shuttle from the hotel to the airport so we are there for 3:30am. We can leave our car at the hotel for the week and then take the shuttle from the airport back to the hotel once we get home. I'm hoping this will make it less stressfull for everybody and make it so that we can get more sleep.

I thought I would share with you pages from my Disney calendar. I thought it would be a fun way to countdown the days until the trip! :goodvibes

So because I'm me I have to have a plan in place for everything! And this week is no exception. After all it IS a very important week. It's the week before we leave for Disney! :wizard: I've made up a list of things I want to get done this week:

-Get a refill prescription on my medication
-Get my roots of my hair dyed
-Pick up a box of Tim Horton's tea (I can't be in Disney for a week without my Timmie's!)
-Laundry (Of course!)
-Print off ADR lists and confirmations
-Print off a snack list that I made up to point us in the right directions of the snacks we would actually eat while in the parks
-Clean our turtle's tank and make sure he has fresh water to swim in while we're gone :cutie:
-Go and pick up my OSAP and school text books for this semester so that it's done when we get back (after all I'm going to be missing the first week of school)

....aaannnddd I think that's it for now.

I've made a sort of packing list as well. Surprisingly with my planning neurosis I don't do packing lists very much. I just make a list of the basic important items that I want to make sure I have and then when I'm actually packing I go from room to room and just throw things in the suit case that I want to bring. :thumbsup2

AHHHHH! Only 5 more days until we begin our traveling to get to Disney! :dance3:

Just read your PTR. Great job! Hope you have a wonderful time (I'm sure you will).

Nice selection of ADRs. We had breakfast at WPE for the first time in October and my DM loved her omelette so much that she went and thanked the chef. She's never done that before. It was perfectly cooked. I haven't reviewed it yet but I do have a QSDP Dining Report in progress. Can't wait to read your Dining Report when you return. ;)

Thanks for the offer of letting me know about Snacks at POR. :goodvibes I appreciate it. We made it to POFQ for beignettes and another time for dinner but we didn't get to POR in Oct.

HAVE FUN!:wizard:
