A Fly By The Seat Of Our Pants Last Minute Trip - PTR

Day 04: Favorite Princess

I can never seem to pick just one answer right away for these things! I contemplated between Ariel, Mulan and Belle. I love all three of these movies and I think that each of these princesses is a favorite of mine for different reasons. If I had to pick one I guess it would be Ariel!

The_little_mermaid_ariel-4944.gif

I love how even though she loved her father she still stood against him and stuck to her own beliefs about humans and how they aren't all bad. She was just so fierce about her love for Eric and went for it. It's an awesome love story and even though Eric does save her in the end I don't feel like the story was girl meets boy and boy saves girl. She really took a part in her own destiny. Okay I'm done :rotfl:

Day 05: Favorite Prince

I don't really like any of the Disney princes that much and when I was little none of them ever made me swoon  But I do happen to love the movie Hercules and he is the son of Zeus so I guess he's a prince. I love mythology and I think the character in the movie is awesome. So goofy and he's got that little boy charm thing going on. :thumbsup2 Oh by the way. When I was searching for pictures of Hercules I noticed one of a little girl posing with Hercules at Disney! I've never heard of him being a character in the parks before. I assume they don't still have him with the movie being so old but does anybody know if they do sometimes at least? :rotfl:

Okay so didn't get around to posting yesterday, hence the two days of 30 days of disney. But we did purchase our plane tickets yesterday! :goodvibes We always fly with Sunwing because they seem to have the best prices but this time around I forgot that when they show you the prices online its only for one way of the trip even if you click roundtrip in your search. So I got all excited when I first saw the prices and thought we were going to be getting two adult tickets roundtrip for $388 :lmao: Ahhh, as it turns out that's not how much it was going to be. It would have been double that. I was pretty sure I was going to be buy the tickets from them anyways but I decided to look around one last time for better prices. And I'm glad I did! We ended up finding a flight with CanJet for $180 cheaper :worship: So our official take off time from the Toronto YYZ airport is at 6:30am and we should be arriving in Orlando at 9:20am if all goes well :goodvibes We depart from Orlando at 10:00am and hopefully arrive back in Ontario at 12:55pm. I know some of you may be thinking I'm crazy but I love taking the first flights out because it means we get to be in disney sooner!

Less than 3 hours! You are so lucky. Our trip will take 21hrs counting the 4 hour stopover in Fort Worth and "if all goes well" we will arrive in Orlando at 9:00pm. :scared1:

As to your questions: Favourite Pixar- Finding Nemo; Favourite Princess- Belle; Favourite Prince- The Beast.

I've heard a lot about these beignets. Are they just doughnuts? Have you ever had them?

Yeah, they're kind of like doughnuts. Pretty much just deep fried dough covered with confectioner's sugar, so maybe doughnuts crossed with funnel cake? I've never had them myself but my boyfriend has and he swears up and down that I'll like them and he's usually dead-on with what I'll like.

Hmm.. I'm pretty sure my favorite princess is going to be Merida (big shocker there ;)) but since her movie hasn't come out yet... Eilonwy or Megara (even though neither are official princesses technically), I guess!

Favorite prince is definitely tied between Hercules and Kuzco. Love those two. Naveen is a close runner-up, though!

Congratulations on getting your flight! It seems to be a common strategy to get first/last flights out on the DIS so you're in good company. :) We're driving partially because I didn't want to give up any park time for waiting-in-the-airport time (also because we're visiting my boyfriend's family blah blah blah. Clearly the important thing here is that we have plenty of time for a Whispering Canyon Cafe dinner! :lmao:)

21 hours?! :scared1: I don't think I could do that long of travel even for Disney. We've never done a stopover. I just couldnt imagine sitting in airport for hours waiting for the next flight.

Obviously! :lmao: Is it your first time at Whispering Canyons? We've never been and I was debating putting it in this trip.

Brave looks so good. I can't wait until it comes out. Merida's not an official princess but she is a princess in the movie so I say it counts! :woohoo:

Okay, so apparently I'm really bad with remembering to come and post for the 30 days of disney everyday :rolleyes1 Please forgive me!

Day 06: Favorite Hero

Maybe the fact that I just watched this movie is clouding my judgement but I'd have to pick Flynn Rider (aka Eugene Fitzherbert)!

Flynn-Rider-s-wallpaper-disney-heroes-18115628-1024-768.jpg

He's just goofy and I really like his humor in Tangled. Plus I felt like he was a really sincere character in the movie with his feelings towards Rapunzel.

Day 07: Favorite Heroine

200px-Fa_Mulan.jpg

I loved Mulan when I was little and would watch it over and over again! Mushu was always a favorite character of mine and I picked Mulan as my favorite heroine because she really was the heroine of the movie! She stood up for what she thought was right even if nobody believed in her and I just think the movie sent out a really good message to little girls.

Day 08: Favorite Villain

I'm going to have to pick:

3scar-jpg.jpg

It was between Scar and Ursula for this one. But I picked Scar because I love his music numbers in the Lion King  Plus there's just something so sneaky and calculating about him! And I felt like he had a real reason to be a villain.

Happy Halloween Everybody!

So last night me, DH, my brother in law and some of our friends went to Canada's Wonderland Halloween Haunt for the first time. It was really fun and it made me even more excited to go to Universals Halloween celebration next year. We went through plenty of haunted house type things and got scared quite a bit. Don't you just love people jumping out at you? ;) We went on a few rides but nothing really big. Well DH and the brother in law went on a roller coaster that the rest of us wouldn't go on. It was called 'The Bat'! :rotfl: I'm not really a big fan of big roller coasters and in fact it's a miracle I even go on ToT. Anyways I just thought I would update with this and if anyone is thinking of going to this event next year, do so! It was really fun and we would definitely go again sometime!

Me on the left and my friend on the right! Sorry its so grainy but we took it with my friends phone. I think I might have also gotten a cold from last night, right before my midterm tommorow! Doh!

Oh by the way. Can anybody give me directions on how to put these posts something that is clickable for the main post so people dont have to sort through all the posts? It would be great!

Obviously! :lmao: Is it your first time at Whispering Canyons? We've never been and I was debating putting it in this trip.

Brave looks so good. I can't wait until it comes out. Merida's not an official princess but she is a princess in the movie so I say it counts! :woohoo:

It's going to be our first time but my boyfriend requested it specially. I'm not expecting it to be a gourmet meal or anything but it sounds fun!

Haha, my answers for hero/heroine are pretty much the same as for prince/princess. I didn't realize they were supposed to be separate categories! ;) My favorite villain is probably Yzma/Kronk (hm, there's a theme here...) but Scar and Mother Gothel are runners up for sure.

Yeah I didn't realize they were seperate categories until I got to these days either :rotfl:

Whew! Okay time is just flying by here and I keep forgetting to update the days of Disney! ;) I've got just over 4 weeks of school left before my exams and I can't wait! we will be moving December 1 and I am so excited for that as well. It will be such a relief to get away from this landlord and our upstairs neighbours. Plus it will be a big bonus to have more room! Anyways on to 30 days of Disney.

Day 09: Favorite Couple

Day 10: Favorite Animal Sidekick

I couldn't pick just one out of these two so they go together! Timon & Pumbaa! C'mon how could you not love these guys? :lovestruc

Also OMG hay u guyz, real life timon and pumbaa!

Day 11: Favorite Non Animal Sidekick

Day 12: Favorite Parent

I'm going to with Mufasa on this one!

mufasa.png

I've always thought he was so wise and an awesome parent!

I was reading the new all ears review of The Wave for breakfast and the menu there really got me wanting to try it. We've never eaten there before but I really want to try the sweet potato pancakes. So I switched our Chef Mickeys ADR for January 9 @ 7:05am to The Wave @ 7:30am. I think we might try the new buffet there because I've heard that they have a lot of the offerings from the regular menu available in the buffet. :goodvibes I'm super excited about this breakfast!

Day 14: Favorite Castle

This is a no brainer! The Beasts castle! How could you ever think about any other castle when this one has the library that it does?! :lovestruc I couldn't find a good picture of it but I'm sure you all know what it looks like. After all it will be finished in Disney World in a little bit :goodvibes

We're going to the Wave for breakfast one day as well! I agree, the menu sounds really delicious and interesting; I've been looking for information about the buffet they had but it's been surprisingly sparse.

These are hard choices! Maybe I don't watch Disney movies frequently enough.

Favorite couple: Meg/Hercules OR Maid Marion/Robin Hood. I can't believe I forgot about Robin Hood earlier! I love that movie.

Animal sidekick: Archimedes from Sword in the Stone.

Non-animal sidekick: This one's hard. Aren't like all of them animals?? OH WAIT. Brave Little Toaster is Disney. They're my favorite!

Parent: Mother Gothel ;) She's certainly the most interesting!

Magic Object: Mary Poppins' bag. How much fun would that be? Great space saver on plane flights as well.

Castle: Corona, in Rapunzel! That whole island is gorgeous. And the lantern festival! Just beautiful.

Well since you're going to The Wave before us for breakfast you will have to let me know how the buffet is. I couldn't find very much information on it either other than the price and that it offers a lot of the same selections as their regular menu.

Maid Marion and Robin Hood are a pretty cute couple together :lovestruc

On another note I found a link to a whole bunch of Disney recipes today and I so eager to try some of them out. :yay: We usually make a 2 week long grocery list and we just went so I will have to wait another week and a half to make some of these delicious looking recipes!

OH BY THE WAY! I completely forgot until I saw my ticker when I posted this but its my two month countdown today! Where is the time going?! Not that I'm complaining because it means I am closer to being in Disney. We watched Hercules last night on our On Demand so I'm going to count that as the movie we watched to celebrate! Haha. DH doesn't get home from class until late tonight and I am sick and don't want to be up too late.

Starting to catch up on your PTR just wanted to say hello first!! I am going back in January the same time you are there!! I am going with my mom :thumbsup2

I am loving your favorites sections so far...I am off to read more!

Definitely! I'm not sure which we're going to do.. My boyfriend is super excited for sweet potato pancakes (or he was, I think he's forgotten by now! It'll be a surprise :rotfl:)

We have about a month to go and I feel the same way! I can't believe the fall has passed so quickly. I have too much work to get done before going to Disney!! I still have so many things to buy!

After listening to some 101 Dalmatians and watching some bits and pieces online, I feel the need to put in 101 Dalmatians for something. I guess Favorite Kiss will do - there has to be some sort of kiss in that one. Roger and Anita/Pongo and Perdita certainly have the best meet cute. ;)

My best friend here on the DIS (and the Queen of Food Porn--MickeyNicki) had breakfast at The Wave a couple of weeks ago -- they had the buffet and said it was OUTSTANDING.
