A few weird things we saw people do on our trip

Wow.....the cm's really don'l like us, do they???

Does anyone think it is ok to strip down your 12 year old naked in the train line, or let your kid fall off the train because you are not watching them when they are dancing on the seat?

There are an awful lot of discussions here about rude CMs or "un-Disney" CMs. If the guests are going to vent about the CMs, it would stand to reason that the CMs would also be venting about the guests.

And as this thread has shown, there is a decent supply of guests that deserve it. Fortunately they're the exceptions which is why they stand out. It's always the people that go out of their way to be extra nice or extra stupid/rude, that you remember the most.

I'm terribly sorry to have bothered you. But yes ... I responded to the post when I saw it and did NOT read through the other posts. My sincerest apologies.

Don't worry about them--I thought it was funny--and I tend to read long threads oddly--I will pick a page in the middle and then jump around---big deal.

Some people have to play the superior game. It's ok by me--if it makes you feel better, then all the more power to you!

Oh, and yes, I did read the comments after this one! LOL!

I hope they told the guy that they would replace his poncho for free if it ever ripped/tore or whatever. That would (should) have shut him up. They don't HAVE to do that but I sure am glad they do! I have one that ripped while we were there last. We kept saying "We need to replace this poncho." but in the next breath...."We'll do it on the way out." Needless to say, it never happened. (It's our DN's. We're gonna replace it when we go back next month.....FOR FREE!)

I didn't know about this. That's good to know. Ah the things you learn on the Dis :goodvibes

I believe her point wasn't that everyone should stand in line but rather that, if you're in for a long wait, share your empty table and chairs until your party shows up. We have done that before and often they are done before our food arrives. But sometimes, they linger and then there's not enough room for my family to sit and enjoy our meal. We have met some really nice people this way, though, like the pp said.

Thank you.--at least one person seems to have understood what I was trying to say. I have no issue at all with part of the family finding seats and waiting off line, while one or two adults go to wait in line for their food. My post was regarding the 'saving' of an additional, unoccupied table & chairs--seating that could have been put to use by an elderly couple who already had their food in hand (and no place to sit down to eat). Would that really have been such a terrible thing? It wasn't like I was suggesting that the people already sitting give up their seats--but that it would have been kind to allow the unoccupied seats to be used by someone who needed them. :confused3

Even if all of our seats are taken, we've been known to squash in to make extra room for more people before. I don't think it's a big deal to share my table, and it's a great way to meet people. :thumbsup2

Last week we heard a Dad drop an F bomb on his daughter in Mickey's Judges Tent.* It was time to meet Mickey and the little girl was having a hard time getting untangled from the stuff she was carrying.* Instead of helping her, Dad says, "Get up here" (with an F bomb in there).* The girl didn't even look up, so obviously she's used to it, but a CM said, "That's OK, Princess" and helped her get up there with Mickey.* It was definitely not so :sad2: magical for that family or anyone around them.
that kills me. i have a 5 yr old and we do not talk like that nor is she around people who speak like that and it is so annoying to be in wdw especially and have to hear people with that kind of language. i wish people would have more sense than to use that type of language in front of children. sorry just had to vent about that one. i was at a store the other day and the employee came in to wrk through the store on her cell phone with the worst language right in front of my DD. i had to tell the manager.

No one was playing the superior game. If you read the comments I said we were just joking and being sarcastic and I apologized to him for feeling singled out when he was not.

Perhaps we would've been acting superior if we had USED BIGGER FONT!

Seriously, we were just having fun. No harm intended.

It's amazing to me how many people think, simply because they rented an ECV, that they have the right of way.

Oh you have struck a nerve with me! We were at Hollywood studios last week. A Couple was walking through the gate, had made it up to the Gas Station area. We were leaving, we had a Safari to go to. A elderly woman came shooting across the pavement in a EVC at what seemed to be full speed. The couple had a 3 or so year old. He had run in front of them. They were calling his name, I litteraly had to lunge at him to stop him from being run over by the EVC. The woman never ever saw him or was she even slowing down. She was heading somewhere in a hurry, maybe the front bathroom, over by the Gas Station. I told the little boy, "you are going to get run over!" The Elderly woman just looked at me like I was stupid or something!:confused3 We proceeded out, all ended up fine. Those things are a menace when the right person is not behind the wheel! I realize they are needed, but come on! Some of us are still walking!

Then I heard another woman fussing at her family for not keeping up with her. The man replied, " that he could not run all day long and she needed to slow the thing down!" I almost laughed, if it had not been so sad. She was serious and he was too.

My mom is not able to walk long distances, I have tried to get her to come with us, I told her about EVC, she will not get on one. She just refuses!

I'm sure the CMs have no problem with the large majority of guests they come across. It's just the rude and obnoxious ones that hit a nerve and get remembered. I work at a big retail store and meet at least a few ignorant people on a daily basis... and those are the people who I remember and tell other people about.

TRUE.......same with my job....although there are so few nice people we really remember them!!! the stories are kinda amazing, I can't imagine them dealing with that mess day in and day out!!!

Some useful phrases I ran through an english to portugese translator online.

suppose so......

I work in the sort of "complaint" department of a government agency and I'm glad these things happen else where (even in Disney) because I was starting to think all the nit-wits called me:lmao: !

Here's my bizzare Disney "I can't believe these people":sad2: story. Spring break 2003, we are staying at PORS. We go to grab lunch at the food court, find a seat and begin eating. Just then a family of what seemed like thirty sits next to us. The mother sits the baby (dressed in only a diaper) on the table! Just then the little bugger proceeds to piddle and it runs out of the diaper onto the table! YUK! Now what do mommy and the thirty others do? Clean it up? Apologize? NO... they start laughing  and walk away! We sat stunned, no longer hungry, and flagged down a manager to make sure things were "taken care of" before any one else sat there. (Much to her credit, the manager roped off the area, removed the whole table and chair set, then apologized to us and paid for our lunch:thumbsup2 )

To this day, when we go back to PORS, we avoid that area of the food court! Just the thought of that makes me nausious!

We use to be guilty of this. This is because Magic Kingdom use to be all there was for us to visit. It was Disney. We use to travel just for MK and do every single thing in the park, not just our favorites ( as we do now) it would take two good days. Then back home we went.

I can still remember doing every thing in the Magic Kingdom with A,B,C,D,and the Big E tickets. Then we would have to buy more E tickets for $.90 this was all the big rides. Most of these are now Fast Pass rides. Then there were the great Free Rides, that were just wonderful because they were air conditioned.

Me too. I am always calling MK Disney World. It confuses the heck out of my husband.

um, no....why? :confused3

Very useful! I just need to find a pronounciation guide; I don't think all of those words are pronounced the same in Portugese as they are in Spanish.

Wow.....the cm's really don'l like us, do they???

They LOVE us - because WE are all considerate, helpful, mostly cheerful Guests who appreciate their hard work and hand out CM appreciation cards and verbal compliments all the time.

It's just the morons and the jerks that they don't like. As long as you're not a moron or a jerk, then they're not complaining about you. I'm neither, so I know they're not complaining about me. Well, sometimes I'm a jerk, but I really try not to be...

um, no....why? :confused3

Those were some of the things that a CM was complaining about in that link that was posted earlier. I was responding that CMs do not dislike guests, just the ones that would do those two things!
