Hey everyone, I was previously at Disneyland Paris in September 09 and we had a ball, it was just me, my partner and my 3 year old son and we really did have a great time.

The only complaint I really had was the food, I didn't really like it and we did struggle to find nice things to eat.

I'm planning another trip in September again and this time there will be 4 of us as I have a 15 month old.

1.I was wondering is there a list somewhere which will show me exactly which rides are suitable for babies, I know all the attractions on the disney website show whether they are suitable for families but I haven't came across a simple list that will tell me exactly what she can go on.

2. As I said we didn't really like the food and please bear with me here as I'm going to sound very fussy but as I said we had a ball in disneyland but the food was the only thing that let it down for us, it sickened me to be paying so much for food that we didn't really enjoy so i'm going to list out where I ate and if any of you have any more suggestions on places you think I would like then please please let me know!:)

For our main meals:

We liked Annettes (although that's not really our thing).
We hated Walt's,
We didn't like the food in Cafe Mickey (although we would definitely have to go back for a character meal there anyway)
I didn't like the Chef remy buffet (I like piping hot food and felt quite ill eating only lukewarm food)
We liked the Steakhouse (the one in the Village) I'm not a big steak eater but it was so nice to get some mashed potato there after eating food we didn't really like all week.

For breakfasts:

We didn't eat the breakfasts in the hotel and instead got Croque Monsieurs in the Market house Deli or lemon muffins in Mcdonalds and we had a breakfast in Cafe Mickey which I think was the only place I got real milk on my whole stay.

For snacks:
Pizzeria Belle Notte and Hakuna Matata were ok but would probably have preferred sandwiches or something............the Croque Monsieurs ran out very quickly after morning and I didn't like the rolls from there as they had Pate on them, I did get a sandwich from New York style sandwiches and it was lovely although it was quite an ordeal to get one made freshly with butter instead of pate or mayonnaise. We also had some hotdogs at the hotel. We don't like brioches or things like that so any suggestions for where to snack or have light meals would be fab.

We booked a tea party but all that sugar was not good, it felt like there wasn't much variety and we wouldn't go back.

Any suggestions for things to buy at the supermarket in Val D'Europe which we could make ourselves in the evenings, considering there's no fridge in the rooms?

My God, I sound like the fussiest eater ever but i'm not really, I'd eat anything at all at home but the food in Paris made me :sad2:

3. The cinema in Disney village, do they have any showings in English?

4. Is the nightclub completely closed now?

I'd appreciate any help at all, Thanks :)

Hello and welcome to Dis

To answer the easy questions first:

Yes the nightclub has now closed

The cinema only occasionally shows films in English. If you go on their website (Gaumont) and look at the listings if its in English it will say VO after it (Version Originale) if its in French - VF (Version Francaise)

As for food Im surprised you didnt like Walts. What type of foods do you like?

Inventions has the most amazing mashed potatoe but is a buffet and is very expensive if you end up not liking it.

A lot of people order a pizza to share in Cafe Mickey

Ive never eaten at the hotel restaurants apart from in DLH but a lot of people really like the ones in S Lodge

For snacks - Ive never known the sandwiches to have pate on them - I realy like the ham and cheese baguettes and have had them from Market house deli, Cable car bake shop, Victorias, a few places in the studios.
Also did you try Caseys for hot dogs.
Theres also an Earl of sandwich just opened - theres a seperate thread on it with the menu.

If you look at the top of the page at the restaurant sticky a lot of them have updated menus added thanks to Carrie Cat.

Theres also a thread on getting fresh milk somewhere

Can I ask why you didnt have the breakfasts in the hotel? Was it timing or did you just not fancy the food?

Hi Missbambam,

Elaine, Jackie, Elaine and Reid welcome you to the DLP DIS board :flower3:

We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here

Maybe if you could give us an idea of what you eat/where you eat when you go out together for meals in the UK, we could point you in a similar direction for DLP?

Jothtp, thanks for the link for the height restrictions, I actually looked at all the menus loads of times before I went the first time and made a list of everywhere I thought i'd like, that's why I was so disappointed I think, I was really expecting to enjoy my food :(

A small world, thanks for the answers,
I was really expecting to love Walt's, we were disgusted as we got mashed potato and it had lemon in it, it was pretty revolting, my main dish wasn't nice at all, OH's was edible but it wasn't great and my son's food was terrible too, the service wasn't great either and there was a large group next to us who didn't like their food either. I wouldn't risk going back at that price!

I will have to check out the SL restaurant and thanks for your suggestions for snacks.

We got very early breakfast passes that didn't really suit us and at home we normally had milky breakfasts and from what i'd read at the time the breakfasts consisted of things like rolls/meats/cheese and nutella things like that which we wouldn't eat for breakfast!

Dpldaft, i'm actually from Ireland, myself and my OH prefer normal everyday food, love a nice sunday carvery if we go out or for restaurants we love Italian food or just somewhere with a nice bit of variety, there's not many things I wouldn't eat, that's why I found it so disappointing there :sad2:

You can request a later slot (though it will mean it is slightly busier and eat into your EMH time.) You can also go later than your allotted time too. There are also some cereals available at breakfast too. Not sure what types as I don't personally go for this here but there seemed to be a good range. :thumbsup2

Also, menus have changed very recently for a lot of places, I'd look at them all again. We really enjoyed Annette's last year for burgers, and I had a reasonable pasta from Cafe Mickey.

Earl of Sandwich is now open too, so it might be worth a look at the types of stuff they do too.

Hi
We had a lovely meal in the Chuckwagon in the Cheyenne on our first trip. Great choice I must say.
For breakfasts expect Special K, Cornflakes, Coco Pops and Rice Crispies in the hotel plus cold meats, cheese, rolls, spreads etc.
Also love Annettes and if all else fails and you want to eat something you know theres McDonalds. Did you try Planet Hollywood either?

Yep, Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe, even King Ludwigs for roast chicken, might be more to your taste than the French-influenced food at Walts. I do think Cafe Mickey food is okay at best, but you're paying for the character interaction, and even if its not been the best food ever, I've always managed to eat my meal there (we usually share pizza there now, as they are so big).

To be honest, if you only like proper milk, you're going to struggle at all the restaurants in DLP, as UHT is the norm all over France.

Thanks Loodlesnoodles :) It was stupid of me not to even check out the breakfasts while I was there, i'll check the next time!

Just had a quick look at Earl of Sandwich, it looks fab, sounds perfect for snacks :thumbsup2

Hi Kizzabel :)
Is Chuck wagon a buffet? Annettes is really lovely I agree, it's a definite for the next trip!

Hi DLPdaft, King Ludwigs sounds like a definite option thanks! We didn't go to Planet Hollywood or the rainforest cafe as we had half board vouchers, I might give them a go this time though as they look good, would you say they are similar to Annettes?

I was thinking that about the milk :sad2: We'd been in Paris for a week before we went to Disneyland and no fresh milk at all anywhere (except an Irish bar but they heated it up ) and I was pregnant at the time and had literally been guzzling pint after pint of milk at home in the weeks before we went on our holidays so I was craving it really bad.

I've got some great suggestions from you all, thanks!

Yeah the Chuckwagon is a buffet.
Have you tried Toad Hall? They do fab fish and chips.
Lol had those cravings on my first, and it had to be Avonmore full fat.

Oh I know, could not get enough milk :) I used to drink it a lot anyway but being pregnant I could not stop drinking it, went to France...no milk anywhere :sad2:

Ooh nice i'll have to visit Toad hall, I'm Optimistic about enjoying my food for this next visit, can't wait now!!

we went for the first time last november and we too were not v.impressed with the food! We didnt like walts or toad hall. Our favourite was the rainforest cafe but was expensive. Annettes was ok but not really our type of food. Our kids love mash and sausage. There was a small bar just next to disney store that did pizzas etc we liked for small meals and was really reasonable priced. But unfortunately we did end up at mcdonalds alot and felt like we were on detox when we got back!!
