hey I'm new here, my parents are going to take me to Disney in Florida once all of my cancer treatments are done. We're hoping that everything will be done and over with by December so we'll probally be going sometime at the begining of the month. Anyway I've started looking at all of the info about the park and have a few questions that I figured that some of you guys who have been to Disney before would be able to answer.

-If you went in December is it a good time of year to go? What is the weather like? How long were ride lines?
-What hotel did you stay in? How clean was it? Did you stay in a regular or prefered room?
-Did you buy the meal plan? Was it worth it? What restaurants did you go to? What kind of food was there to choose from?

Any other tips or recomendations for someone who's never been to Disney?!

I have been told by several people that the best time to go in December is like around the second week in December. There are hardly no lines/wait times. And the temperatures are around the 70's. This is when we are planning our next trip.

Welcome!:cheer2:
December is a beautiful time to be in WDW! The weeks before Christmas weeks are the best to avoid large crowds. The weather can be warm and
can be very chilly as well. We love Animal Kingdom Lodge with a Savannah view-you can see animals right outside your balcony! We also like the Caribbean Beach Resort-any view is beautiful! Also, the Fort Wilderness cabins are a little more roomy, private, and have complete kitchens! All have been very clean. We have not purchased the meal plan yet, but I have read that it is worth it-you can do a search on Disney Dining Plan and get lots of info right on this site about it. We love Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom-its
a Pooh character buffet and has great food! Also, Liberty Tree Tavern is
great for family style dining and is also in Magic Kingdom. I've only named a couple of favorites, but check out the Restaurant section, and I think you will even find menus-I think all of the food at WDW is outstanding. I hope you and your family have a great trip!

the first two weeks in December are a great time to go.the christmas spirit is in full swing but there are hardly any lines for the rides.the weather is good, very spring like.
The disney back yard bbq is great for the kids because they can get up close to Mickey,Minnie and friends.

we did the Aloha character breakfast and it was great(but i have read on the board that it has gone down a bit)

The sci-fi diner at MGM is GREAT,it is set like a drive tho movie....V.cool!!

we have stayed at Disney movies and The caribbean Beach and both where Very clean and the food was good.

hope your family has a great time and wish you good health.

We have been doing the Dining Plan since 2005 and recommend it. Yes, it can be a lot of food, but if you will be doing DiSney restaurants for most meals -- get it !

Have a great trip !

we went dec of last year. 2nd-8th. not too crowded, lines weren't too bad. wanted to kill the cheerleaders at times.

we stayed at the caribbean. absolutely beautiful. very clean and quiet. we had a regular room, not a preferred and it really wasn't bad. it is a really large resort, but we don't mind walking.

dining plan was totally worth it. lots of food. we had a ton of snack credits left at the end. we ate at old port royale, raglan road, wolfgang puck express, crystal palace (breakfast), columbia harbor house, teppanyaki, lotus blossom, sunshine seasons, garden grill, coral reef, brown derby, tusker house, tonys. the only place i didn't like was tony's. everything else was wonderful. you can see the menus on www.allearsnet.com
