A few questions about Islands of Adventure

We are planning on going to Islands of Adventure tomorrow.

1. How early does the park open?

2. Is there just one parking lot for both parks, or is there one just for Islands of Adventure? (I assume there will be signs?)

3. Can we spend a full day at this park? (Is there enough to do?)

The park usually opens at 9:00AM

There is ONE parking garage area (technically there's 2 garages, but they converge) for both parks, and as you're exiting you'll converge on some conveyor belts to CityWalk, its VERY easy to see where you are at that point. To the left is Islands of Adventure and to the right is Universal Studios.

Yes, there is plenty of things to do to spend a full day there, if you don't mind some more thrilling style attractions

Be there at 8:30A. Head to Harry Potter first if that is important. Marvel Island next. Ride the main rides ASAP.

A full day is EASY at this park - soak it all in and enjoy. :)

Thank you!

We're taking our 10 yr old son since he is so into Harry Potter right now.

I kind of thought it would be ridiculous to purchase a ticket that included both parks for one day this time of year. I guess we'll just have as much fun at this one park.

I appreciate the input :)

I agree--just focus on the one park and have fun!

1) Tomorrow IOA is actually open from 8am- 9pm. Since it is a busy time right now, I would get there as early as you can.

2) There is one parking lot for both parks. It is a bit of a walk from the parking lot to IOA. You have to walk through the parking lot, through baggage check, through City Walk, and then to IOA. I would say that it is a 15 or so minute walk give or take depending on how fast you walk.

3) You can definitely spend a full day. There is enjoy to do and you are also going during a busy time.

I hope you have a great time tomorrow!

I would recommend getting there early but do WWoHP later in the day when the crowds have calmed down. If you head to WWoHP first thing, you are going to have to battle all those others who want to do it first thing not to mention the onsite hotel guests who will already be in line.

If you save WWoHP until later, you will be able to do the rest of the park with little or no lines...especially early. If you waste time waiting in the HP lines in the morning you will have to deal with lines all day. Spiderman might be backed up since onsite guests have early entry for Spiderman too.

IOA is such a great park for boys. It's got Harry Potter, dinosaurs, comics, superheroes, a great playground with caves and tunnels, another playground on a boat, a superhero autograph signing parade, 3 really fun water rides, and exciting roller coasters. What else could a boy ask for? ;)

I hope the OP got the info that the park opens at 8!!!

It's not too bad for girls either. My long dormant inner girl got all excited when I saw Storm and Rogue for the first time. Actual girl superheroes.... :)

I hope that the OP had a good time.

Thanks for all the help. :)

Although disappointed with some things, our son had a good time.
