I went to DL last Wednesday with my Papa, his partner Paul (my step-dad), and my DH2B to celebrate my 27th birthday (6/13) & Father's Day. As a Father's Day present, I surprised my dad & Paul to lunch at Club 33. Although the park was crowded with kids from the local elementary & jr. high schools, we had a great time! Here are a few pics from our day.

Hi PryncessChrysty,
Thanks for posting your photos, it looks like you had a great time. :flower:
It seems as if you have a terrific relationship with your dad and step-dad, they both look like a lot of fun.
It was lovely to be part of your DL day!
P.S when is the wedding? :lovestruc

What a great way to spend your birthday/Father's Day with the special men in your life. Looking at the dessert is making me very hungry.

More details!!!!!! What did you eat? Did you get pictures of the toilets? Did you buy any special things from the club? Where is the giant storybook? And most importantly, how did you get in? Thanks.

You're so right, they are both SO much fun. I am a very lucky girl to have such a close relationship with my dad, I've always been a daddy's girl. Always have, always will. princess: (I'm doubly lucky though, as I'm also very close to my mom). :goodvibes

Now for the wedding, we're planning for the next year or two. We've already been together for 6 years, and lived together for 5 1/2, so I guess it's safe to say that we're not in a rush. ;) LOL

LOL, I'm sorry, I can't believe I left all of that out! :rotfl:

As for getting in to the club, I have some friends that were willing & able to help me out with that, and I am very thankful to have them! (I'm also thankful to get to eat there without having to pay the dues! LOL Is that wrong of me?? For any of you that might have to pay the dues, know that I don't do this very often at all, nor does the friend who shared their membership with me :teeth: )

Now, for the food....I ordered the three-by-three tortellini, which was pretty good. It was a giant plate, with four smaller dishes; in one was tortellini with pesto (my favorite), the 2nd was tortellini with meat sauce (it was good), and a 3rd was tortellini with a pinot noir sauce & soy beans (this was okay). In the 4th dish was a garlic crouton type of thing. All of the boys had the steak, and they were all undercooked. They didn't care, though, all they wanted was a turkey leg afterward. We were pretty much only there for the experience, and they only ordered the steak because you have to order an entree. There was a salad buffet with caesar salad, garden salad, shrimp, crab legs & lobster. As well as a cheese assortment, fruit and a few different pasta salads. Just about everything from the salad buffet was delicious. Then there was the dessert buffet with cheesecake, a lemon cake, chocolate cake, fruit tarts, that chocolate raspberry dessert, chocolate pudding and a selection of sauces (strawberry, raspberry & chocolate) to add to any of the desserts. I had the cheesecake with strawberry sauce, it was very good.

We did not purchase any souveniers, other than the stack of Club 33 napkins my dad yanked from the bathroom after I told him I thought they were kind of cool. LOL I didn't get any pics of the bathroom, either. It was crowded when I went in there, and if you've been in there, you know there isn't much room for anything, especially if it's crowded. :crowded:

The giant storybook is in the animation area in the Hollywood Backlot at DCA. When you walk straight in and you're in the room with all of the screens around you, if you go to the left where they have the display cases, it's in there in the center of that room. (I love that place, especially the Sorcerer's Workshop).

What nice pictures! Thanks for sharing your special day with us. It really looks like you all are having a blast. :)

Thanks for posting those! I really think the second to last picture *with your dad and step-dad* is so cute! :sunny:

Thank you for sharing. What a great way to spend Father's Day. Unfortunately my Dad hates DL! Can you believe it? pirate:
