We are toying with the possibility of requesting a grand villa for about 5 days in Aug 2007. We can only book OKW at the 7 month window. How good do you think our chances are of getting one? How many grand villas are there at OKW? Would I have to book it day by day? Also, which buildings are they located in (we like to be near a pool)?

Thanks for any info you can give us!!! party:

I don't know the exact number of GV's @ OKW, but I do know that they have the most of any resort. I would think that you should be able to reserve at 7 months. Another option may be to have an OKW owner make the reservation for you and do a point swap.
We have stayed in at GV in bldg. 48 two times and it is just across the street from a quiet pool. I think any GV will be fairly close to either the main pool or one of the quiet pools.
Good Luck and enjoy that GV!

There are either 27 or 29 GVs at OKW (can't remember for sure). If you are going mid to late August, I don't think you will have any trouble, but I always book GVs day by day at the 11 month window. OOPS, I just noticed you need 7 month window. I thin there is actually a resonable chance of getting that too, as long as it is mid to late August. Ill go retrieve the OKW map that shows where the GVs are and post it here in a minute.

Here's the map.

Dianeschlicht - thanks for the map.

A couple of questions - HA - what does HA stand for; the buildings circled in red?

Do the rooms GV (in yellow) only have villas, or are there other types of rooms there too?

We are staying in a Studio and I'm trying to figure out which building location we would prefer.

Our first trip home in May :cool1: :cool1:

HA stands for handicap accessible and each building has a combination of units there will be some studios, 1 BR and 2 BR. I believe that studios are frequently on the ends of the buildings if not always. Our personal favorite area is South Point buildings 54, 55, and 56 but there is really no bad area. The one studio I did not care for was building 51 where the bus turn around is. Have a great trip.

All buildings have villas. The studios are on the ends of all buildings with 1,2, or 3 bedroom villas in the middle. A lot of the GV buildings have 2 studios, 2 1 bedrooms, and 2 2bedroom villas underneath the GVs, since all but one of the GVs are on the 2nd floor.

Thanks everyone - we are getting so excited and we are still 2 months away. Can't stand the wait.

FYI, request should be made at the time the reservation is made. It is not adviseable to ask for a specific building, but a broader range of what you want i.e. close to a pool or bus stop, non-smoking etc. We always take what we get, and have rarely been disappointed.
