The first thing was that the Main Street Gallery is closing on the 15th of march. The 3d art will be put out in the other stores on Main Streeet and the artist I talked with was not sure what would happen with the 2d art.... I will miss this store a lot. I always seem to find what I was looking for in this one...

I also heard that the Super Trader Program ends this month at Epcot. I heard this at Epcot and at DTD... Super Trader Mike is no longer with Disney as he has moved on to bigger and better things... We all wish him luck... and want to thank him for all he has done... and Super Trader Amy has moved up in the company so it only left Super Trader Darrian... My guess here is that pins have spread to far park wide for one group of folks at one park to be doing just this. It was a great program when everything revolved around Epcot...

Not news as such but more of an observation... It seems that park trading and even DTD was slowing way down with the "Big" pin meets at All Star and Contempary getting more focus. When I ran in to some of the hard core traders it seemed that everyone was waiting for those. I liked the idea as it was more fun to walk the parks with only my lanyard this time and just trade that way... Anyone else notice this change?

I have a few other things to double check on and I will let you know as soon as I can confirm them...

Nat: That's so disappointing about the Main St. Gallery! :( We *loved* this shop. Was any explanation given as to why or what (if anything) is going there in its place?

Hey, Nat, sounds like you had a great trip! Sorry to hear about the Main Street Gallery. I wonder if they will close the Gallery in EPCOT too? I always try to stop in at least one of those stores every trip.

My last two trips (October & January), I didn't bring any of my trader bags. All I did was lanyard trading. I did stop in at a meet Michael had at Port orleans - just to say hi. It was nice not dragging the bags around. I almost ran out of traders in January, though. My niece and a friend of hers started to really get into trading witn CM's. What a deal they had, I supplied the pins and they kept what they traded for.

Welcome back!

Cyn

I really prefer just simple CM lanyard trades. I have traded very little in the parks (w/guests) and at meets. I may have a lot of pins, but I am a small fish and have found I like it best that way. I use the KISS method. (Keep It Simple Stupid ;) )
The part I have enjoyed the most at the meets is just meeting some folks from around the country.
Generally it seems those with the good pins want a kidney, and anything that is not *common*. (Meaning they want rare or LE1000 or less.) But that's just my take, whether others agree or not.
And that is a major generalization, because I have been fortunate to meet those who aren't like that. But they seem to be the minority. (IMHO)

How can they close they gallery??!! That is always the first place we go when we enter the MK.

Nat, do you have any idea what is going to happen to the artists there? My DD Meg always visits with Eddie and shows him her Mickey artwork which he helps her with.

What a shame!

Nat, thanks for sharing your observations. We're going to miss the Gallery at the MK :(.

I prefer to keep my trading to mostly CMs. It took me awhile to venture out to other guests for trading. I think I started trading with guests around the time of the EPCOT pin event in 2001. I understand what Barb is saying about giving a body part to get a pin from some traders - that is how I used to feel at WOD (before they moved to the open air store).
