A few Disneyland questions?

Husband and I live in Orlando, are Disney World pass holders, own DVC, etc. We go out to Disneyland about once every 5-7 years, and we are visiting for a day this coming Jan 17th. Couple of questions.

I bought a single day hopper dated for Jan 17th (from Disneyland.com), do I need to make a specific reservation or does my dated hopper ticket count?

Once you leave Disneyland, and hop to DCA, I have read you sometimes can't get back into Disneyland if they are at capacity, is that accurate? Should I be concerned about that on MLK day?

Like a moron I missed the 60 day dining window, and there isn't a whole lot still available. I have lots of experience stalking WDW reservations, and I am guessing it works about as well. I read somewhere though that there is a separate dining reservation bucket for those staying on site? Is there any truth to that?

Any chance Haunted Mansion will be back open after they remove the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay?

Last thing, we are planning on using Super Shuttle, which we have used before in the past, but wanted to see if there were any other good options, we are two adults, so not a large group, I would prefer fewer stops, but I am ok with a couple. Any recommendations?

Thanks in advance!

Haunted mansion will likely still be closed since the holidays run through 1/9 this year. If you bought your ticket on the Disneyland website you should already have your park pass reservation as you make it at the time of purchase.

Yes, even though you bought a date-specific ticket, you still need to make a reservation. Definitely can be confusing!

You can let this worry go! DLR only hits capacity (generally) during the week between Christmas and New Years. It doesn't always reach capacity, and it's never a complete "no one else will come in today." The Fire Marshall makes the "capacity call" generally based on the feel of Main Street, and how easy/quick it would be to evacuate in the case of an emergency. They (DLR) will let people come in as others are leaving when the FM allows. The reservation system should make this less likely overall, though certain things could make a temporary "no entry" call that could last a few minutes.

While this used to have a little "pull", most of the time staying on-site doesn't mean what it used to. However, most sit-down restaurants now have a walk-up list, and you can get yourself put on it, and it's been pretty successful from what I've been hearing.

Completely, absolutely unlikely. It's running though 1/9/22. It takes about 10 days to get it all switched over at the end of the season, which means earliest expected re-opening would be 1/19/22. Sorry!

Where are you flying into? Are you good with a rideshare?

This is awesome thank you!

I kind of figured that about Haunted Mansion, but it's my favorite ride (Disneyland used to be my favorite version until they refurbished Disney World's several years ago)...

I would keep checking for reservations. I missed a couple at my 60 day mark but I've been able to get them by checking a couple times a day.

I haven't used them yet, but Sunny's transportation gets very good reviews.

You do need to make sure to get reservations for your park day. It's easy to do on the website.

Have fun!

There is no extra benefit to staying on site for dining reservations except perhaps at club/concierge level. But just keep checking for openings, especially last minute. We are here this weekend and scored Saturday Lamplight Lounge Brunch and Blue Bayou dinner reservations by checking the app on Friday evening. There were lots of last minute cancellations and availability at other places too.

Make sure you check each individual time slot in the app. Don’t use the “Breakfast” “lunch” or “dinner” buttons. And literally check each 30min time slot. I have seen multiple times where reservations don’t show up on all time slots they should (ie- a 2:40 doesn’t show up at 2pm but shows up at 1:30pm and 2:30pm).

I checked using your advice and more options popped up, not what Im looking for (Carnation), but it's fascinating, I will keep checking!

Disneyland.com shows I have a reservation for Jan 17th attached to the ticket I bought, and it won't let me make any other reservations, so I am assuming I have the reservation for that day. I am screening shooting my reservation just to make sure.

Thank you!

Jennifer
