A few DDP questions?

We will be having our dining plan for 5 days. We won't get there till everning of the first day and leave early the last day. Thats just how the flights work out. So my question is can you eat your meals on any day? Like could I have 3 counter service meals one day if I wanted, or saved all my snacks for a day? They way I understand it is that I would have 5 days of meals, but can use them when I want and in any oerder. Right? Like I could use them all up before the last day if I wanted, since we really won't be there long that day.

Is there a list that shows the exact resturants that are included too? I've probably looked right at it somwhere and just can't remember now.

Do they give you a list?

Yes, you can distribute your usage any way you choose - it's actually possible to use SIX table service credits per person in one day, for example breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table, lunch at the Brown Derby, Hoop-De-Doo for dinner.

Yes, you will get a list of participating restaurants when you check in.

But why wait? bicker maintains an extremely up-to-date FAQ about the Disney Dining Plan - it's the first thread 'stuck' at the top of each page of this forum.

And keep in mind your allotted meals/snacks are based per night, not each day of your stay.

I was told by the travel agent it included the day I left as well. She said it went by the days of tickets you bought.

This is not correct. It's based on the resort nights - not tickets - so if you stay 5 nights, each person in your room gets 5 table service, 5 quick service and 5 snacks each. You can use them from the time you check-in until midnight on the day you check-out (you could go spend the day in the parks after checking out). A person staying 5 nights could buy 6 day tickets for everyone, but you still get 5 of each for each guest.

IMO, I would call your travel agent back so she is giving out correct information to customers. The Disney World dining plan brochure clearly states how credits are allocated.

Hope you have a good trip! :wizard:

Thanks for clearing that up. I think I will not book with her. She also told me that my 2 year old could order anything she wanted and it was included as well. But I found out that is not true. WE have no need for the 5th day ticket then, as we leave in the morning. I thought that was too good to be true!

A few more questions. It says the plan includes an appetizer for your TS meal. Does that include off of the soup or salad list too? Or just off the appetizer list? Also for a beverage, i know there is no alcohol, but what about things like smoothies? Or is it just soft drinks and coffee and stuff like that. I knwo some days I would like a soup rather than some of the appetizer listings. But not sure if it would be included as well.:confused3

Yes, soup or salad are some of the appetizers you can choose from. DH and I usually get something like this. Usually the only appetizers you can't get are ones that serve 2+ people, although I have read where 2 people have been able to select that and the server just counts it as 1 appetizer each.

I'm not sure on the smoothies. The brochure says "non-alcoholic beverage." You could just ask your server. I do know that when we went to Boma, we were able to get a smoothie with our breakfast buffet plus I think we had an additional drink - probably a Diet Coke in my case. If you really wanted a smoothie and they won't count it towards the DDP, you could pay separately for that.

When you tell your server you're on the DDP, he/she should tell you what you can get. I've found that for the most part, they're very willing to help you get the most out of the plan.

Have you had a chance to look at the menus at allearsnet.com? They are great in helping me make our ADRs (like I give DH any input - HA!).

We love the DDP - hope you have a wonderful vacation! :wizard:

There is some inconsistency on the specialty drinks. Sometime you get them. Other times you won't - though you can get one as your dessert.

Your DDP is good through the day of your check out day. Maybe that is what confused your TA. But it is based on nights.
There are numerous posts regardingthe smoothies for drinks or desserts. It seems you just have to ask your server at the restaurant when you order as to what they allow at their location.

The logic behind basing DDP on nights is because official check in is not until mid afternoon at best, and check out is 11:00 a.m.

Specialty drink example (ymmv): At Kona, my very nice server explained I - so I'd think each DDP participant - could get a single specialty drink OR unlimited-refill soda.
