I've been watching the posts for the Contemporary and wondered if anyone could tell me:

1- Is all of the North wing taken over by SOG?
2- Do you think I should upgrade our ressies to Tower instead
of wing? (Arthritic Uncle with bad knees. I picked CR
specifically for location and requested North Garden Wing
which is closer to monorail and footpath in case he felt
energetic.)
3 - What is with falling plaster at North Wing? How worried
should I be?
4 - Nasty CM? My uncle is also mentally ******** and I don't
want his vacation ruined.

Please. Can someone put my mind at ease?

1 - most, but not all
2 - I really like the tower, it's very close to about everything
3 - read about this, but our room (tower 12th floor) was fine
4 - experienced very good CM's (Dec-Jan 01/02)

1 & 2. I'm not sure. But, the South Wing, if it is a longer walk (which I'm not so sure of, having stayed at both), it can only be a few steps more to the Tower. It depends on which room you get. With bad knees, I'm not so sure the footpath would be a good idea. It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk (I have bad knees myself). I've walked it, and much prefer the monorail, even if it does take a little longer.
3. Not sure about that. I saw the post on it, but we've always had great stays at the CR wings.
4. We've always experienced fantastic CM's at the Contemporary - really, anywhere on Disney property. I guess we've been lucky so far. I personally think if this was any other kind of resort (non-Disney), we would here about so many more complaints, if they were even popular enough to have a set of boards! I'm not saying that the bad experiences didn't happen, I'm sure that they did. But the good experiences far out weigh the bad. I put some of it down to people having a bad day (meaning CM's - they are people too). Just my opinion.

NGW is not closer to the monorail, it is closer to the bus stop. The Monorail is in the Tower. Since not all of NGW is reserved for SoG you might be able to get in there. The side eixit closest to the Tower is very near the bus stop. I found the hike to the monorail to be not much shorter than the path to MK.
