A few AKL concierge questions....

1. Are all of the rooms deluxe rooms?

2. What are our chances of getting a savannah view? (we had the pool view last time)

3. What are the chances that our room would be ready at 10am?

Any other tips would be appreciated....

I have never NOT had my room immediately upon checking into AKL. We usually check in at about 11am. The only pool view rooms are smoking optional for concierge, so if you request non-smoking you won't get a pool view. In our case, we needed smoking optional and I had my heart set on savannah view, at the end of Zebra Trail (Have had that view twice before). They did just that! All concierge rooms are on the fifth and sixth floor and are all deluxe. If you end up in a non concierge room but are staying concierge, make sure you have your fridge and robes if you require them.

Hi! I stayed at AKL Concierge last Columbus Day weekend. It was awesome! The place was very packed, and we did not get our room until about 4pm but odds are you'll get in when you arrive. (Also, at Easter week, we did not get in until 3pm.) The planner you speak w/ will ask you what time you expect to arrive and hopefully they'll be able to accomodate.

1. Are all of the rooms deluxe rooms? To my knowledge, Yes. Deluxe rooms and suites. I reserved a room for 3 adults and one child. Our room had 2 Q and NO daybed, FYI. There are deluxe rooms w/ no daybed. The rooms are all on the 5th and 6th floors (except for some suites).

2. What are our chances of getting a savannah view? (we had the pool view last time) Make savanna your #1 request. Are you saying last time you were staying concierge and got a pool view deluxe room? Did you request smoking? I have repeatedly heard that the rooms on the 6th floor are pool view and mostly smoking-optional rooms.

Good luck! Are you doing/have you done the Sunrise Safari? It is amazing and a must-do, IMO!

They try really hard to accomodate your requests. I have stayed club level 3 times now at AKL, Always requested Savannah View and have gotten it.

As far as the room being ready early. The last time it was ready about noon. Maybe? Time before that it was a special circumstance and they moved me in early as I had a very ill child. I was in the room by 9 or so.

I honestly don't think you will be disapointed with this property Good Luck!

Ps. I think of my sister everytime I look at your sig. ( she used to live on walnut St in Hollywood. Right across from Marthas!

When we stayed at the AKL concierge level in March, Our room wasn't ready until about 4. But the resort was at 100% and had been for several days.

The room was exactly as we had requested. Everything was wonderful.

We did the sunset safari and recommend it highly.
