A duck pushed me, a goofy dude put his foot out, a mouse took my money - Trip Report.

After relaxing for a bit, we headed to MK via the monorail with DD in her Cinderella outfit. We made it up to the Castle in decent time and checked in.

After a bit we were called inside and waited in line for DD to have her picture taken with Cinderella. The interaction was good and the pictures came out very good. But, when we sat down and waited to be called for dinner, DD asked “mommy, I have met Cinderella 3 times now in the past few days, why doesn’t she remember my name?” Well...........we said it was because she meets lots of little kids and doesn’t always remember all their names.

After about a 20 minute wait, we were called to dinner. We had a table across from the elevator far from any windows, so we couldn’t see much, but the dining area itself was nice and it was fun being in the Castle. Although, it seemed as though our waitress knew the tip was included and really had no desire to be waiting tables. :headache: She came and took our drink and dinner order, brought our food when it was ready and we didn’t see her any other time. I eventually had to have someone find her so I could sign our check. The food was ok, but not great. The princess interaction was pretty good though. Part way through dinner, DD had to go to the bathroom, so I took her down part of the stairway to take her to the mens room. It was closed off because some young boy had gotten sick in there, so I took her all the way down the stairs. We took the elevator back up and she thought it was funny to have the doors open and mommy right there.

We were eating when the fireworks went off, but since we were so far away and off at an angle, we only saw a few flashes, that was it. After dinner, we made our way down the stairs and out and took a few pictures on our way out of MK, but could see that DD was pretty tired. She just rode along in the stroller, but I thought she’d be asleep soon.

Well, when we got to the ramp for the monorail it was beyond packed. After a while and a few trains, we very slowly made it up about ½ way and saw a train coming and thought we might be able to catch the one after it. But, this train was empty and just slowed down and didn’t even stop. The next train finally came, it stopped let people off, opened it doors briefly, but nobody was allowed on and then it pulled away empty. By now, it was getting pretty cold again, DD was asleep, and people were getting pretty upset and yelling at the CM working there to try and find out what was going on.:headache:

Eventually, another train came and people crammed in. But, the doors stayed open and then someone said that a woman had fallen. She was on the platform, but not near where there would have been a crush of people, so I don't think she was pushed or anything. Someone said she fainted, someone else said she just fell, and of course someone else said she had too much to drink (where I don't know). But, the monorail was sitting there still with doors open and we see the EMT’s trying to make their way up the ramp with a stretcher.

People were yelling for people to make room for them, yelling at the CMs to get the train moving, and getting colder and colder and it was not a good scene. :sad1: The monorail CMs then came over and yelled out that the train that was still sitting there was not going to go anywhere for a while until they could get the woman checked out and moved and investigate what happened. They said that there were extra buses coming to help with the amount of people and everyone needed to head that way.:sad2: While I hope the woman was ok, it was odd since the people that we near where it happened said she just seemd to go down.

So, with that lovely piece of news, and it getting much colder, and it being after 10:30 pm by now, we decided that instead of fighting the hoard for the buses, we’d try a boat. One came and got loaded and left, but another one was close behind. We got on and I got DD situated on my lap and covered up with a good amount of my coat and with the blanket we had and we rode over to the GF. It was a frosty ride. We finally made it back and got to our room about 11:25. Overall, not a good evening.:mad::furious:
