A Dream? Maybe

It may be a dream and it may not be, but we are totally happy. I paid off my 9/1 to 9/8 All Star Music package this afternoon, and a few hours later, got an email from Tinkerbell. The return address was Disney Destinations.
"Surprise, **** Family! " was the salutation.
They offered us an upgrade to either Sarasota Springs or Old Key West. We had to reply by the day our final payment would have been due if I hadn't already paid it.
So I called the number listed and gave them the code number at the bottom of the email. We are now going to stay at a one bedroom villa in Old Key West, and we still get Free Dining!
I asked if it was one of the Million Dreams, and the CM said, "It just might be.You think?"
So whether it was or it wasn't, it's still a dream come true for the 3 of us.

I would love to stay at one of those resorts, but this trip is different as I am taking my 3 young kids by myself (dh has to work) and of course they have their heart set on Pop Century. I don't think they would appreciate the beauty of the other resorts LOL What to do, what to do?????

Grab it. No DVC presentation required, according to the CM's. They have excess inventory that Disney usually rents out and the Values are booked up. Upgrading fills the DVC rooms and they get to resell the Value rooms. There are some other threads on this on the Dis boards.
The amenities at OKW and SSR are even better than POP. Think water slides and playgrounds! And with a one bedroom villa, you get a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. There are multiple bus stops at both resorts, so transportation is not a problem. You will also have a living room. This means lots and lots of space.
Go for it!

You should upgrade!!! The pool area's at the DVC resorts are great...we liked the POP but didn't love it... and to have a kitchen and washer/dryer and seperate sleeping areas...it would help make you trip more relaxing!

Congratulations! I got that email too and upgraded from ASMu to a 1 BR villa at Old Key West. I feel like I won the lottery and have been obsessing on it all weekend.

Oh my goodness! I hope I get an e-mail like that after or before paying off our 09/17-09/23 POP Century trip. I would so jump on it and SO APPRECIATE it... and be SO THANKFUL FOR IT!! I'll even tour DVC!! I say everyone should go for it!!

still keeping my fingers crossed for some Pixie Dust for our trip!!! We have 3 rooms booked at ASMu for a Grand Gathering Aug 26th - Sept. 2nd and this would be soooo fabulous as we are going with the Grandparents this year to celebrate their recent, so far successful, bouts with cancer!!!

It'll be good enough just to be able to go with them but to be able to show these first timers a luxurious side of Disney would be a dream come true!!!

You will love OKW! The one BR is awesome. We have been so spoiled there! Laid back feel at OKW. We have owned there since 2000 and never stayed anywhere but there.
