A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes: Nov 2010 / Feb 2011 PTRs! UPDATE 10/30

Well, there is a yearly charge....but I guess I justified that by knowing how much I would get back in rewards, since I use my debit card daily, it will be OK. And, for the first 5 pruchases, you get $25 in rewards as a bonus, so the first year is basically negated.

We'll see how it goes - I'll track things and see how I do by the end of the year. I just really didn't want another credit card so I went this route. :)

$25 isn't bad at all - that just means you have to spend $5,000 in a year on your debit card to break even - you get 1/2 Disney Dollar for every $1 you spend, right? That's really not hard at all to do!

The buckets are going to be so cute! I'm trying to think of some "beach" items that would be small enough to put in there...all I can think of is a beach towel. Hmmm....A shovel to go with the bucket...maybe some travel sized sun screen? Sunglasses? Swim goggles?

Can't wait to see the buckets!! I know Kali is excited about doing them :goodvibes

I just opened a 2nd checking acct for me to use on my weekly purchases from Chase. Do you think it is hard to convert it to the Disney Debit, or do you have to open a whole new acct? My hubby did it without remembering about the Disney Debit.

However, do you still get the extra points and gift cards that Chase offers through Rewards Points?

Thank her again for me. I am so happy she was able to do them. :wizard:

I would think you could switch it to Disney; if anything, they would probably de-active the card you have and then reissue you a new card, maybe even a new account number for security. But I would think you could do that, no problem. It's worth a call, at least to check it out!

You know, I don't know if you get the "extra" points. I just got the card in the mail tonight when I came home :woohoo: so I will have to read the brochure and see if are eligible for those too.

You're right; I don't think that would be hard, at all. And since I literally debit card everything, it should be easy. If I have even $2 cash in my wallet most days, it's an odd occasion. :rotfl:

Ooh, sunglasses and swim goggles is a GREAT idea!! Good thinking!! I'll totally add those to the list. I looked at Target this weekend, since a lot of that swim stuff is on sale, but I missed the goggles so I'll have to grab those.

My kids have always liked having fresh crayons and coloring books whenever we go to Disney.

GREAT idea!! :thumbsup2 I'll have to get some of those for sure. I read on another gal's TR that she went to the Dollar Store and got lots of coloring books, crayons, little toys, all for $1. So I might have to head over there this weekend and see what I can find.

So I found some really COOL stuff and wanted to share with my Dis buddies!! :cool1:

Belle is coming over on Friday for a sleepover and staying until Saturday evening. I'll pick her up Friday when I get off work, and then I plan on taking us out to Red Lobster (since we both LOVE seafood). :cheer2: We'll then go back to my house and watch movies (Disney, of course!), play games, or whatever.

Then on Saturday, I have some craft projects planned for us, including a countdown chain for our trip that she can take home and count down the days. :lovestruc Right this moment, we're 72 days away, baby!! :worship:

So I went to Target tonight and got some movie watching snacks, some breakfast food and also found some chicken nuggets shaped like Mickey heads that we'll have for lunch on Saturday. :yay: And I also found....

Aren't these super cute?! And they were in the $1 bin at Target! I'm not quite sure what I'll do with them yet, but I just couldn't leave them behind!

And for our fun time, I found some fun puzzles, with all different numbers of pieces depending on how adventurous we get.

And then....I was meandering around the game section at Target, and what did I see?!?!?!

Apples to Apples, the Disney edition!!!   I LOVE the original game and I was VERY excited to see this, so of course it came home with me. :rotfl: Belle and I can play this on Saturday, if we feel like it - also, since it's a pretty portable game, I'll take it with me in November and we can play on the plane or in the room at night.

Well, friends, that's about it! I'll have an update Sunday / early Monday with a crafting update and a report on how that all went. :thumbsup2

Have a great night!

This weekend I am dog-sitting at my parents house and thus I have lots of fun time to DIS!

We are 2 months and 2+ weeks away from leaving! :wizard: I could NOT be more excited. It is getting closer and closer, and before we know it, November will be here!

So my list, as I see it now, is:

* Start walking 4-5 times per week to get in "Disney" shape; I like walking anyway but I find that even if I walk 30 minutes each day, I am that much better stamina-wise at Disney.

* Assemble and get contents of the beach buckets for the kids. Katie B's (BippityBoo) very sweet and creative friend Kali is making some buckets for the kids, decorated and with their names on them, to play with at the Beach Club. I am currently collecting items to place in the baskets so I would LOVE some ideas. I am also mailing them to BCV before we get there, since I have visions of the kids trying to cram those into their carry-ons and that vision doesn't end well. :rotfl:

* Of course, the packing and all that entails; but I won't do that until the week we leave.

So, I guess my question is: What should I put in the kid's beach buckets? I was thinking of some candy and gum, some pool toys (that should be on sale now because of the time of year) and maybe I'll get some help at the Creative DISigns Board and make a shirt for each of the kids. But what else would you add? What am I missing?

Thanks, all! Happy Saturday!

Katie

Do you have a Dollar Tree near you? They have a bunch of Disney water and sand toys. Goggles, beach balls, sand shapers. I know I have seen Ariel, Cars and Toy Story at ours. Let me know if you want me to check it out for you down here.

Oh wow! You two are going to have SUCH a great time! Your are so sweet to plan a whole fun overnight!!!! Love the Apples to Apples Disney edition!

That looks so fun!! When I was planning our Disney day I picked up both the Apples to Apples and the puzzle box. I can't wait until the crew here is a year or two older! Looking forward to hearing all about your weekend of fun. :)

Thanks, Jill! That's very sweet of you. We do have a few dollar stores around here (not sure of the names of them) and I plan on investigating today. But thank you so much for the offer, and if I need your assistance to check on things I'll let you know. You're such a sweetie for offering! :lovestruc

Thanks, gals! The overnight WAS lots of fun. Update to come soon. :thumbsup2

Happy Sunday, everyone! I have NO plans today  which I am super excited about. I plan to lounge around in my PJs as long as possible, then head off to the dollar store to fine some fun items for the kids sand pails (Jill for the great idea!)

I also wanted to let you know about our girl's overnight. It was so much fun, we had a great time! Belle is my little buddy and so we always seem to have fun together. Sometimes I forget she is only 10 because she is very mature for her age. :cutie:

We started the night by going to Olive Garden for dinner, Belle's choice. The food was very good, but I felt kind of rushed; we ordered an appetizer and before we were even finished with that, our meals came. But that was OK, it gave us more time to have fun on Friday night!

We then went to Barnes and Noble and perused the Disney books (no new ones that I saw) and then headed to my house. We spent the rest of the night, and all of Saturday, playing Disney Guess Who?, watching movies and playing puzzles. We then went out to eat for dinner on Saturday and then I took Belle home at 7PM. Whew! What a fun day! :thumbsup2

Now we are officially 68 days from our trip!! WOO HOO!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Have a great Sunday, all!

That sounds like a GREAT time!! Were you able to pick up some great things for the buckets?

I'm suddenly craving breadsticks...;)

Bucket items!!

Sorry that I have been MIA, friends. But a very important post....the sand pails came!! And they are SO CUTE!!! :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

Per Jill's amazingly smart suggestion, I went to the Dollar Store and picked up some cute things to fill the baskets. I wanted things they could play with at Beach Club, plus some fun cute other items. I found some great things!! The only things to finish it are some shirts that I am going to make for our MVMCP - they are some super cute iron ons on ebay! :cool1:

So....without further ado, here they are, with items - fun, huh?!

Aren't those cute?! I am so excited! I am going to mail them to the hotel the week we leave, so I won't have to cram them into my carryon bag. :rotfl:

Also, I decided to get my aunt her own Gift Bag item. I decided that I would get her a 60 minute massage gift card! :wizard: I saw that the Beach Club spa has a few spa services, including the massage, so I thought that would be fun for her.

Well, have a great Saturday night, guys!

Katie

If you ever want to come on vacation with me you are more than welcome. ::yes:: ;)

Those buckets are SO cute!!!! The kids are going to love them...and your aunt is gonna loooooooove that massage. :thumbsup2

Hi all!

We are currently 46 days out from D-Day! (Also known as Disney Day! :cool1:) WOO HOO!! :woohoo:

This weekend was a lot of fun. My brother, sister in law and niece were in town from Chicago and we had a great time visiting with them. We took our Christmas Card picture since all of the kids were home...I won't post that yet, until we get closer to Christmas.

BUT....I did want to share with all of you my niece, Caroline. Isn't she the cutest?!?!?! She loves dressing up, so we put her in all sorts of things we found around the house. :lovestruc

IMG_8960_4.jpg

After she got all dolled up, she went to find her Dad so he could tell her how pretty she was. :lovestruc Dontcha just love her?!

Things are going pretty good plan-wise for the trip. I haven't started to pack yet  but I will start throwing things in my spare bedroom in a few weeks. That's my normal operation - I just chuck random items into my spare room until I get really overwhelmed and then narrow it down from there. :rotfl:

Have a great night, everyone!
