Sorry for the long wait - but "back to work" got the better of me!
So, here we go again!
Aug 16 continued .......... dinner at Le Cellier!
After spending some time at the resort we headed out to Epcot for our dinner at Le Cellier.
It is one of our favourites, so we were really looking forward to it. We signed in about 10 minutes early and were seated about 15 minutes later. We got one of the slightly larger tables which made us feel very special. When our server came over we just could not believe our luck. It was Patrick!! He is one of the most fun servers and we had been seated in his part of the restaurant before.
We told him that we were on the
DDP and were using the DDE for extras and it was okay with him. Tom ordered the Mango Smoothie with a splash of cranberry, while I stuck to my all time favourite, Diet Coke.
Patrick returned with our drinks after a very short time!
As we had told him that we had been to the restaurant before he asked which was our favourite bread. The Pretzel bread of course!!!!!!!!! So next comes the bread and he even included 2 Pretzel sticks so we would not have to fight over it!
Then he was ready to take our order. Tom ordered the Spicy Chicken and Chipotle Sausage - with roasted corn polenta and sweet onion jam, which I had had before and he loved it very much. Boy, that sausage IS spicey!!
Since I had ordered the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup - smoked bacon and Moosehead beer Patrick suggest to try the sausage with the soup and he was so right. It was an explosion of taste in your mouth and it took away some of the spicey taste of the sausage! But the soup on its own was to die for as well!
Our main courses were - the New York Strip Steak - with bercy butter, balsamic red onions, watercress, and roasted Yukon potatoes for Tom, which he enjoyed very much
and I went for my all time favourite and their signature dish, the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - with wild mushroom risotto, white truffle and herb butter sauce - yummy, yummy, yummy is all I can add! That meat is melt in your mouth and the risotto tasted so nice!
Even though we both were rather full at that time there was no chance we would pass on the desserts.
Tom opted for something light, the Seasonal Sorbet, which was tangerine if I remember correctly.
He nearly finished it all - he loved it and so did I after I got a taste.
But I had already set my heart on the Maple Creme Brulee and that is what I got!
This one shares the top spot in my creme bruleè votings with the one from Wolfgang Puck! It is just so creamy and silky and just the right amount of crunchy caramelized sugar on the top! I loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Illuminations had already started during our meal, but you could hear some of the music and hear the fireworks while still at the table. Even though the park was officially closed by then we did not feel rushed to finish our meal at all. Very good service.
We usually carry pins from DLRP to hand out to special CMs and Patrick definitely had earned one of them together with a VERY generous tip.
On the way out Tom pointed out the hidden Mickey in the "wine cellar" to me! It sure is swell!
We headed out of the park and went back to POR and were greated by one of "our resident frogs"! There were three of them and we really loved coming back to our corner room and seeing them!
To be continued ..........
