A Dream Come True?!?!?!?

OK - This is strictly a dream thread - a true "What If...." scenario.

This is just for fun!

Here is the question:

If you could live at Walt Disney World in a DVC resort for an entire year - 12 consecutive months in the same room - Checking in on January 1st, 2011 and out on January 1st, 2012 - WHERE would you live - and WHY?

DVC? If I had to live in WDW for a year, the only viable option for me and my family would be Golden Oak: http://disneygoldenoak.disney.go.com/. Dealing with tourists everyday would make me crazy!

THV, only place with a bit of privacy. No one next door to hear coming/going/XXX/etc.

One of the Lake View Grand Villas at BLT. But I agree with the PP. I would not want to deal with tourists all the time. In that case, I might want something more remote, like the AKV Kidani Villa.

I just realized I would not want to live on property for one full year.

OKW Grand Villa Plenty of room and I LOVE the "Old Key West" theme. Joan

DW and I were thinking Old Key West, Saratoga, or Bay Lake Tower.

And another choice would be Animal Kingdom Kidani - but DW wasn't so crazy about that idea. However - I think it could be pretty cool.

The reason for selecting those was easy access to parking. Of course if you are there for an entire year would HAVE to have a personal vehicle - and the three resorts above give you the best access to parking. The only reason we didn't really think too much about AKV is it's distance from the parks and from civilization in general.

I would have never said Old Key West a few weeks ago - but now that we have stayed there it is pretty awesome!

Saratoga would have great access to Downtown Disney for evening walks and walking to the movies etc.

Bay Lake because I think a year in a Grand Villa at BLT would be totally awesome! It is such a beautiful Grand Villa!

We would definitely choose a Grand Villa regardless of where we chose. We kept imagining all the different visitors that we would have! It would be a great year! HAHA

I like being around a lot of people - it really provides a lot of energy and action! So being around tourists would be cool - imagine all the different people you could meet! It would be really awesome I think!

We might consider a tree house villa as well - while it's not at large at a Grand Villa - it would provide the privacy and seclusion that would be needed for a full 12 months!

BUT - can you imagine???

Maybe we would finally get to do La Nouba! LOL

I think a Cottage at Vero would be nice... Living on the water for a year and then only having an hour and a half drive (or whatever it is) to WDW for a couple of days here and there!

My DH and I have compiled the following for our list:

• #1: Grand Villa at Jambo House for the pool table and views!
• #2: Grand Villa at Boardwalk Villas for the "location, location, location!"
• #3: Treehouse Villa on the river for the private grill and seclusion.

Edited to add: The above list would be more "if we had to live at WDW in a DVC resort" -- not if we "could." I seriously doubt I could handle a full year at WDW unless the opportunity included all kinds of "just like home" tailoring.

Not sure what order I'd prefer these in, but:

THV for seclusion
AKV Kidani Grand Villa, as far away as possible, but near an elevator
OKW Grand Villa in a building farther away from the action

As long as we're dreaming, I might as well go for Grand villas. We'd have to have enough space for the kids to visit. And we'd have to be able to bring the dog and cat, as long as we're dreaming.

I have to agree about Golden Oak - we passed by the gates in December but there wasn't a sign on the gates at that time - but when we passed by the gates over labor day weekend - we both sighed at the same time LOL


Yet another "What if....." scenario HAHAHA

It would be a tough choice between a Grand Villa at OKW and a Grand Villa at AKV, Jambo. I think I would love to have that choice to make.
