A Dream Come True - 2/6/11 4-day Bahama Cruise

I like the ones of the crew docking the ship, I never thought to go over that way to try and see that. We usually are eating breakfast, so we just go to the side/ back of the ship to see the island.

If you want to watch something incredible, when the ship docks at Castaway Cay, go to the dock side of the ship and look down and watch them unload the supplies for the day! Simply amazing to watch the organized chaos! popcorn::

On our December cruise, our room gave us a great view of the crew loading supplies at Port Canaveral. It was neat to watch the huge pallets of water, food items, etc, being loaded. Plus they even loaded a huge flat screen tv.

Thank you.

Beth, you have some awesome pictures! I like the ones of the crew docking the ship, I never thought to go over that way to try and see that. We usually are eating breakfast, so we just go to the side/ back of the ship to see the island.

Thanks! I love taking pictures of stuff that most people wouldn't care about. I also just noticed that I never uploaded my pictures from Feb., 2010! I'll get them uploaded and then post a link.

Beth

OK, the pictures from Feb., 2010 are here.

They're not labeled, but the general description of the trip is that we spent the night before the cruise at the Hyatt at MCO (loved it, doing it again next week!), then seven night Western cruise (weather was not very good), Cat. 11 room, then a week at Pop Century for the Epcot Flower and Garden Show, among other things. That's the only park we visited, and only one day for that. The pictures of animals are from the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani Village when we went to Sanaa for lunch. You can see from my WDW pictures that the weather wasn't very good there, either. In fact, that's a general theme for my vacations, and I apologize in advance for the weather on our cruise. Unless, of course, the weather is great, in which case I will take full credit for it ;) !

I probably should also mention that I bought an underwater digital camera while on board the ship, which will explain some of the rather odd pictures taken from under water!

Beth

Nice pictures. I can't believe how blue the water was at Nassau. I usually carry the camera, and go " wow, thats a great shot" and then never actually take it. We finally bought an underwater camera too, so theres a bunch of random shots of feet, sand, misc things... lol. :boat:

As for a meet on boarding day--Jim and I are easy to find. If you've looked at any of our pictures in the link below, we haven't changed a whole lot! I almost always have a Mickey head somewhere visible, and I always have my digital camera with me. It's lime green (just a coincidence, but it's a souvenir of my Dec. 2010 cruise), and it has a lime green strap (a souvenir from my Dec. 2007 cruise on Magic). Don't hesitate to stop and say hello. Jim is used to strangers coming up to him, greeting him by name, and saying that they've been "chatting" with his wife for ages. At first he thought it was very strange, but he's gotten over that!

Great! Thanks! Now I know who to look for. Mwhahaha.

Kidding.

Did something to my knee again. My doctor's office is insistent that I go in tomorrow. I emailed my surgeon in hopes that he would scoff and tell me to rub some dirt in it.... instead, 5 minutes later, I got a phone call where he was telling me I should go in tomorrow. I think I just overdid it and my leg isn't strong enough.

I think this calls for a kickback cruise next week... OH WAIT! I'M GOING ON ONE! :D :D :D

Just 6 days!

We're fine with a quick meet up -
Just tell us where and when.
Also
We should be easy to spot -
Please come up any time and say "Hi" / talk for a while.
:flower3:
We don't bite ... well not hard anyway.

Here are some photos of us on the Wonder last January.

If you see us please say "hi!" My hair is a little longer now, and hopefully a little more blonde after a visit to the salon this Saturday. ;)

Note to self: be sure you are up to date on shots

We're on the right. Can you tell who married in to the family? Hahah. (My parents came with us on our cruise this summer)

Also, feel free to come up and say hi. Sometimes, my husband seems to be in his own headspace (too many loud concerts, not enough ear plugs) so you may have to speak up or again to get his attention, especially if he doesn't expect to know you!

Jim is the same way. He says he's not losing his hearing, it's just that the rest of the world is suddenly becoming very quiet.;) So now, if he sees someone looking at him, he usually says something brilliant like "hello" or "Are you talking to me?" He says those two are great conversation starters, especially with people who WEREN'T talking to him!

I can't wait to be out of snowy New Jersey. It's very pretty this morning. All the yucky gray ice is now covered in puffy white snow (again), but it's still cold and damp out there, and snowing like crazy. Right about now, I wish we had followed through with our first plan of going on the Maiden Voyage--we'd be in Florida today instead of here!

Beth

Ooooh, I just noticed that my countdown is in single digits FINALLY!!!! I started at 351 days!

Here's our motley group.
Look for us!

Wow. I don't see how you can wait that long... DH would've lost his mind if we waited that long! :scared1:

Now off to print magnets...

It wasn't as bad as it could have been. We were on board Magic, so it took us a while to recover from that cruise. By the time we were really depressed about that one being over it was summer at the Jersey Shore, and then time to start planning for the holidays. Through moving to a new home in there, and suddenly it's time to start packing!
