Hello, my name is Emma and I've mostly lurked and occasionally posted here over the past few years. I especially like reading trip reports on the lead up to my own holiday, so I thought I'd give it a try myself this time! I'm yet to fathom photo adding so this will sadly just be text for the time being.
This will be my 9th trip to the World and 6 days before departure I'm starting to feel really excited about everything, even the fact we're staying at an airport hotel the night before for the first time.
Who's going...
Myself- 33yrs almost life long Disney World visitor, fan of Rapunzel, rides, fireworks, Dole whips and Mummy to...
Ryan (DS) 4yrs 2nd visit to DW. Lover of Disney films but is quite fickle so rarely has a favorite for more than a week or two.
Reed (DS) 2yrs 1st visit to DW. Has a bit of a soft spot for Tinkerbell
Mark (DH) 32yrs 5th visit to DW. Pretends he's only going for me but secretly enjoys it too, especially Mickey Mouse ice cream cookie sandwiches.
Edwin- My Dad and catalyst for this trip as he is very kindly treating us all to the villa. This is his first trip since 2000 so lots have changed. I think he's especially looking forward to seeing R & R at DW.
Karen- Dad's wife, this will be Karens first trip to Florida. She is a big Harry Potter fan so is super excited to visit the Wizarding World. Other than that I think she is going to let us be her tour guides.
Philip 30yrs My brother and another almost life long DW visitor. Fan of Stitch and all things Disney. Philip is a master planner and has had a colour coded spread sheet organised for months, although it's constantly evolving. He has booked a sky dive to celebrate his belated 30th birthday towards the end of the holiday.
Peran 32yrs Philips husband, I think Peran is dragged along for the ride but I hope he enjoys the results of Philips excessive planning. They are off to Clearwater for a few days in the middle of the holiday for a bit of "Nephew free time".
As a result of seeing Give Kids The World and the work they do through these boards I am thrilled to be doing a shift in their spa during our trip. It's one of the things I'm looking forward to the most.
We are heading to MCO next Monday ( 17th March) with BA (P&P fly later in the day with Virgin) we will head to the villa and get dinner and maybe some groceries and call it a day.
Then from there we will see what each day brings, some we will all stick together, some we will head in different directions. My family have 14 day Disney tickets whilst the other adults have those plus 14 day Universal tickets.
I'm a little concerned about being an off site FP+ user but I'm hoping we'll be able to make the best of the new system.
I think that's all for now folks. Hopefully writing this will incentivise me to keep a journal and report back in the coming weeks (maybe months)
I look forward to you coming along on our adventure
