A disaster, but we've made the best of it

We were sorting out decorations and card holders in cupboard upstairs when DP screamed that boxes were wet.
The hot water and cold water tanks are in here but no sign of leaks
Boxes are ruined. All the Disney decorations were unharmed but we've lost some photographs, a few posters in clip frames and other decorations.

Nothing for it then, but to go and buy Christmas tree today and get it put up

we got our tank just in time this year ,plummer said another week and it would have all gave up

Our cold water tank in the airing cupboard sprung a leak last rear - it had rusted through and all the clean towels and sheets below it were soaked from the rust stained water

Thanks everyone. We are transfering most of the boxes elsewhere and are keeping an eye on the floor to see if we can figure out where the leak acme from

we had a whole new heating system put in in the summer after our tank sprung a leak and flooded the hall

What a shame about the photos but at least your Disney decorations are OK.

Hope you find out where the leak is coming from. We had a very slow leak from the tank in the airing cupboard last year. Only realised we had a leak when I took everything out to springclean it. The leak was very slow but it still managed to rot the floorboards which we had to replace.

Hope getting your new tree managed to cheer you up.

Will post up photos of tree tomorrow as we have been out for dinner with Diane's aunt and uncle. The 10 adults and 5 kids had a great time. Just home so feeling a bit merry
