Day 9: Sunday, June 28th
We again woke up around 9 a.m. That seems to be an ongoing trend with our family this trip isnt it?! Ha. We got ready and headed down to the bus stop to catch one to Epcot. Im looking at my notes and it says that while we were waiting for an Epcot bus, 2 AK buses and 2 DTD buses came! Of course, theyre always for the places were NOT going at the moment!
Finally, an Epcot bus came and we were on our way! One thing I miss about staying at the 3 Resorts on the monorail is being able to ride the monorail over to the TTC and then switching to the Epcot monorail. The monorail ride to Epcot is so much fun! I especially love the part where we go through the park before getting off. Of course you know me, Ill be looking out the window and wave at anyone who waves up. So as we arrived at Epcot and were walking towards the entrance, I couldnt help put look at the monorail platform. It was like saying Hi to a dear old friend. Little did I know, we would be using it later in the day!

After we got past the lame bag checks and finger scanning, we went our separate ways. B/F and I went to get in line for Soarin while everyone else went to get us all (except Dad) fast passes for TT. The wait time for Soarin was 75 minutes and the TT fast pass return time was 3:20-4:20, which was perfect. As B/F and I stood in line, we participated in all the games on the screen. They always make me laugh. During one of the games, every screen was a bird and all the birds were racing against each other. It was hilarious listening to everyone in front of each screen come together and try to work as a team. To make it even funnier, we all had to flap our arms like wings to make the birds go faster and lean when we wanted them to turn. Those games really make the time go by fast because before we knew it, we were going down the lighted ramp!
We eventually made it to the boarding area. As we walked up to the CM, I was praying for a 1st row seat
and we got it! YES! We got in line and waited for the hilarious Soarin pre-ride video. B/F was like, Youve seen this 1,000 times! and I said, I know! But its still good! I texted Sis to let them know that we were getting on the ride.
And then, it was our turn to ride! I was wearing flip-flops so I had to leave them on the floor. We were anxious to see if theyd bring us down right exactly to them. We were seated next to a couple who were riding Soarin for the 1st time. She kept asking me what happens because shes scared of heights. Uh oh
I dont know if this would scare her or not. Then she tells me that she gets motion sickness. Oh. Wonderful. Please puke your husbands direction and not mine, thank-you! Haha.
Then, it was time to start! As we went up, everyone started Ooooh! and Ahhh! This ride is seriously so much fun. I wish it was longer! Of course, as we went over
Disneyland and up into the fireworks, I had to wave at Tink when she showed up. And in the blink of an eye, it was over. We were descending back to the ground. Back to the World and back to my flip-flops, which were exactly beneath my feet when we got off!
When we made it out, I called Sis to see if they wanted to meet us at Sunshine Seasons for lunch. As Im asking her this, I look to my right and see them sitting against a wall right by the entrance to the ride. They thought lunch sounded like a good idea. We found a table right away and Dad, B/F, and I got our lunch first, then Mom and Sis went. I got California Roll sushi and a fruit bowl. B/F only wanted fruit, so he got me a Spicy Shrimp Roll sushi and a fruit bowl. I didnt really want my fruit, so I gave him my bowl too. Dad got Chicken Caesar Salad and Cheese Cake. Mom got Mongolian Beef and Crème Brulee. Sis got a Caesar Salad and Crème Brulee. Everything was yummy for everyone!
We still had quite some time before we could head to TT. I suggested going to Innoventions because I really wanted to make paper after seeing someone make it on the DIS.:
B/F got in line with me while Mom, Dad, and Sis watched from off to the side. It was so much fun! To make the paper, we had to go through several little steps. By the way, this is the other Mickey tank top I got at DTD a few days earlier!:
And heres the end product:
It was very cool and very fun! I recommend this for anybody with kids. Theyd have a blast!
After we looked around Innoventions, we headed over to WS to do what we call, The Norway ride. Weve never called it Maelstrom. Ha. The wait time was actually 20 minutes! Wow! Usually its a walk-on! Maelstrom has a line and Pirates has been a walk-on the whole trip
go figure! When we got to the loading area, I had to look for my two Hidden Mickeys up on the mural. They are definitely pretty clever ones!
This ride always makes us laugh, but its WAY too short! We were on and off in no time. We zoomed right through the movie room. Ha. Has anyone stayed to watch it? Is it interesting at all?
By this time, we could go use our fast passes for TT. We only had to wait about 5 minutes. Once we were loaded into a car, it was B/F and I in the front with a little girl and Mom and Sis were in the back with the little girls sister. She started talking to B/F and I while they were doing seat belt checks. They were from California and came here from LAX. She was hilarious. They were going to be spending 8 days at WDW and then going on a
Disney Cruise! Whoa! She was so cute though, she kept turning around and asking her sister if she was alright. When the ride came to the part where you look like youre going to hit the wall and then go outside, she grabbed my hand. Afterwards, she said she was sorry she did that and I told her I didnt care at all! We said good-bye to them and then hurried to the exit of the park to meet Dad. We were on a mission!
We wanted to ride the monorail over to the TTC, then switch over to the Express Monorail to the MK, then hurry over to the HoP for the Annual Passholder preview before we needed to be at the GF for our dinner ADR. We started walking up the monorail ramp, and sure enough, there was one waiting for us! We got into a nearly empty car with only one other guy. As their getting ready to shut the doors, a CM comes over the speakers and says that Tommy Hilfiger is up front with her! We look over at the guy in our car. He was decked out in Tommy Hilfiger stuff. He had one of those ear things on and a ton of badges around his neck. Every once in awhile, he would talk into his microphone. When we got off at the TTC, he ran out of our car to make it up to the front car. They waited until everyone was down far enough off the ramp before opening the front car door, so we never got to see him! Darn it. I dont know why he would want a CM announcing him. I wouldnt want the attention when Im trying to have a vacation!
So, we zoomed over to the Express Monorail line as one was pulling into the station. Seriously, we were having good luck! Little did we know, a few days later there would be the tragic accident here. So sad.
I have to say, this was our first time riding the Express Monorail and it was WEIRD going in that direction instead of the other way like the Resort Monorail. We zoomed through the Contemporary and pulled into the MK station in no time. We hurried down the ramp and up to the entrance. As we hurried to Liberty Square, Sis took some pics:
And then we were there!:
