A Dis meet, loopy luau, and 1900 PF fight all on our June trip~plus more!'10 PTR link

Just one class on M-W-F is great! And it's not early, so you can sleep in. :)
Now what's on the horizon when you finish up these classes?

It is great only having that one class! In December, I'll be getting my Bachelor's Degree. Then, in January, I'll stay there to begin my Master's Degree. I also applied for a Graduate Assistantship. So hopefully, I'll be doing that during the day, and then I'll take classes at night, which is how the program goes.

I know. I was sad that school was starting again.. but I have to remember.. the sooner they come- the faster they will leave and then sooner I'll graduate. hehe. My cousin went for psychology and sociology.. and she just graduated with her masters. I also love psychology.

Exactly, you gotta start it to finish it! But it still stinks!

That's great about your cousin..and I'm glad you like psych too!

Tinkgurl are you in Madison? The reason I ask is my DIL is up there doing some program. She's a long from home her in South Louisiana.

Nope, I'm not in Madison! But that's neat your DIL is there!

Day 9: Sunday, June 28th

We again woke up around 9 a.m. That seems to be an ongoing trend with our family this trip isn’t it?! Ha. We got ready and headed down to the bus stop to catch one to Epcot. I’m looking at my notes and it says that while we were waiting for an Epcot bus, 2 AK buses and 2 DTD buses came! Of course, they’re always for the places we’re NOT going at the moment!

Finally, an Epcot bus came and we were on our way! One thing I miss about staying at the 3 Resorts on the monorail is being able to ride the monorail over to the TTC and then switching to the Epcot monorail. The monorail ride to Epcot is so much fun! I especially love the part where we go through the park before getting off. Of course you know me, I’ll be looking out the window and wave at anyone who waves up. So as we arrived at Epcot and were walking towards the entrance, I couldn’t help put look at the monorail platform. It was like saying ‘Hi’ to a dear old friend. Little did I know, we would be using it later in the day!

After we got past the lame bag checks and finger scanning, we went our separate ways. B/F and I went to get in line for Soarin’ while everyone else went to get us all (except Dad) fast passes for TT. The wait time for Soarin’ was 75 minutes and the TT fast pass return time was 3:20-4:20, which was perfect. As B/F and I stood in line, we participated in all the games on the screen. They always make me laugh. During one of the games, every screen was a bird and all the birds were racing against each other. It was hilarious listening to everyone in front of each screen come together and try to work as a team. To make it even funnier, we all had to flap our arms like wings to make the birds go faster and lean when we wanted them to turn. Those games really make the time go by fast because before we knew it, we were going down the lighted ramp!

We eventually made it to the boarding area. As we walked up to the CM, I was praying for a 1st row seat…and we got it! YES! We got in line and waited for the hilarious Soarin’ pre-ride video. B/F was like, “You’ve seen this 1,000 times!” and I said, “I know! But it’s still good!” I texted Sis to let them know that we were getting on the ride.

And then, it was our turn to ride! I was wearing flip-flops so I had to leave them on the floor. We were anxious to see if they’d bring us down right exactly to them. We were seated next to a couple who were riding Soarin’ for the 1st time. She kept asking me what happens because she’s scared of heights. Uh oh…I don’t know if this would scare her or not. Then she tells me that she gets motion sickness. Oh. Wonderful. Please puke your husband’s direction and not mine, thank-you! Haha.

Then, it was time to start! As we went up, everyone started “Ooooh!” and “Ahhh!” This ride is seriously so much fun. I wish it was longer! Of course, as we went over Disneyland and up into the fireworks, I had to wave at Tink when she showed up. And in the blink of an eye, it was over. We were descending back to the ground. Back to the “World” and back to my flip-flops, which were exactly beneath my feet when we got off!

When we made it out, I called Sis to see if they wanted to meet us at Sunshine Seasons for lunch. As I’m asking her this, I look to my right and see them sitting against a wall right by the entrance to the ride. They thought lunch sounded like a good idea. We found a table right away and Dad, B/F, and I got our lunch first, then Mom and Sis went. I got California Roll sushi and a fruit bowl. B/F only wanted fruit, so he got me a Spicy Shrimp Roll sushi and a fruit bowl. I didn’t really want my fruit, so I gave him my bowl too. Dad got Chicken Caesar Salad and Cheese Cake. Mom got Mongolian Beef and Crème Brulee. Sis got a Caesar Salad and Crème Brulee. Everything was yummy for everyone!

We still had quite some time before we could head to TT. I suggested going to Innoventions because I really wanted to make paper after seeing someone make it on the DIS.:

B/F got in line with me while Mom, Dad, and Sis watched from off to the side. It was so much fun! To make the paper, we had to go through several little steps. By the way, this is the other Mickey tank top I got at DTD a few days earlier!:

And here’s the end product:

It was very cool and very fun! I recommend this for anybody with kids. They’d have a blast!

After we looked around Innoventions, we headed over to WS to do what we call, “The Norway ride”. We’ve never called it Maelstrom. Ha. The wait time was actually 20 minutes! Wow! Usually it’s a walk-on! Maelstrom has a line and Pirates has been a walk-on the whole trip…go figure! When we got to the loading area, I had to look for my two Hidden Mickey’s up on the mural. They are definitely pretty clever ones!

This ride always makes us laugh, but it’s WAY too short! We were on and off in no time. We zoomed right through the movie room. Ha. Has anyone stayed to watch it? Is it interesting at all?

By this time, we could go use our fast passes for TT. We only had to wait about 5 minutes. Once we were loaded into a car, it was B/F and I in the front with a little girl and Mom and Sis were in the back with the little girl’s sister. She started talking to B/F and I while they were doing seat belt checks. They were from California and came here from LAX. She was hilarious. They were going to be spending 8 days at WDW and then going on a Disney Cruise! Whoa! She was so cute though, she kept turning around and asking her sister if she was alright. When the ride came to the part where you look like you’re going to hit the wall and then go outside, she grabbed my hand. Afterwards, she said she was sorry she did that and I told her I didn’t care at all! We said good-bye to them and then hurried to the exit of the park to meet Dad. We were on a mission!

We wanted to ride the monorail over to the TTC, then switch over to the Express Monorail to the MK, then hurry over to the HoP for the Annual Passholder preview before we needed to be at the GF for our dinner ADR. We started walking up the monorail ramp, and sure enough, there was one waiting for us! We got into a nearly empty car with only one other guy. As their getting ready to shut the doors, a CM comes over the speakers and says that Tommy Hilfiger is up front with her! We look over at the guy in our car. He was decked out in Tommy Hilfiger stuff. He had one of those ear things on and a ton of badges around his neck. Every once in awhile, he would talk into his microphone. When we got off at the TTC, he ran out of our car to make it up to the front car. They waited until everyone was down far enough off the ramp before opening the front car door, so we never got to see him! Darn it. I don’t know why he would want a CM announcing him. I wouldn’t want the attention when I’m trying to have a vacation!

So, we zoomed over to the Express Monorail line as one was pulling into the station. Seriously, we were having good luck! Little did we know, a few days later there would be the tragic accident here. So sad.

I have to say, this was our first time riding the Express Monorail and it was WEIRD going in that direction instead of the other way like the Resort Monorail. We zoomed through the Contemporary and pulled into the MK station in no time. We hurried down the ramp and up to the entrance. As we hurried to Liberty Square, Sis took some pics:

***CONTINUED IN NEXT POST***

***CONTINUED***

We only had to wait 12 minutes until the next show! Good timing! When we got seated, we were all the way to the right of our row. We were good people. We didn’t stop in the middle like SOME people do. And by some, I mean the obnoxious guy that we had at HoP. The CM comes on the microphone right down in front of us and asks for everyone to move all the way to the right of their row. She says this again, this time looking directly at the guy. He stares her down. She looks at him. She says the sentence one more time as the show’s starting. He doesn’t budge. So there’s a HUGE empty space in our row.

And then it started! It felt so cool to be able to preview this before it was open. They made some great new changes to the entire show as well as adding President Obama. Here’s some pics from the show:

It was AWESOME. Everyone clapped, hooted, and hollered. We were satisfied. We made our way to the gift shop and looked up our last name at the background desk. We found it and had the CM pull up our name. She was really nice and helped us out a lot. We ended up buying a scroll that talked about our name and then another scroll that had our coat of arms on it. This was going to be the perfect Christmas present for my grandparents!

With our purchases in hand, we headed back to the monorail. This time, we got on the Resort monorail to head to the GF. As we were getting closer to the Contemporary, we had to stop. Of course, I was freaking out. Sis decided she was going to scare me and started dancing around and taking pictures while getting close to the windows. Yes, thanks Sis. Love you too! But, she did get some good pics as we made our way to the GF:

Yay another update :)

So cute that the little girl grabbed your hand on TT.

HoP looks pretty cool, will have to check that out next year :)

Pretty random when the CM announced Tommy Hilfiger was on the monorail, bless him.

Can't wait to read about 1900 PF :)

There are games in the Soarin' standby line??? Do you mean those big screens that change every now and then? I had NO idea that those were games. I've never seen anyone playing them or anything! We were at Epcot that morning too and we did the Soarin' standby line!

:woohoo: for another update... I love seeing your vera in the photos. I've never even heard of paper making in Innoventions... it looks like so much.

It was very cool and very fun! I recommend this for anybody with kids. They’d have a blast!

I love this Jiminy Cricket picture. I blew it up (enlarged it, I should say :)), and put it on one of my bulletin boards at school.

Brooklynn did the paper-making activity. It is cool. I'd love to do it with my students. I know they have kits, but nothing as cool as the Epcot setup.

We planned to see the new Hall of Presidents this summer, but it was among many things we did not get to. :sad2:

Awww! I know how you feel about the busses coming for the parks you AREN'T going to...hate that! At least you got there in time to get in line for Soarin and get good FP's for TT! I'm glad that lady didn't end up throwing up on you!! I never knew you could make paper there. What else can you do at Innoventions? Loved the pic of BLT and I can't wait to hear about 1900 PF!

Another great update! Soarin is definitely one of my favorites. Plus it's great hearing everyone when they are getting off. I don't think I've seen one person come off dissatisfied. I heard a really funny quote when we were getting off but you'll have to wait to hear it in my TR. ;)

That is so cool you got to make paper at Innoventions. I didn't know they had anything like that. That would've been fun!

You'll have to check the paper making thing out next time!

I bet you are happy to be hope this weekend. How is your little guy?

I wanted to tell you that we have stayed for the Norway movie before. We felt bad because everyone else ran through there and the CM's looked bummed...so we stayed. And it was a BEAUTIFUL movie. It actually made me think we should visit there. Of course, it will never happen but I was glad that we saw it. You should give it a try sometime if you have the time.

How sweet the little girl held your hand! :cutie:

Hey girl hey! Hope you had fun with all your running around and birthday party and the cookout last night!

Making the paper in Epcot looks so cool! I never even knew you could do that! I wanna try it next time I'm there :thumbsup2

Even though she was freaking you out, your sis got really good pictures on the monorail ride to the MK! I love the one of the GF from afar! Sooo pretty :cloud9:

I remember you texting me while you were online of the HoP preview! I'm excited to see it since I'm a history dork going to school to be a history teacher LOL

Can't wait to hear about your dinner at 1900 Park Fare! :goodvibes

He's great. I took him to a birthday party for a 5 year old yesterday and the theme was cowgirls/cowboys. He looked so cute in his cowboy hat and flannelish shirt.

Well I think we just might have to watch that movie! How long is it?

Thank goodness for cell phones..I love sharing pics with you and I was so excited to show you the one of him dressed up as a cowboy!

It was fun making the paper. We put it in the back of our photo album from the trip to keep as a souvenir.

I love that pic too!

LOL I remember texting you too. I was like.."5 minutes to go..." then "2 minutes to go..." then "SHOWTIME!" :rotfl2:
