A Different kind of Trip Report -- My DD's wedding (More Pix added Post #152)

Thanks for sharing....brought tears to my eyes.....especially thinking of your wife in M.K reliving all those memories.

Just the thought of "my baby girl" old enough to get married bring tears to my eyes.

Sounds like a spectacular day.
Are they staying in WDW for their honeymoon??
Thanks
Kerri

I would love to hear more about the wedding and see photos as well. My daughter wants her wedding there as well. Do you know the cost of something like this? Let us know how things turn out.

Yes, hypothetically if one were to throw a wedding at Disney about what would the cost be...of course we don't want to know what you paid. I'm the mom of two boys but if their beloved some day wanted a Disney wedding we'd be all for it. I could see a dessert party as a groom's rehearsal dinner!

Your daughter and her cake are gorgeous! Can't wait to see more pictures. I still have one more daughter to walk down the aisle with her DF. A WDW wedding would be awesome!

boy what a lucky girl. to get married at Disney.

she looks so pretty!

hope also to see more pictures. Hope it get warmer for you and your friends.

Congratulations! -

I can't wait until my future DIL & I plan her WDW wedding! (My boys are 4 & 2, so I have to wait a while. But I'm certain the girl they pick will want to be married at WDW and let me do all the planning! ;))

I already get weepy eyed thinking of how my boys have grown up at WDW. DS 4 is about to take his 6th trip & DS 2 his 3rd. To think about reflecting on 20 years is too much!

I'm in with everyone else about your daughter made a beautiful bride, the cake made my mouth water, but we MUST have more pics! :)

Enjoy the rest of your vacation! I'm thinking this might be the most memorable trip yet!

OK, this is getting weird. I just read this thread today and our daughters boyfriend just called my DH and ask to have a drink with him this weekend to talk over something. I just have that feeling that we may be planning a wedding soon. I was pretty certain this was going to happen. My DD is 28 and her DBF is 32. It is definitely time! Wonder if they would wait an extra year and go for a WDW wedding.

:)How exciting! Your daughter looked absolutely lovely and it sounds like everything went as planned. Can't wait to see more photos. Thank you for sharing this wonderful experience with us.

What a dream come true day! Can't wait to show these pictures to my daughter as she always says that she wants a Disney wedding someday. She has some growing up to do first but every teenage girl can dream!!

Thanks for sharing.

Please let us know what happened with "the talk"!:thumbsup2

Oh, this is so exciting! DBF asked my DH for our DD's hand last night!!!! She has no idea he is going to propose Tuesday night. It is the anniversary of their first date. YIKES! Now I have to keep the secret till she gives us the great news! I think I will explode from the excitement. She is crazy about him, so I doubt she will say no. Now, how do I stear her towards a WDW wedding?

Hello again everyone,

I have been off-line for a while --- Thursday 12/16 was the day after and everyone was so tired, I couldn't get online in the afternoon. People started going home on Thursday, the grooms parents, brother, grooms SIL and their 2-year old twins. Also my DW's sisters.

Before I post about Friday, I will try to answer some of the questions people have asked:

kamittens -- Yes, our kids are the same age -- my DD is 23.

alldz -- The bride and groom spent 2 days at WDW. He is the music director at our church, so he had to be back at work for Saturday PM. My daughter is finishing up her grad school to be a teacher, so it looks like the honeymoon will have to wait until summer.

Disneyhotdog -- The cost? Well, that depends on what you want. My daughter had a "Wishes" wedding, which has certain minimum $$ you need to spend, also is dictated by how many people you have. Just about eveything is a-la-carte. I'll give you some general figures for stuff: The Wedding Pavillion is $3,000 , my daughters cake was about $1,000, we had a classical sring trio for 5 hours -- about $2,500. The food depends on where you go and what time of day (brunch is cheaper than dinner). Transporation for all of the guests can add up, Mickey and Minnie were not cheap, and so on. I don't think we spent much more than we would have had we had a traditional wedding in CT -- we just had a bunch fewer people there ! I would suggest you take a look at the wedding board. People post their entire wedding budget there.

Someone else asked if she had a photo shoot in the theme parks --- She was going to have it from 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM on Friday in the Magic Kingdom, but when she found out they could not guarantee that the Castle Lights would be on, she decided against it.

The photographers were David and Vickie Arndt -- just fabulous. They did an engagment shoot wth them in July, and from those photos they created the gurst book for the wedding -- most spectacular book I have ever seen -- an Mickey and Minnie signed the guest book too!!

Next post ? Friday --- and believe me, you don't want to miss it --- Just when you thought everyting went smooth..........................

mac_tlc,

Your daughter was just beautiful. I bet you were fighting back tears walking your baby down the isle. Disney does a wonderful job about making each and every bride feel like they are number one.

My DH and I were married at the Wedding Pavillion in 2003. We chose WDW because it was a second marriage for both of us and we felt it was the perfect place for our kids to spend time together and really get to know each other.

Two of our kids are now married themselves with babies on the way. We are so excited and DH is already planning the grand babies first DVC stay. :)

Great reporting so far. I can't wait to read and see more.

mac,
Wow, I just found your thread. I was teary-eyed seeing all the photos, especially of your beautiful daughter, and hearing your wife reminisce about taking her down Main Street all those years ago.

Thanks for sharing your itinerary and the details, like the fireworks, where you guys had the reception dinner, working out the tux rentals etc. I can tell a lot of planning went into it. Our older dd is only 12, but a Mom can always dream of this for her someday, right?
