Baroness Thatcher has paid her last respects to former US president Ronald Reagan as his body lies in state in Washington.
She has pre-recorded a eulogy to Mr Reagan, whom she has described as "one of my closest...and dearest friends".

Lady Thatcher, 78, rested her hand on the flag-draped coffin when she visited the Capitol Rotunda ahead of a national funeral service on Friday.

Thank you Dan. My DH and I truly enjoyed this post. It is truly a sad week in America......but then a joyous one also... President Reagan is with God and is no longer suffering. My heart aches for Mrs. Reagan though. Thanks again.

Thanks Dan, it was very touching and well done!

I was a little girl when Reagan was the president, but I still remember being awed by him... Watching the funeral really choked me up, it's a lot like losing a grandfather figure. Just a side note, DD thought every sailor in uniform was her Daddy.
