We are currently in Fort Myers for 11 days for baseball tournaments, We will have a 2 day break between tournaments. We are thinking of driving up to WDW to spend the day. We don't have park tickets as we didn't want to go to the park with the limited capacity, masks, etc. With the limited capacity at places around the resort, trying to figure out what we can do to spend the day there. I figured we could spend some time at Disney Springs. We are not up for eating inside right now, so we would definitely look for restaurants with outside seating for any meals. Maybe a stroll around the Boardwalk. Maybe some mini golf at Fantasia Gardens. Any other suggestions?

My suggestion would be DS. Not sure if you can park at BW without dining reservations. There isn't too much going on outside the parks right now. Archery might be open at Ft. Wilderness, but I don't know for sure.

If you want to do outdoor dining at DS, make sure you get reservations ahead of time. Availability is limited, especially on weekends, and not every resturant has outdoor seating available. Also know that DS gets pretty busy on the weekends and evenings after the parks closed. If you're avoiding the parks due to capacity limits, masks, etc- DS has the same restrictions.

Oh yea, we know that DS has limited capacity, masks, etc. We can deal with that since we aren't paying for admission. We are looking at going mid week during the day if we go. So hopefully it won't be as busy.

My wife went to DS two weeks ago on a Wednesday. She got there around 1:00pm and said it was a ghost town. Nobody in sight. Now to be up front, she was only there to run into World of Disney to pick up something and left. Probably 30 minutes total time on property but no crowds during the day.

transportation to different hotels and walk around
Yes! I love the various forms of transportation (ok, well, not the bus really, but the rest). You can park at DS, and take a boat to one of the resorts. From there, take a bus to one of the parks and ride the monorail around the loop. Same thing with the Skyliner. If you count these as "rides", you can get several "rides" in without ever paying an admission fee.

AFAIK, the monorail to Epcot is not running at the moment. Too bad as that is one of my more favorite ones as you actually get to go over a good part of the park.

Take a joyride on the Skyliner. Doing the entire circuit takes about an hour. Plus you'll technically be "in" Epcot as you pass by the Remy expansion in France.

Is there a such thing as a joyride on skyliner? My wife and I did it once and it was a miserable, boring experience.

When we went the other day, we actually went round trip twice. No wait at all each time. It was a nice way to get out of the heat and cool down. It’s not a thrill ride of course, but a nice way to take in some of the sites of the resort.

I would park at DS, bus to a skyline resort. Take the skyline tour. Check out the Riviera resort. Bus back to DS for a meal.

I think it's fantastic!! If I didn't have park tickets I would absolutely take some time to ride it. It's the main reason I pretty much exclusively stay at one of the Skyliner resorts now.

That is almost exactly what we did. We started off at DS around 12:30. Walked around there for awhile. Then we took a bus to Boardwalk. Walked around there and over to Yacht Club. Stopped at Hurrican Hanna's for a drink. Then we walked over to the Skyliner at Epcot. Took the round trip twice. We stopped at Riviera and Pop and walked around. Stopped back again at the Epcot station. Took the bus back to DS for dinner and wrapped up the day.
