A day at the beach!

Hi guys,

when we are in Orlando next year we are planning to spend one day at the beach. We are staying on I-Drive and wont be driving so I was wondering whats the best excursion to book to go somewhere like Clearwater?

Has anyone done one of these excursions, who was it with and was it good value for money?

The only excursion that I have been on to the beach was to Cocoa Beach with Thompson a few years ago. To be honest I don't think I would do it again, we stopped off at the famous Ron Jon Surf Shack, which was all good but they don't give you enough time before they want you back on the coach, I think we only had about 2 hours on the beach, which was really nice, in the end by the time you have taken out travel, stopping, getting everyone back on and checked in to make sure that they aren't missing anyone.

TBH I think it was a bit expensive aswell for what we got.

Are you not having a car so that you could drive and please yourself when you come back etc?

Clearwater is also lovely, we have stayed there on a couple of occasions, very nice beach,

It might be worth looking into getting a car even for just a couple of days as it would give you much greater scope re shopping/beaches. It's not too bad driving out there and the drive from Orlando to the Gulf beaches is quite straightforward too.

One of the most perfect days we had in Florida was a beach trip to Anna Maria Island, near Bradenton Beach. The beach was just perfect!

Sorry I couldn't help re the day trips but i'm sure whichever beach you go to you will love!

You can get trips to the Gulf with Half day fishing or dolphin watching which include lunch, We've not been on one but have looked into it.

hire a car for the day, it is much cheaper and will give you more freedom, if you are not sure about directions then cocoa beach would be the easiest to get to, one straight road all the the way( sand lake road and keep going you will see the signs), plus you can stop off at the space centre on the way or just by pass it and see it from a adistance.
