A Daily Lesson in Parenting and Manners: A TR by a real life Wicked Stepmom!

I hope you don't let opinion of one person stop you from finishing your report. Megan, Jacob and I have really been enjoying it and we really feel like we know you and your lovely family. I read them selections and they love the pictures. Plus Megan wants to hear more about the exploits of her future boyfriend!

I don't think there has been any mom-bashing at all, just the struggles of a family told in an open, honest way. Of course that is JMHO as well.;)

I've enjoyed your report as well!

I had no idea there were people that felt any other way out there in the DIS. I thought *everyone* loved you! :lovestruc

Miss Cammie -

Just wanted to say thank you for the update! Even if I'm having a bad day, an update on your report makes me smile.

So thanks for a great report, thanks for your wonderful writing style, thanks for loving those kids as you do and thanks for giving me the opportunity to love them as well!

Wish nothing but the best for you and cannot wait to read about the Muppet Movie and Sci-Fi Diner (neither of which I have been to yet!)

Rachel

Whaaaat? Some people don't like Miss Cammie? Nooooo waaaaay!

Miss Cammie, I love you (well, in a platonic way you know, I AM married :rotfl: ). You have the best writing style (the Diser sisters are coming in 2nd, sorry) and you keep me laughing. When I'm on my Blackberry at 12 AM, hubby will look over and say What are you reading? And my answer is always, Miss Cammie's newest adventure. Please don't stop writing (not that I imagined you would let someone get to you like that anyway).

I know Sally & Teddy love their mom, she's their mom, but that doesn't make what she does to you any more bearable. And as for bashing mom's you don't know, we can all take a page from you and learn how to raise independent, morally sound, loving children.:worship:

You're awesome!:cutie:

Hi Miss Cammie,

As I say that, I think of my southern gal coming out and wanting to curtsey like I would for my dance teacher when I was a little girl.!!!!

I am part Irish and wanted to kiss the Blarney Stone when we had a chance to visit. Even though the family we stayed with told us stories about the local boys visiting it overnight  :faint: :lmao: :rotfl:

They clean the thing every morning!!!

Loving your trip report.

Cammie,

You are doin' a great job!

I give my girls two "punishment" choices.....and they have to choose which one.

And there are "punishments" geared towards each child...EXAMPLE

my 7yo usual choices are: lose TV for a couple days or her American Girl doll for a couple days...devestation!

my 4(almost 5)yo, she has to sit on the bottom step for time out or lose her "blanket" for one night....end of the world!

I have noticed that when they choose to give up something it tends to "hurt" more than time out or no tv, b/c I make them go and get it and hand it to me!

Sorry about the tangent...........will the perfect mother please stand up!

****cricket chirping****

That's what I thought....:scratchin

You know Cammie, you will probably finish this one just to turn around and start you pre-trip! :lmao:

YEA! So you timed this one perfectly and (hopefully) will be starting a pre trip report after this!

These TR's are the only thing that keep me from doing this :badpc: at work when I get one of those insane and rude people call in and all I can say is "well I'm sorry you feel that way but thank you for calling". Uh yeah ;) that's exactly what I was thinking. :rolleyes1 good southern breding lasts your whole life.

Ok Miss Cammie
I see that somewhere there is supposed to be a picture.... I do not see it. I want to see the Famed Miss Cammie in all her Glowing Paleness...:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

:yay:
Hey, are you talking about me??

Ok, newbie here. It's 1:35 and I'm only on chapter 3, part 2 and I'm so happy that finding this you've gotten them all written. It would have killed me to keep waiting for more, teehee
I don't much around here yet, so forgive me if this is well know to all.
But, I sure hope you are a writer of some form. Because if you are not, you should be. Reading your words makes me feel like I am right there with you.
Oh yea, I hope your nose is healed too ;)
Ok, gotta go finish reading the story.
Thanks for sharing.

Another FAB update (sorry I'm a bit behind!)

Miss Cammie, I agree with a lot of the others on here - I think your parenting is AMAZING. I have just found out I am pregnant :yay: and if I can be a parent like you, I know I will be the best Mum ever.

Can't wait to read more - please finish it in the next 3 weeks before I go to Florida to ride none of the rides as I'm looking after our little Henry Bean!!!

xxxxxxxxxx

thanks everyone for the kind words of support.

The best way to deal with bullies is to ignore them. Every time they get a mention it gives them something else to cackle about.

I'm not perfect. I never said I was. Nobody is.

I'm doing the best I can, which is all anybody can do.

so let's just put the uglies on ignore and we'll get on with it. My trip report is unbearably long and I need to get it finished.

thanks everyone for hanging in there with me and being so supportive. All y'all are the people I choose to acknowledge. The rest is just background noise. There is no stopping it. So it's best to just ignore it.

next chapter is in the works. :goodvibes

Miss Cammie,
I meant to say this the last time a person with too much time on their hands hit your TR, but didn't. I oringinally saw your TR link in your signature and cringed. Having had a part who is a stepparent to my half siblings, I'm not a fan of the wicked stepmother archetype. However, I quickly found the TR of a likeable, honest person, who parents in the way I would hope to parent if I had kids.
Don't let the jerks get you down.

I really like your ideas on punishment. I will have to remember that when he is old enough to start having fits. A great way to learn a lesson...they will definitely think twice before doing the same thing again.

My mom once threatened to throw out all of my toys because i did not clean my room. She even had me pack them up in gargage bags to take to the salvation army. I had to beg my dad to let me get them back when he got home...but it got the point across. I have know a mother who did that with her almost teenage daughter...clothes everywhere on the floor. Threated to pack up all of her clothes and send them to the salvation army.

I just realized the reason why I love hanging out on the DIS! The love and support that is present here is simply AMAZING! I mean really, if you think about it, most of us are complete strangers, never having met in person, yet we treat each with such caring and respect! Cheering for each other in the good times and standing up for one another when the nasty stuff in life happens! :grouphug:
You all may be a bunch of strangers, but as far as I am concerned, y'all are a part of my family! :disrocks: Hope you all have a SUPER day! So excited to hear how the rest of your day at AK ended up,Miss Cammie! :)

I am really enjoying it. Can't wait for more!
