I haven't read the whole report yet, but I just wanted to tell you that Minnie remembering Sally made me cry. I was a child of divorced parents and felt lost afterwards too. I totally understand Sally needing something that was "real".

Oh, and please, PLEASE tell me that you wipe down the potty seat again AFTER you've hovered and thus peed all over it for the next person to be subjected to? I know you don't subject unsuspecting strangers to your pee? Right? RIGHT?!

I said a great big forced "HELLO MINNIE, WE ARE SO GLAD TO SEE YOU!!" just to give Sally a little courage. To let her know that it was okay to talk to her.

She took a deep breath and took the plunge.

"Hi Minnie, do you remember me? You picked me to open Toon Town with you when I was 3. I'm 8 now...do you remember me?"

I swear y'all. Time stopped right there at Chef Mickey's. We had all been through SO much this year. This little girl cried more tears than any little girl should ever have to cry. She lost faith in everything she knew to be true..to be REAL. Her whole world was turned upside down. My heart was in my throat as I waited for Minnie to give some sort of sign that she remembered Sally.

I should not have been worried. This is Disney after all.

Minnie put her hand to her mouth in surprise. She nodded profusely and pointed at Sally and gave an excited little jump.

"You remember me? You really do?"

Minnie nodded again and pulled Sally in for a hug.

needless to say, I was weeping. Tears streaming down my face, bawling my eyes out. So was Sally. You could SEE relief pouring out of her in those tears.

Minnie was wonderful. She held Sally close and sort of rocked her back and forth. It was exactly what Sally needed.

All this time I'd been holding the camera. I got a picture of Sally putting her arms out to Minnie. It's the most precious picture I think I've ever taken in my life. It's not that good, aesthetically speaking, but it says it all to me.

Talk about a magic, precious, wonderful moment! (crying from happiness for Sally)

I am totally loving your trip report. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I thought I'd chime in too....this is a great report! Can't wait for the next installment with Sally and Miss Cammie :thumbsup2

Hey, MissCammie! I just finished catching up on your faaaabulous trip report, and I've got the biggest smile on my face. Your family is just so funny! I'm definitely looking forward to more! In the meantime, a few comments:

The smackdown of the Sparkle Sisters on Tom Sawyer Island made me cheer out loud and Sally high-fiving the little girl after she finally found the paintbrush was so sweet that I started to cry!

"MissCammie, I am SOPPING!" BWAH! Teddy cracks me up! :lmao: Loved him calling you his "people seatbelt" on BTMRR. I'm glad he enjoyed it so much! I could practically hear him giggling!

Loved Sally's reaction to Stitch. Thus why I hold my breath when my brother forces us onto that ride. (Not for the whole ride, of course, just for the chili dog part. :upsidedow)

Dole Whips are soooooo goooood. I'm not sure that they're better than Coach purses, but they are definitely a slice of heaven. ;)

I can't wait for your next update! Hope all is well! :goodvibes

Hi Cammie (no Miss Cammie from me because, after reading all about you and your family, I feel like we're BFFs and on a first name basis! Wanna go shopping together?)

I started reading your report while taking a break from my own TR and couldn't tear myself away. (And I have to admit, now I'm a little embarrassed to get back to my boring one, after reading your awesome writing. ) I can totally see this Disney trip as a chapter in a book that you write about blended families. Your writing style is conversational and easy to read, your stories funny and tender. I hope you seriously consider writing a book about this crazy time in your family's life after this is all over.

Thanks for sharing--I recently finished reading a book and haven't even started another one because I want to read your Trip Report instead!

PS Please, Please PLEASE post a picture of yourself doing "the arch." I find myself attempting the look each and every time you shoot one in the story and I am far from perfecting it.

Hey, Can I come???? :cool1: After shopping we can go get pedis. Love having the toes done!!

Cammie please post a new update soon!!:rolleyes1

You know, Miss Cammie.......the story about Sally and Teddy would be an excellent book to give divorcing parents.

You write so well, you have the ability to really explain putting the needs of the children ahead of anything else.

Imagine the difference you might make in just a few more kids' (like Sally and Teddy) lives.

Umm Miss Cammie I hope you are doing well. But I really miss your TR.
Please?

hang in there everybody!!! almost done with the chapter. It's been a busy week with conferences and such.

thanks for your patience!!!

:goodvibes
