My lovely family of five consists of me, my husband and our 3 children. My daughter is 7 and my identical twin sons are 6. The boys have autism, and one of them is very limited verbally, the other is a chatterbox. For fun, my daughter likes to choose movies and reenact them at home. This time, she wanted all 5 of us to be a part. She chose the movie Frozen. She made me Ana, she was Elsa, her Dad was Kristoff, and one of my sons was Olaf. She was stuck on who her other brother should play. She chose Sven, because he couldn’t talk, but she was concerned that he was viewed as “dopey” and she didn’t want to imply that her brother was dopey just because he doesn’t speak. I explained to her that Sven was quite the hero in the movie, that he was brave and heroic and a really good friend. Even though Sven can’t talk she felt really good about choosing him after that.
I feel so differently about Sven after this discussion. I really analyzed him and his character. Especially his relationship with Olaf. My daughter did such a good job choosing the characters for her play. I was so proud of her.

Very cute! My daughter also loves Frozen and often plays with her Anna, Olaf and Sven stuffed animals. Sven is quite popular in my house. Thank you for sharing!

That is so adorable!! I'm an almost 21 (yes, I said 21) year old with high functioning autism.
