A cup, cup, cup, cup, of, of, of of, ..... tea?

I had tea when we stayed at SSR last year. They provide tea bags (they're quite weak though), hot water and the milk is the long life variety in those little pots. :thumbsup2

Never done refillable mugs, possibly get one next week for DS.
I am sure I saw a box of various teabags at Poly in May. DS will sniff them out at OKW, he drinks more tea than anything else.

I've got tea at All Stars (several years ago) & AKL, but as previous poster stated not very strong for the big mugs! I'm now your sad typical English person and take my own teabags (and Marmite!):goodvibes

You can get tea bags for the refillable mugs. Twinnings. However the hot water is not boiling so the tea is weak and does not make a great cup but sometimes anything will do. If that doesn't cut it for you,you can buy a little kettle for $10 in Walmart and just make your own in the room.

Long title - short question - short answer??

Can you get tea for the refillable mugs? (OKW)

Thanks:surfweb:

We were at OKW 2 years ago, and I don't think you could get tea. I have checked on the 2009 menu list, and it doesn't mention tea either:confused3
There will probably be a few different tea bags in your room, but I always take my own! My kids all love tea, and have to have a cup as soon as they wake! Me, I drink nothing but tea at home, but don't touch it when we are in Florida! I love their coffee, and the free refills!
OKW, (as I remember) doesn't have a Food Court like the other resorts, just a sort of 'take out' window! So I would think that if you put one of your teabags in a mug, they would be able to add hot water for you. I'm sure someone here will be able to tell you if that's possible!:)

You can.... but it doesn't taste very nice  you get more of the flavour of the plastic cup and you get less of the taste of the tea :eek:I prefer to grab the hot water and the tea bag and take them straight back to the room and swap them into a proper pot mug to brew for about 3 minutes and then drink it but it's still Florida water you are drinking. Somehow I still crave a decent sweet cup of tea as soon as we get home.

I tend to stick to the weak coffee as it just isn't like a cuppa char at home

we never do refillable mugs when we're at OKW ......(do they have refillable mugs there?)

at OKW we always stay in a 2 bedroom with a full refridgerator - that we stock full of drinks...
at OKW, there's a little store where you can buy some food for your kitchen at only slightly higher prices...
or if you have a car, you can pop over to one of the nearby grocery stores to shop for less...

We have had the refillable mug every time we have stayed onsite since 1998 and always find them to be good value. I often go to the food court really early in the morning to get DH his coffee and I always have tea. There are usually two types of tea bag. I dont like strong tea but it all depends how long the tea bag is left in the cup I dont put my tea bag in my cup until I'm back to our room.:coffee:

I like my tea strong, so I tend to put two teabags in the refillable mugs in an attempt to make it that little bit stronger. Recently, I've been switching to Peppermint Tea, so will be taking my own teabags and just filling with hot water.

Also looking forward to the potential of buying a kettle (although couldn't see one last year when we went to Walmart!) since we are staying at SSR and OKW - no more hot water brewed through the coffee maker - yay!

But yes, you can do hot drinks, although they are not as nice. It's a bit like having tea from a Thermos Flask - that never tastes quite right either!

Ditto on the best tea at WDW being the cup you make with teabags from home with water in the kettle you boiled yourself!

For many Newfoundlanders, our mornings start and our evenings end with a real cup of hot tea (I don't care how hot or humid it is!), and drinking heated water from a plastic or styrofoam cup just doesn't cut it!

I brought a cheap kettle, an old mug and teabags from home last year.
I left the kettle and mug behind.
This year I'll just bring the kettle and teabag & on day 1 I'll buy a souvenir mug.
The gift shops or the counter service store will sell fresh milk, if that's what you take in your tea......(I take fresh milk, but many others in NL use tinned evaporated milk (Carnation is the #1 brand), probably very few use fresh lemon instead....and varying quantities of sugar or sweetener):surfweb:

I love tea from a flask, going to watch a game of rugby league on a cold day with a flask of tea, perfect afternoon out.:cloud9:

We took our own tea bags from home last year.

Had a laugh at Customs when we were asked if we had any foodstuffs. We coughed to the tea bags. The Customs official was very complementary. He said we had shown great foresight as just that week, the whole of Florida had run out of tea. :) :)

I love when the Customs folk are friendly! Sometimes they are so serious or abrupt.
Going thru customs last year (in Toronto, Ontario...Canada), the guy who was loading the bags back on to the conveyor belt after customs was only communicating in song! He had a great voice!

Yes at Goods-to-Go, Turtle Shack. http://allears.net/din/mugs.htm

We would never get value from one as I prefer bottled drinks to fountain but DS might in 16 nights. 87 cents a day incl tax.

it all depends where your room is....OKW is VERY spread out....very very very very very very spread out...
we always request a particular building that is on the opposite side of everything (very secluded with a lovely view, but not near anything other than one of the quiet pools)...
so even if we had a mug it would be useless as there would be no place to fill it up...
when we stay at other disney resorts, we always get a refillable mug (or several of them), but not at OKW....at OKW we have a full kitchen...

we also get the refillable mug every time we stay onsite, EXCEPT for at OKW (which is where the OP is staying)....OKW doesn't have a food court...and it's so spread out, even if it had a food court, unless you're staying right next to it, it wouldn't be worthwhile anyway...

It was when my daughter was a baby that I discovered the joy of a cup of tea! You know I don't think it is the drink...I think it is the activity. Drinking a soft drink can ge done on the go. But for a cup of tea you need to relax, and maybe even sit down and eat something to go with it!!! It is ten minutes of peace in a cup.

I guess I will wait and see where we are at OKW before we make the decision on the mugs. If it was a reasonable walk I certainly wouldn't mind it. (Then I would get twenty minutes!!!) :woohoo:
