A cruise for New Year and a surprise trip to WDW - Update Post 103

Would they enjoy Epcot? I thought promises of many different types of beer and margaritas in Mexico might help.

During the boys outing to DHS, the newbies and I took the opportunity to rest up. We did meet for a warm up toddy and discuss plans for the following day. What made me crack up was to hear my friend, who had never been to WDW, say how much she LOVED MK, but that FOTLK at AK was the best show she had ever seen. Neither she nor her husband were willing to forgive Declan for not warning them about EE going backwards ( I had honestly forgotten) and they still bring it up when we get together.

Luckily for me, DH has been somewhat inspired by MeMom and Queen of all Things, and he did a bit of shopping that evening. What did he buy? and did the crowd levels stay low? Up next... Epcot, a dragon or two and a battle against Senor Senor.

I love to hear stories from friends who go for the first time and they come back talking about how awesome their trip was. It's funny to listen to them excitedly tell about 'that big mountain ride' or that 'there's even a ride in that big ball'!

Shopping is a fun activity, although the huge majority of mine is just browsing and taking pictures.

I could go to AK and do nothing but watch FOTLK all day...Jasmine might have something to say about it but that sounds like a perfect day for me. I had a little bit of a fit on EE the first time when it went backwards and I yelled at Jasmine...why, I'm not sure, but I felt like I had to yell.

Can't wait to hear what Darcy bought!! I guess the hours should be out in the next little while for August....are we going to meet at Epcot again and have a GGS???

I think we should do that for sure. We would also be happy to have you join us for an ADR if they work match up somewhere along the way.

OK lets squeeze in an update while watching NCIS.

Our second full day would start off at EPCOT. We had the usual planned; Soarin, TT, a trip around the World. Declan and I were also looking to try the Sum of All Thrills. Throw in a KP mission and some food and we would have a pretty good day.

We all met up just inside the entrance and took a few pictures.

Something we don't see at home this time of the year

First stop for Declan and I was the Sum of All Thrills. While we built our jet ride, pooksma and our friends went in search of TT passes. The ride was pretty cool, something I would do again. The website they give you is pretty cool as well.

Next up was Soarin. We waited about 30 to 40 minutes in the worst queue at WDW. It was all worth it though. A great flight was had by all.

After Soarin it was time for TT. With our FPs we walked right up to the loading area. Even with the cool weather, the infrared scanner picked up a lot of heat at the end of the ride.

It was time to head for the World Showcase so we decided to go home first. At this point we decided to split up for a bit while we went on our KP mission to France. Declan and pooksma managed to defeat Senor Senior Sr and Jr. while I just followed along with my camera.

After the big mission we walked back to the UK to meet up with our two friends and we decided to walk around and fine some lunch. Morocco was our first thought.

We ended up having lunch at the nine Dragons in China. Very yummy!

After lunch, we split up again in Mexico. We were planning on going back to the resort and spending the evening at MK. Our traveling companions were going to walk around some more before heading back to the resort for the day.

That's a cool picture. I like the way the sun is shining on them.

I love the idea of all of us sharing a meal...it will give us lots of times to catch up!! I think we can start making ADR's on Feb 22 so when Peg and the family returns from their cruise...we'll chat about where we should go!!!

There were some pretty neat decorations all over the parks. I wish we had more time to spend but the cruise was calling.

We arrive on the 21st and we haven't book air yet so not sure what time we will be arriving! We can meet anyday that works for you guys...we haven't really planned anything quite yet

I women's curling team got yours this morning as well. I am particularly proud of that one as that is one of the teams I take care of. My shooters start tomorrow.

It has been a blast but long days. We start around 8 am and go till late in the evening. I'm sneaking in a little Dis time while I have my supper.

I'll try to finish our last day at WDW with some photos. We decided to go back to MK to end our quickie trip. That seems to be the way this family rolls, we must start at MK and end there.

First stop was HM...

Was DS really scared?

No but we did get stopped on the ride. There was a basketball team on the ride as well and they screamed a few times but all in all another fun ride.

Next was an attempt to get on SM again but the wait time was 2hrs! We knew we had to leave early the next day to drive to Fort Lauderdale so a quick trip to BTMRR and POTC was a better plan. I love ending my trip on POTC~ its probably my favorite ride at MK.
