A cruise, a birthday, and a little bit of Disney World...April 20-26th..UPDATED 5/17

Hope Madi is feeling better soon. And good luck with the packing - go on, get thos HUGE suitcases out ;)

HOPE YOUR DAUGHTER IS FEELING BETTER! My DD(11) horse show was a bust this weekend- horse almost threw her off and she got " emotional" so not a good one- so I am glad I kept the trip a surprise! Due to the sleeping in the car in 48 degree weather(we are from SC so that is bone chilling cold to us) I have started a Zpac- no sick for me PLEASE- We look forward to seeing you Thurs- Looks like it is just me and the kids as well- Habe a great time in DW!

Jamie and kids are in the WORLD! :thumbsup2 She posted on face book.. I am so ready for it to get dark so maybe she can update us with some park or motel details. :rotfl: I rreally am not rushing your trip Jamie, I want this week to be LONG and want you guys to have a great time. :laundy:okay back to my laundry.. ughhh

Darn Jamie!! Here I am at work with nothing to do at 2am and was hoping you had gotten started on your report! :rolleyes1

Thanks for being so patient everyone :thumbsup2 I have totally slacked off from this trip report and frankly i've slacked off from a lot of stuff since our trip!
The trip was so much fun and full of surprises, good and bad! :scared1: But you'll all find out about that as we go ;) The trip was full of fun times, birthday surprises, a visit to the ER, a sprain, a sting ray 'bite', messy hair, snotty noses :scared1::scared1:, wonderful cast members, great stage shows, yummy food, an old biddy, wonderful table mates, and delayed planes :rotfl:
Okay, that's your little preview, on with the show!!!

What a tease!!! Just joking :rolleyes1...Gonna have to wait. Getting out the popcorn::

Day 1...Travel day

I have no idea how I ever fell asleep the night before, but I did. And I even managed to get about 3 hours sleep...woohoo! The alarm went off and we were out the door at 4am. A 2 min drive to pick up MIL at her house (she was taking us to the airport) and we were off! I made it to the airport in record time, 45 min. So we had quite a wait ahead of us! We got our luggage weighed (I had at least 10 lbs more I could've stuffed in those bags! :lmao:) and jumped in the very short security line at MCI (Kansas City).
We found some chairs and got settled in. Our flight didn't leave until 6:45am so we had a bit of time to kill.
The kids kept themselves busy reading and I played on Facebook :goodvibes

Pretty soon it was time to board! We were flying Southwest for the first time and had A-30 something boarding numbers. We ended up in the 5th row, not bad!

The flight was quick and un-eventful! We even had a singing steward, good times! :thumbsup2

We headed right down to the Magical Express check in. The line was fairly short and we were on our way to the red carpet in no time. We waited about 10 minutes till it was time to board the bus. The first stop was Pop Century where nearly the entire bus got off at. Next stop....Caribbean Beach Resort! I had previously done online check in, so I walked right up to the online check in desk and it literally took maybe 1 minute and we were off to our room! I love online check in and will use it every trip!
We went outside to wait for the bus to take us to our building. We had a pirate room, so we were in Trinidad South, building 35, first floor. The room was in a great location! Here's some pics of the pirate room-

By now we were completely starving! It was around 12, so we decided to walk to Old Port Royale for some counter service lunch. I want to say here real quick....every trip to Disney we've been on the dining plan. This time however, we were not. I will NEVER do Disney without the dining plan again. I like having it all paid up front. And it is such a money saver!

So we walked and took some pics on the way...

I know a lot of people complain that the pirate rooms are too far away from everything, but it was literally only a 10 minute walk :confused3
So we grabbed some lunch (sorry no pics). Tristan had pizza, Madi and I had cheeseburgers.
I then called National to schedule a pick up time to get our rental from the Car Care Center. He said they could be there in 15 minutes if we were ready. Okay! Sounds good to me! So we head out to the bus stop...ugh...this is why we rent cars now. The bus took FOREVER to get there. We were late, but luckily so was the National shuttle :rolleyes1

Picked up our car (a Mazda 5, I wasn't too impressed it, but it served it's purpose) and headed back to CBR so the kids could swim a bit before dinner.

Ok now, you just can't stop there. I am a year away from anything remotely Disney and I need MORE trip report.. lol....

Good trip report can't wait for the rest.popcorn:: I love reading these I get to post one after my cruise in 2 weeks. Yea!

Great start Jamie.. Wow, I didnt know you have never done disney without the dinning plan. So did you keep up with what you spent? I have done it both ways. I love it with the dinning plan but can deal with it without in order to get to disney if I have too.. :)
Okay now get off facebook :surfweb: and write.. I need more.

Yep, we've used it everytime. I didn't really keep track of what I spent, but I know it was sticker shock LOL

So we just picked up the rental car and headed to thre pool. It was nearly impossible to find a seat with a view of the pool so I could keep an eye on the kids. But I eventually found one with a partial view.

I sent them on their way and headed to the pool bar! I was so ready for a nice fruity, slushy drink ;)
Here's part of me and my yummy drink

Being the only adult, it's nearly impossible to get pics with yourself in them. But at least I got the alcohol in the pic!!! :thumbsup2
The kids just loved this pool. They really loved the fact that it had a slide. Here they are having some fun-

Here's when I was attempting to get them out of the pool. My drink was gone and my belly was ready for some dinner!

They weren't hungry and definitely weren't ready to get out! So I gave them 1 more hour to swim. It did start raining right after that. I was lucky enough to then snag a table with an umbrella. A really nice lady joined me. She had brought her grandsons to Disney and we chatted for a bit while staying out of the rain. I finally got the kids out and we headed to the room for showers and to get ready for dinner.
We decided to head to Downtown Disney and see if we could get in at the T-Rex restaurant. DD was PACKED! We parked and made our way to T-Rex. There was no way we would be getting in anytime soon. The line was so long we just decided on McD's, kids choice. I wanted to eat at Earls but was out numbered :confused3 So we had McD's, which honestly it wasn't that bad, then walked around a bit.
We checked out the Lego Store, but didn't stay and play.

We headed to the toy store and browsed, then to the Christmas store. I was hoping to find a Babys 1st Christmas ornament for my soon to be niece, but no luck. Next stop....Goofys Candy Co.!! We just love this place! Madi and I decided to make a treat, both of us chose the pretzels. Tristan got a tube of flavored sugar.
Here's the CM making some treats...

We decided to head back to CBR. We were all pretty tired at this point. So back to the hotel, showers for all and off to bed! We had quite a discussion about what we'd be doing the next day. Choices were...Universal Studios, a Disney water park, Gator Land, or just hanging out at CBR.

LOVING your trip report. Take any other pics of the Lego store? looks like I may need to get a loan just for a visit there lol

I bet the treats were delicious :-)
