A Croc, a pair of crocs, Karma and what is all this stuff around my neck? update 6/17

Ok, dumb question time, but what is Busch Gardens? A zoo or ??? I have no idea. Yes, I've heard of it, but I still don't know what it is. :confused3

There are 2 BG, one in Williamsburg Va and one in Tampa. The one in Tampa, does have some animals, but they have some awesome looking coasters. I went to the one in VA in (I think) 98 and loved it. One of these days I will make it to Tampa.

Aha!! I would have totally done the same thing. Yeah, I'm greedy, so what?!:rolleyes1 After my Disneyland fiasco, I think I'm entitled to a little magic! :lmao:

My advice for your trip... They seem to pass these out around 10 - 11. You just need to find where they are and walk by. Like I said, if you see a bunch of peeps with them hanging around their neck, just follow the trail.;) Good Luck, I am rooting for you.

Ok so you went to DTD and didnt buy anything. Is that because this is the day you wrote a big fat check to DVC???????

That happened later, but it did happen:thumbsup2

Hate birds always skip FOW. Van Saun Park just opened a parakeet exhibit, you gets sticks covered in peanut butter then rolled in birdseed. You then enter a tent filled with like 100 or so parakeets and they fly around and land on you to eat the seed. It it the most GROSS thing I have ever heard of. Apparently a big hit with the kids though. DS4 allergic to nuts, thank goodness I dont have to go.

OMG, you know how many times I took nieces and nephews to Van Saun. Glad they didn't have what you just described when I was going there.

Hey, hey, hey missy--one dream fastpass per person per trip!!!!:rotfl:

I'm greedy, what can I say:guilty:

How did you like AKL? Did you see where the DVC villa section is? Just got some info on it and was considering it but DH thinks maybe we should just add on at VWL.

What? Are you adding on already, you haven't had your 1st trip home yet, have you? You go girl!:woohoo:

My thoughts on AKL are yes it's nice, and I will probably try for a stay there at some point, but I don't think I would want it as my home resort, just too far away. Though that's what some folks may be looking for. I just love the Epcot area too much.

Thats what DH was thinking just too far with the kids. He is suggesting adding on to VWL which is our home resort, but maybe we should try BWV for some diversity, Im just sayin'. THe kids might like the walk to epcot:confused3
BTW- we will have our 1st trip home Oct 6-14, I see you may be looking at those roundabout dates.Let me know:thumbsup2

So today I was supposed to get up early and go to Busch Gardens. Well, that’s not happening. When I got back to the room last night I realized I just didn’t have the energy to get up and face that drive/traffic. I really want to go, but it’s not happening this trip.
Aww, rats. Busch Gardens is one of my favorite places! But, believe me, I totally understand not wanting to make the drive when you're on vacation!

I was getting hungry popcorn:: and decided to go in search of lunch. And of all the places to eat in WDW, I ended up at the McD’s near All Stars:sad2: . I don’t know if I was just tired, hot or what, but it didn’t taste as good as what I am used to.
Until recently, I swear we wound up at that McD's every trip... and it NEVER tastes as good as other McD's! Weird.

I was tired and headed back for a nap as I have another Dismeet scheduled for tonight.
Oh boy!!! :yay: popcorn::

Day 7, May 4rd…

The plan for tonight was to head to Pleasure Island and meet up with a Disser at The Adventurer’s Club. I knew parking would be bad so I headed down early to give myself plenty of time. The plan was to meet at 9. Well I got there early and rode around for a while before finding a spot.:car: Even though I am not a bus fan, I would take the bus next time. I wandered over and had so much time before the meet I decided to check out the first show at the Comedy Warehouse. Two thumbs up:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 , though I ended up seated next to a rather strange fellow who seemed to be a bit of a stalker of the performers at CW. I swear I am magnet for these types:rolleyes1 .

After CW it was still a bit early so I wandered around the shops, etc. I am not a real club type person at this stage in my life, so the other clubs don’t have any appeal. At 9 I headed over to AC, but it wasn’t open yet, there was a private party still going on. I was supposed to meet in the den at 9. I had tied a lime green string to my bag hoping to help identify myself as a Disser. There were plenty of folks waiting to go in and I was scanning the crowd looking a Dis looking person. The doors finally opened and in we went. I still didn’t see anyone that fit the description. I think I got stood up by a Disser. Hey, that’s ok, the AC is OK solo. There is so much going on you can just sit back and enjoy and still get plenty of laughs:laughing: . For those that have been and know Hathaway, he even flirted with me, but he flirts with everyone, but I did flirt back. ;) After a while, I was getting tired and since this was my last night, and I still needed to pack as I wanted to take advantage of the airline check in at the resort early the next morning.

Next up, BUT I DON'T WANT TOGO HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am hoping to make it there in October, I have a plan formulated already. Just waiting until I close and get in the DVC system to make sure I can get a room. Not being picky, I think I am going to try for OKW. I am scoping out some flights too.

Until recently, I swear we wound up at that McD's every trip... and it NEVER tastes as good as other McD's! Weird.

Well I am glad it's not me. I don't eat McD's often as I try to be good. I love Big Mac's and thought I would treat myself:rolleyes: That was the worst Big mac.

I can't believe you got dissed by a Diser:sad2:

I can't belive your trip almost over :sad2:

I want to say next chapter please, but if I do that, then that means your going home........

Wha??? Just a string? :confused3 :lmao:

What??? Ok, this person needs her Dis card revoked! :sad2:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

JC was one of the rides my DGS loved and wanted to re-ride! So I saw it twice this trip. :cutie: You had a very productive day. :goodvibes It's hard to wind down, though, isn't it?:sad1:

I can't believe you got stood up by a DISser who was it? Name and shame :rotfl2: I hope I don't get stood up in August!!!!! The AC sounds good I'll have to try that in a few years when the DD's are older!

OMG, they didnt show!!!I agree with Jo...Name and shame!!!!How does someone do that toa fellow Disser....just terrible I tell ya:confused:
They must not have known what a great person you are:hug:
Well its THEIR loss. Glad to hear you had fun without them.
Oh no, your last night:sad1:

I can't beleive you were stood up!! That's just NOT good DIS behavior. :sad2:

Aaah, the Adventurers' Club - good memories there! I think... hmm. well, maybe not so much "memories" as moments of recollection... ;)

Sorry they didn't show! Look on the bright side, maybe they had a bus or taxi snafu or something!

Glad you enjoyed the Comedy Warehouse and the AC. Those are both on my must do list when in WDW. I would have definately shown up, lol. ;)
Great updates, though. I'm really enjoying your TR. I'm sorry its almost over. When is your first trip as a DVC owner? Or have you said already and I've been stupid an missed it?

More please! :thumbsup2

No naming and shaming going on here, who knows what happened and I am just going to give that person the benefit of the doubt. I had a good time and had some laughs anyhow. One thing I have learned is everything is what you make of it. Like the saying goes, it life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Heck I was still in Disney, if you are going to get stood up, what better place is there I ask you?

Good news, my closing papers came today, so I will be stopping by the Post Office tomorrow with my check so they will have my stuff Monday. Hopefully I will be in the system by the end of the month if the seller is quick too.

Hi Mo! What's shakin'? Just a little bump for ya! ;)

That carppy thing called real life has gotten in the way of Dissing.

Just catching up on everyone's reports and hopefully will do an update this weekend.

Day 8, May 5th…

This is it, my last day.:sad1: I got all packed last night so I can check my bags and get my boarding pass here at the hotel. Once I am showered and dress and I take my bags and head down to the lobby. At least with the airline check in here it does give a little more time to play in the parks. :thumbsup2 Once that is done I get my last breakfast from the Marketplace and head back up to the room for one last look. Hmm, I feel really full, I hope I didn’t eat too much breakfast, I have that lunch ADR later. I grab my carry on and take it out to the car before heading over to International Gateway. Boy do I love having Epcot as my backyard. They let us in slightly before nine and stopped everyone at the top of the bridge heading to England. Nine comes and so does rope drop. I race with everyone else to Soarin. I really love this ride. :cool1: Before I get on line I grab a fast pass for 9:57.

After my first ride (top row again):goodvibes I figured I had enough time for a boat ride. It has been a long time since I did Living with the Land. With about a 5 minute wait I am off.:boat: I have to agree with some other reviews I have read about it being better with the pre-recorded audio.

After my boat ride I had a just a few minutes until my fast pass time opened up. I pretty much just sat down in front of the FP entrance until the clock said 9:57. At precisely 9:57 I headed through the FP entrance and score, first row again. :cool1:

At this point I have to watch the time as I have an 11:30 at LeCellier, I take a quick spin on SSE and wander around Mouse Gears. It’s coming up on 11 and I am no where near hungry. I checked out Minnie’s Butterfly Garden. And I am still not hungry. So I have the brilliant idea  to powerwalk through around WS to get my hunger going. OK so maybe not brilliant, but I still have about half an hour til my ADR. As I am walking through WS and see what must be the tail end of the Segway Tour, that will be a must do on an upcoming trip. I get to Canada at just about 11:30 and check in. Well I check in after the people in front of me are through arguing with the hostess because obviously it is her fault they don’t have a reservation. :rolleyes1 Shortly after I get there they start seating everyone. Including someone with the name Pumpkinhead, who happens to be wearing a pumpkin on his head. (Yes, I need to learn those stealth picture moves of DLMama).

I ordered the cheese soup, pretzel bread and I got the chicken sandwich as my entrée. It was all good and the service was great.

Well, I got a 2:30 flight and it is time to head back to BC to get the car. :sad1: I stopped at England for some Cadbury bars before leaving Epcot. I REALLY HATE THIS PART!

I get the car and start heading to the airport (I had filled the gas up the night before on the way back from PI). While still on WDW property, my pet sitter called (the lady that stops by when I am at work). She wants to know if I’m home yet as she misses my boys too. I have to say the way I was feeling that if I didn’t have my boys waiting for me I would not have made it to the airport. It just gets tougher each trip to go home. It was then that I knew I was definitely buying DVC. Maybe it will lessen the blow knowing that I have paid for my lodging for the next 35 years.

I make my way to the airport and return the rental car. I have to say how great it was to only have to deal with my carryon and not have to lug the rest of my stuff to check in.

I had time still to check out the croc store and see if they have the patra or cleo in my size to try on. They did, but they also had the rudest saleslady. :snooty: I am talking big time attitude. Um you realize you work in a shoe store in an airport, so not sure why you are being so uppity. There was no way I was giving her a commission and she was the only one working.

With that I was off to security and to my gate to wait for my ride home. We left early and got to Newark 45 minutes early. But no gate to park at, so we sat on the tarmac until a gate was ready. :sad2: At least Jet Blue left the t.v.’s on. We ended up 5 minutes late. At least they gave us a $25 voucher for my next flight. :woohoo:

And when is that next flight, well once I close on my DVC and get in the system I am hoping it will be this October. I already have a spreadsheet with an itinerary done and have the ok from my boss for the days off. So if I can get a room, I will be heading back 10/5 -10/10 and will go to Busch Gardens(hopefully). My plan is to fly in Friday night and drive to Tampa first, go to BG, and then on to WDW on Saturday night. Since once I am property I don’t want to ever leave.

So that's it folks, thanks for reading along. I appreciated all your comments.

In the meantime I will enjoy reading everyone's trip reports and making my planning spreadsheets until I can go home again...

:goodvibes Great ending! Especially with the DVC!!! Terrific report and I loved reading along! Sounds like you got to ride lots and were able to do most of what you wanted. It's great you are already planning your next trip! :thumbsup2
