A Couple of Questions.

Me and my wife are planning on going to DW December 9-15 2012. We have not yet booked our trip yet but are leaning heavily toward staying at Port Orleans Riverside. We went for our honeymoon (aug 7-13 2011) and stayed at the Kidani village and had a blast. We have heard great things about PO Riverside, and about going in early December. Is it worth spending a little extra cash to stay at Riverside versus Value resort? and typically how are the crowds for early Dec? I know it varies from Yr to Yr but usually how are things around that time? Thanks!

Early December is a great time to go!. Crowds and temps are low and the parks are all done up for Christmas and its beautiful!

As far as the Value resorts go you need to weigh a couple of facts:
1. Location- They are pretty far out there. The only transportation is the WDW buses which can be an inconvenience.

2. Occupants- IDK about you but my husband and I would rather not be woken to screaming children every day. These Value resorts are great for families and therefore there are alot of children. Forget ever going to quietly relax at the pool. If your not a pool person and love kids then these are a great choice. The themeing is cool in all of them.

3. Dining- I am not a CS person and the Value resorts only have food courts. I'm not saying the food is bad at all but the noise level and chaos is not usually the way I want to start my day. We don't usually do a sit down breakfast but for me there is no option for food at the Values.
After reviewing all these facts you can make an informed decision. If you are a "go from open to close" kind of couple the values would be fine!

Bigger beds!! yes It's well worth it. You are gaining a hot tub, multiple bus stops, and with POR a boat to DTD!

Yes! All this and really POR is very nice. We really enjoyed walking around the resort. When we stayed there it was also December for Christmas. It was actually pretty cold during our stay. In the 40's in the am and mid 50's to low 60's in the pm. To us it was a very nice change from HOT. lol

I think we have decided on POR. We are both very excited and even though our anniversary is in Aug, we are willing to wait till Dec to celebrate it!

POR is such a great resort! Definitely try to stay there. I think the Values are very cute and charming but they are LOUD. I don't think it's because more kids stay there (there are kids at every resort), I think the walls are thinner.

The last time we stayed at a Value (ASMovies) we heard every word of a conversation some woman had next door in the middle of the night. Yawn.

I have found all 4 mods to be pretty quiet. Have fun!!!
