Hi

DW and I are heading down for a quick three day weekend and are staying at the Pop Century.

Any advice to particular buildings or room requests? We will have a car so bus stops are not a factor.

Are there elevators in the buildings (I have a bad knee that can flair up after being in the parks all day I may act like a kid but I have the body of a more experienced person ;)

Thanks in Advance Dave

I was in the 70's building with the big wheel when I stayed at Pop, and I thought it was an awesome location. It was just a minute or two to the bus stop and food court, and less than five minutes to the computer pool and they hippy dippy pool.

I believe there are elevators in all the buildings.

Good to see you in chat last night, GoofyDad :)

All the buildings have elevstors at the pop.
The 50's & 70's are the closest to the main building and the bus stop unless you paid extra for preferred then you would be in the 60's.

I would suggest the top floor (4th) for whichever building you request. I had the 4th floor in April and it cuts down on the noise considerably.

We just stayed at the Pop the first week of Aug. and it was great. We were in the 70's building behind the Mickey phone on the third floor. Our room faced the lake. We didn't pay extra for it but because the way the lake wrapes around our room had a view of it. We really enjoyed this section. It was not far from anything. It reminds me of how the Toy Story section is at the Movies, close but quiet.

Have a great trip!!

I paid extra for the preferred location at Pop for our December trip. This trip is just me, dd7, and ds5. I wanted the preferred location so the children won't have to walk far to the bus/food court. But now I'm wondering if it is really necessary. Does anyone think it would be necessary for us to get the preferred location, or should I save that extra $70 and just get a "regular" room?

Dd and I stayed in 50's a week or so ago. On the third floor, way in the back..last room before the back bowling pin stairway to parking lot. It was incredibly quiet. I would stay there again. Yes, it was a little longer of a walk than I would have liked to get to the food court and bus stop, but only by about 2 minutes or so....nothing to get in an uproar about. We walked just as far at BWV, but that was inside in the a/c!!! Loved everything about Pop.

Thanks Everyone for your help and input, I will show my wfie tonight and make my desicion.

Yeah, I'm sure if you told them your concern they'd try to help you out. When we went to Check-In the CM said she would give us the closest room she could. (My Aunt was with us and she had on a knee brace)
We ended up in the building with tramp (50s section, 4th floor- no noise!) poolside.. and everything was very close by, especially the parking lot (which was right behind us!)

Which are at Pop in the 50's building has a firewors view ?

DM and I stayed in the 70s Big Wheel building on the first floor facing the "parking lot" and play area. We were in a great location to the Hippy Dippy Pool as well a the Food Court. Even being on the first floor we didn't notice a lot of noise, probably b/ cwe were facing away from the main areas.

alicenwonder99: I found that the "preferred" building isn't really that much closer to everything. When making the reservations you can just request the closest standard room :flower:

We stayed in 50's room 1412 on the 4th floor AWESOME room! It was directly across from the pool and rite next to the main building!

We were in the same area but on the 3rd floor and it was way more convienient to the bus stop and food court than most of the 60's rooms, so I wouldn't pay extra if those are the things most important to you.
