Can anyone help me? We are going tomorrow to DCA (kids 5,6,9)

-I saw on the website that the puddle park is an option for kids to get wet? Is that still open?

-park opens (DCA) at 8am....do they have an opening show? Is it an early morning/entry day? Trying to figure that out and can't find anything.

-do you have a DCA strategy to tell?

-what is the best table service for kids at DCA? I've been to Carthay but it's pricey.

Thank you!!!

Here goes!

* The Puddle Park/Splash Pad is generally open - it's right by the bathrooms in BugsLand.

* There's not really an "opening show" at DCA per se, but they do do a little cheer and ceremony with the first family of the day before they let you in.

* Personally, I head straight back to Paradise Pier to ride Toy Story, California Screamin' and then loop back up to ride Soarin'. I prefer to ride RSR at dusk when the neons at CarsLand are lit up, so I generally watch the Disneyland app for FP return times - when one around that time pops up, I'll walk over and grab a FP for that. From there? I usually head back to Paradise Pier and repeat the above route, but this time adding in Goofy's Sky School and Little Mermaid. Plus, I'll stop for a drink and long lunch somewhere during that time. With younger kiddos, you'll definitely want to make time for the "flying rides" on Paradise Pier - the swings, Jellyfish, the rocket, etc., as well as what rides they may be interested in at BugsLand (I don't have kiddos, so I don't spend much time in BugsLand). Same with Luigi's and Mater's in CarsLand. But again, this is just me!

Check out Redwood Creek Trail too - it's a super fun obstacle course to let the kiddos burn off some energy.

* Table Service - Ariel's Grotto has characters, but is also pricey. I like Wine County Trattoria - they have a build-your-own pasta for kids that the Little I've traveled with liked.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! This helped me a lot! ❤️

I wish table service offerings weren't so slim in DCA! Even though it's a quick service, Flo's in Carsland is super fun for kids with a few good kids meal choices and great atmosphere and views. There is always ample seating, whether you want to be out on the main drag, back on the patio watching the racers, or inside admiring the neon.

The Early Entry is at Disneyland tomorrow, not DCA.

DCA is nice because many rides usually have low wait times including the Paradise Pier rides, the Bug's Land rides, and of course the previously mentioned Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.

I hope the Bug's Land puddle park is operational for you! Its been a little hit and miss for us in the Spring, even when it was totally hot and we were in a group of grumbling adults about to start a protest... Sometimes water shoots from the ground on the front side of the Pier by the Little Mermaid ride.

Definitely utilize the app for FP return times, wait times, bathroom locations, restaurant menus, and parade, show, or fireworks time guide! It's sooooo helpful when we are trying to decide where to head next or where to grab lunch near us.

Have fun tomorrow!

FYI at the puddle pad kids can't go barefoot so bring flip flops or water shoes. Have fun!

Thanks for the warning. I have a girl who prefers to be barefoot whenever possible, so I'll have to warn her. She was spoiled by Universal Orlando, which was barefoot friendly.
