I have a couple of questions involving the CRT ADR's. First off we will be on the Dining Plan but I want to pay out of pocket for this. When I make my ADR's do I pay for it then or just a deposit? Paying in advance would be one less thing to think about. The other question is how difficult will it be to get a ADR the first week of December? I just found out that the 180 day mark is when we will be out of town for my DD's birthday. Do you think I will have a problem if I make it 178 days in advance?

When you make your reservation, they normally take full payment-- it's a 100% deposit :) . If you're on the meal plan, you won't get charged, but since you want to pay OOP, they'll gladly take your money.

Are you staying on property? If so, you can make reservations for 180 +10 days out from the day of check-in.

Example- If you're staying December 1 - 10, you can start making reservations on June 4th for the whole trip. They don't release all of the tables, so you may have to call back on the 180 day mark for the day you want to eat there. The dinner ADR will be the easiest to get inside of 180 days, but it's not a character meal like Breakfast and Lunch.

Personally, I think their lunch is a better value than their breakfast. It's a few dollars more but we thought the food was much better and more worth it.

I hope this helps.

A couple of years ago I called 180 days in advance for a CRT ADR for the character breakfast and had trouble getting through. When I finally did, I was told that I was getting the last ADR for breakfast for that day, and it was only 7:08 a.m. Best of Luck!

I made an ADR for 2 for breakfast about 160 days out and had my choice of days and times. It's nearly as hard to book as it was before. We're going in July, which is generally a lot busier time than early December, so you shouldn't have any trouble.

I also have already paid for the meal. We're on DDP, but paying OOP for this meal, and the charge came through on my next Visa statement.

Things have changed since then:
. . . Now all three meals are character meals (although not to the extent breakfast is)
. . . The prices are MUCH higher than they were two years ago
. . . The lunch and dinner menus have been cut way back (not to mention the dessert 'choices')
. . . It's easier to get reservations, even for breakfast, now than it was prior to February 1, 2006
