If we do not have park hopper, but would like to go to say AK in the morning, nap, then go to MK, can we do that? WOuld it take one or two of our park admission days? Is it allowed?

or----If we want to spend the morning at one park then have lunch at 1900, then go to the Christmas party, can we do that? Is the entrance ticket for the Christmas party our admission?

Nope,If you do not have a park hopper you would have to ue a additional days ticket. If Its a special event like a MVMCP you will have to have a hard ticket for that but then you would be able to use your other ticket to another park.
Now If you want to take a mid day break, you can go back to that same park later on you can do that, but again It has to be the same park. You also can do a one day Park Hopper just see a cm at the custumer service window at any of the parks.

So, for the day that we will do the Christmas Party thing, it is fine to be at one park in the am, then do the Christmas Party in the evening.

The other day, it would need to be two days worth of admission OR get park hopper?

For the Christmas party you would be able to go to another park that morning, then use your hard ticket to the Christmas party to get into MK anytime after 4:00pm. (at least they usually allow party goers into the park about 4:00pm, using their MVMCP tickets).

However, on the other days there is no way to go to two different parks in one day without a hopper. You can not just use another day's admission. It does not work that way. After four days each additional day is only about $3.00. Park Hoppers are a flat fee of $52.00 (whether you use the hopping option for one day or ten days, doesn't matter). Disney knows it would be MUCH cheaper for people to just use another day of their tickets, (rather than pay the $52.00 for hopping priviledges) so they do not allow it. If you look on the back of a base ticket it says something like, 'not valid for park hopping' or 'one theme park per day'. That should be a hint. If you go to one park in the morning, then try to enter a different park later in the day, the turnstyle will recognize that the ticket has already been used for another park and will say 'access denied'. On the CM's side of the turnstyle it will say 'crossover not permitted', so the CM will know that ticket has already been used for that day at another park. You can leave and return to the same park, but can not enter a different park.

Cheshire Figment is a CM here on the DIS boards that works with park tickets. He has a really good Sticky over at the top of the Theme Parks board, that explains the different park tickets and how they each work. Go read his Sticky for more info.

I'm sorry, but this is misleading.

You cannot use two days from a multi-day ticket to hop. If you want to hop, you will need a hopper.

You can add hopping at any time, but it costs the same (about $50) whether it's a 1 day ticket or a 10 day ticket

Thanks so much for clearing it up for me. I was all confused (as you can gather).

:)

I appreciate all your help!

You do not need hopping on one ticket card if you use a different ticket card (for example your halloween party ticket) to enter the second park.

In fact you don't even get out the first ticket card.
